Netflix are using Harry like glorified product placement in Meg’s new show in bid to stop show flopping, expert blasts

PRINCE Harry has been blasted as “product placement” after appearing in Meghan Markle’s new cooking show to bolster viewings, an expert claims.

The Duchess of Sussex has released a teaser for her new show, With Love, Meghan, with her husband making a surprise cameo in the trailer.

Royal expert Hugo Vickers suggests Harry’s appearance ins ‘crucial’ to the shows success

Royal author Hugo Vickers slammed the cameo as a desperate bid for views and a promotion tactic.

He told The Sun: “It’s my suspicion is that it is crucial from the point of view of the show that he makes some sort of an appearance.

“The reason that we watch these things is because of him, because he’s Prince Harry – and she’s married to Prince Harry.

“So if you like product placement, there he was, the genuine prince.”

In the short clip, Meghan can be seen dancing in the kitchen and preparing various dishes.

She appears to be doing a plethora of relatable activities including making shopping lists and taking the dogs out.

Even the couple’s beloved Beagle, Guy, appeared in the teaser who passed away earlier this year.

The end of the footage shows Meghan and her husband, Prince Harry, walk out the door holding shopping bags.

Hugo Vickers said that including a short clip of the Prince will pique the interest of royal-fans, giving the show even more publicity, that it wouldn’t necessarily get without the cameo.

Without Harry, the show or even Meghan Markle wouldn’t reach the heights of fame that it would do without him, according to the expert.

“I always thought when she married him that she probably had a little plan,” he added.

“He is the reason that she has the identity that she now has.

“I always thought that she was looking for global fame and she certainly got it.”

The cooking show is set to be released on March 4 after being delayed due to the Los Angeles fires and will offer eight 33-minute episodes.

However, the project has already received backlash from viewers who have accused the lifestyle series of ripping of Pamela Anderson‘s cooking show.

Pamela’s series Cooking With Love and the Princess’ show With Love, Meghan both share similarities with the royal slamming the latter for being a copycat.

Both shows have almost indistinguishable themes, shots, language and behaviours including almost identical opening sequences.

The hosts both walk into the garden, look at the plants before waving to the chefs and their loved ones to join them in the kitchen.

Audiences have wondered what makes the Princess’ show different to other lifestyle shows and are eager to see a more authentic side to Meghan.

Hugo Vickers said that pretty much everything will have been done before so she’s not necessarily to be blamed for the blunder but should have been more careful.

He added: “I do think the one thing the one thing that she’s got, which the others don’t have, is Prince Harry.”

Various Hollywood pals will visit Meghan’s place in the series and try her simple yet “elevated” food and listen to her cooking, gardening and hosting tips.

Amongst her famous pals will be Mindy Kaling, Daniel Martin and Meghan’s friend and Suits co-star Abigail Spencer – as well as the most prominent figure of them all, her husband.

Netflix described the series as the royal sharing “personal tips and tricks, embracing playfulness over perfection” and showing “how easy it can be to create beauty.”

“She and her guests roll up their sleeves in the kitchen, the garden, and beyond, and invite you to do the same,” the streaming service announced.

The show was announced shortly after Meghan’s brand As Ever was launched which sells a range of homeware items including jams, cocoa powder, and cocktail ingredients.

However, this also was not smooth sailing for the Royal as a Chinese clothing company and a New York-based store run businesses under the same name.

The branding issue prevented Meghan from selling clothes under As Ever and she even faced issues with the logo, which looked very similar to the flag of Majorca.

The mayor of Porreres in Majorca has revealed she is considering legal action over trademarking issue, supposedly mimicking the town’s centuries’ old coat of arms.

Horror moment bungling fisherman slips on rock & lands on SHARK before beast makes terrifying lunge at him

THIS is the horror moment a bungling fisherman slipped on a rock and landed on top of a shark – narrowly escaping a fatal bite from the beast.

The beast was then seen attempting to bite the man’s leg

Shocking footage shows the man standing on top of rocks at the edge of a coastal wall while his friend was reeling.

