CHELSEA and Arsenal legend Ashley Cole has been tipped for a huge managerial role, despite having no experience.

Ashley, 44, is considered by many as the greatest left-back in Premier League history following a stunning career with the Gunners, the Blues and England.

The former defender retired in 2019 and crossed over to coaching as he mainly worked as assistant manager for Chelsea and Everton under Frank Lampard as well as Birmingham under Wayne Rooney.

The ex-Roma star currently works as assistant boss at England under manager Thomas Tuchel.

Ashley has never worked as head coach, but former Chelsea team-mate Joe Cole insists his namesake has what it takes for that role.

So much so that Joe, 43, strongly recommended him for the vacant Rangers job following Philippe Clement’s dismissal on Monday.

The pundit believes Ashley would be ideal for the Gers’ top job due to his undying dedication to the game.

The ex-Liverpool ace also suggested the legendary full-back would be as successful as Steven Gerrard, who also had no head coach experience before moving to Ibrox.

Joe told The Dressing Room Podcast: “Where do they go, Rangers? I’m going to throw a name in there.

“He’s our guy, Ashley Cole. I’m going to throw him in. I know he’s got a great job working with the England Under-21s…

“Rangers had such a great spell with Stevie G, another ex-England legend, and I can see Coley going into that job.

“I worked with him doing a bit of media in a foreign country. We had the afternoon off and we were sitting on the sunbeds, ordered a couple of drinks, and I’m thinking, ‘This is a good job, Coley, I’m enjoying myself!’

“I’m watching the world go by, 90 degrees, and he just gets his laptop out and he’s showing me throw-ins!

“The dedication… his dedication to football. We love him. But that would be perfect for him.”

Rangers hired club legend Barry Ferguson as interim manager until the end of the season following Clement’s dismissal.

The likes of Gerrard, Russell Martin, Lampard, Neil Warnock, Sam Allardyce and David Wagner have all been linked with the top job.

MARRIED At First Sight star Ryan Livesey has revealed why he was missing from the reunion show – despite his ex being invited.

It comes after binman Ryan quit the show, meaning his wife Sionainn Carmichael also had to leave MAFS UK.

Sionainn returned for the explosive reunion show alongside a host of other contestants for series eight and nine.

But some E4 viewers were left wondering why Ryan did not make an appearance.

He has now taken to social media to reveal that he was invited to the reunion but he turned it down.

He shared a photo of the 2024 gang and wrote: “I’ve been getting messages asking why I wasn’t at the reunion.

“I decided I didn’t want to do any more filming.”

He added: “I was at the last reunion, and I made it clear that I was done. A wrap is a wrap.”

Unfortunately for Ryan, things didn’t work out with his TV bride Sionainn.

Explaining his decision to leave the show, he said: “Writing this is difficult, and to be honest, I’m not sure where to begin.

“I was starting to develop real feelings and it meant a lot to hear Sionainn say she felt ‘safe and comfortable’ around me.

“This is something I truly pride myself on.

“I wish things would have turned out differently but now feels like the right time for myself and Sionainn to leave the experiment and I wish her all the best for the future.”

Fiery bust-up

It comes after Ryan was at the centre of a huge row between Hannah Norburn and her husband Stephen Nolson prior to their exit.

During the couple’s retreat, Hannah was accused of being inappropriate towards Ryan.

Polly told the group: “Last night after the commitment ceremony she’s gone up to Sionainn and Ryan’s room and she was rubbing Ryan’s feet in front of Sionainn and going ‘ain’t you got nice blue eyes, your feet are so soft, isn’t it nice and warm in there?’”

But things got even worse for Ryan, when Stephen told him he planned to make a move on Sionainn.

During a tense confrontation in front of the group, Ryan raged: “If I wasn’t here, you’d crack on with her? Muppet.”

Hannah also found herself being confronted by the other brides over her flirting with Ryan – despite being married to Stephen.

Hannah told them: “Nobody is letting me speak, how do you think that makes me feel? It’s f****** horrible.”

But Polly was quick to jump in and told her: “Don’t start getting muggy.

“Do not start speaking to people like that. The last thing you want to do is get brave.” An upset Hannah replied: “Don’t threaten me.”

ARTEFACTS made from extraterrestrial metal have been discovered by archaeologists in two ancient cemeteries in Poland.

Four items of jewellery, three bracelets and a pin, containing a form of iron only found in meteorites were pulled from Early Iron Age burials.

The graves, in Częstochowa-Raków and nearby Częstochowa-Mirów, are dated between 750 and 600 BC.