However, the man suddenly slipped and plunged off the rock – and was seen landing on the shark’s tail.

The beast, who was caught off guard, swished its head around and tried to bite him.

But he managed to scramble on top of the rock as the shark made a terrifying lunge at him.

He also lost both his Crocs to the sea.

The man was angling in the Florida Keys in the US last week.

The shocking footage has since gone viral on the internet, racking almost 3 million views.

One local said: “The story of how he came home without his Crocs is going to be funny.”

Another user asked: “Why the f is he dangling his toes so close to the water?”

A third person joked: “Those Crocs are in Cuba by now. You usually only see Crocs and sharks together in Australia.”

While another user quipped: “Never been hoping to see a shark bite so bad in my life.”

It comes after a man was airlifted to hospital after being attacked by a shark in waters off a popular tourist island.

The victim was found suffering from abdominal injuries and deep lacerations to his leg.

Emergency services rushed to the scene near Moreton Island, QueenslandAustralia.

The man was treated at the scene before being flown to Princess Alexandra Hospital in a stable condition, a Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) spokeswoman said.

It comes just weeks after 17-year-old Charlize Zmuda was fatally mauled by a shark at Woorim Beach, Bribie Island.

The teenager suffered horrific upper-body injuries and died at the scene despite efforts to save her.

The high school senior had been at the beach in Bribie Island with friends at the time of the attack earlier this month.

Meanwhile, a brave husband tried to save his wife as she was savaged by a 6ft shark which reportedly bit off both of her hands.

Witnesses claim the tourist rushed to save his partner from the predator as they swam off the coast of the Turks and Caicos Islands in the Atlantic.

The couple – understood to be Canadian – were holidaying on the islands with their family.

They are believed to have been only a few metres from the shoreline when the shark attack took place.

It was reported by local media she lost both of her hands and a chunk of her thigh in the horrifying incident.

It is believed – but not confirmed – that the shark was a bull shark, a species known for attacks on humans.

‘Tiniest house in Britain’ that’s half the size of neighbours’ is so thin only one narrow window can fit on each floor

A HOUSE thought to be among the tiniest in Britain which is half the size of its neighbours has caught the attention of onlookers.

The three-storey building is sandwiched between a row of Victorian townhouses in Cambridge – but it barely fits a front door.

Cambridge is a historic city meaning many of its buildings dotted have been around for hundreds of years. The city has a lot of interesting architecture to explore with interesting stories behind it or enough mystery to get people talking. A lot of the houses closer to the city centre are small townhouses lined up in rows down the city's quaint side streets. It is only until you get a bit further outside of the city centre that you start to see large family homes appearing. If you have taken a walk around Chesterton recently, one townhouse in particular might have stood out to you. Surrounded by homes with large bay windows and plenty of space, 149 Chesterton Road is visibly smaller with three floors that can fit only one window on each and just enough space for a front door.

Each neighbour boasts a large bay window, alongside a thinner aperture on each floor.

Aside from this gaff on Chesterton Road, which tightly fits one narrow window on each floor.

Members of the Odd Things About Cambridge Facebook group have debated the purpose of the building.

One person claimed the house is a “pretty modern” one bedroom home with a bathroom and open-plan living space, Cambridgeshire Live reports.

But apparently the house used to be part of the property next door until the developer turned it into flats.

Another person supported this theory, seeing as the bricks are interlaced and the cornering matches.

However, she went on to admit this could be a later adaptation.

Meanwhile a third person suggested the narrow house might be the original as its stairs look more dated.

He believes the building on the left may actually have been added later.

Another commentator told how his cousin lived in the narrow house years ago and that it used to be a furriers house.

Other people compared the house to the fictional home of Sirius Black in Harry Potter of number 12 Grimmauld Place.

Another person joked that if you touch the right bricks, they might become wider.

Enthusiasts can even buy a copy of an old photograph of the building from the James Bentley Archive.

The photograph shows two people standing outside of the house in what looks like Victorian dress, which would suggest that house has been there for quite a long time, but the photo has not been dated.