Archaeologists used a number of tools, such as X-rays and electron microscopy, to see what the jewellery pieces were made of.

Based on the high nickel levels in the iron, researchers believe the artefacts are made from an ataxite meteorite.

Ataxites are an especially rare form of iron meteorites.

Despite their rarity, researchers believe the randomness of the finds suggests the material was not thought to be particularly valuable at the time.

“There is a high likelihood that there was a witnessed [meteor] fall rather than a lucky find,” Albert Jambon of Sorbonne University, and co-author of the study, told the Phys.org website. 

“Iron meteorites may be large (hundreds of kg), but this may actually be a problem. 

“Large pieces are not workable, and you need to separate small pieces (less than one kg), which is hardly possible with the tools of the Iron Age (see, e.g., the pieces of iron worked by the Inuits).”

The findings also suggest the ancient inhabitants of Poland were aware of iron processing earlier than first thought.

Researchers found banding patterns on the metal, suggesting they could be the oldest examples of patterned iron in the world.

It significantly predates Damascus steel, which is used in modern knives.

The meteorite jewellery was found amongst a collection of 26 artefacts, including ankle rings, knives and spearheads housed in the Częstochowa Museum.

They were excavated in the 1960s, but were reanalysed by Professor Jambon and Dr Karol Dzięgielewski from Jagiellonian University.

“This modest number of specimens nevertheless forms one of the biggest collection of meteoritic iron products at one archaeological site worldwide,” the pair wrote in the study.

Gossip Girl star Michelle Trachtenberg has died aged 39, it has been reported.

Police sources said her death is not being investigated as suspicious.

It’s claimed she was found by her mother around 8am local time on Wednesday in a luxury apartment complex on Central Park South in Manhattan, New York.

Her cause of death has not been confirmed but an autopsy will be conducted by the medical examiner’s officer, police told ABC news.

It’s believed she died of natural causes and no foul play is suspected.

Sources told the publication that the actress recently underwent a liver transplant.

Trachtenberg began her acting career as a child, appearing in commercials from the age of three before her film debut in 1996, starring in Harriet the Spy.

She went on to play Georgina Sparks in Gossip Girl and Dawn Summers in Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

She held more than 60 credits across her career, including in 17 Again and TV shows Weeds and Guidance.

One of Trachtenberg’s first TV roles came on Nickelodeon’s The Adventures of Pete & Pete from 1991 to 1996, before her titular role in Harriet the Spy.

She also appeared in Ice Princess and EuroTrip, and one of her most recent roles included voicing Judy Reilly in Human Kind Of.

Trachtenberg had been posting on social media just a week ago, and on February 18 had shared a throwback picture of her wearing a green gown and sparkly earrings, writing: ‘I wanted to look like naughty #tinkerbell #throwback.’

Days earlier, she shared another image, writing: ‘#sundayscaries ain’t got nothing on me!’

Blake Lively has made her screen return in the trailer for the A Simple Favor sequel, following her ongoing It Ends With Us battle against Justin Baldoni.

The Gossip Girl actress, 37-, reprised her role in the comedy thriller, aptly titled Another Simple Favor, alongside Anna Kendrick.

The original 2018 flick followed vlogger Stephanie (Anna) as she became enamored by Emily after their sons grew close, but things took a turn when her new best friend vanished – leading her to find the messy truth behind her disappearance.

In the follow-up, also directed by Paul Feig, the frenemies will be reuniting in Italy for Emily’s swanky wedding to a businessman, coupled with a dose of murder.

The trailer begins with Stephanie hosting a reading after writing a book based on the events of the first movie, which her pal crashes with an invite to her nuptials.

However, their trip to Capri is dampened by her fears that the bride will be extracting a murderous revenge after their recent history…

Thankfully, we don’t have to wait long for the drama as Another Simple Favor will be released on Amazon Prime Video on May 1.

Fans couldn’t get enough of the teaser, which was shared on the official Prime Instagram account, and shared their excitement in the comments below.

The official synopsis reads: ‘Stephanie Smothers (Anna Kendrick) and Emily Nelson (Blake Lively) reunite on the beautiful island of Capri, Italy, for Emily’s extravagant wedding to a rich Italian businessman.

‘Along with the glamorous guests, expect murder and betrayal to RSVP for a wedding with more twists and turns than the road from the Marina Grande to the Capri town square.’

The sequel marks Blake’s return to our screens following her efforts on It Ends With Us, last year.

The Gossip Girl actress has barely been out of the spotlight in the last few months, after she filed a bombshell complaint against Justin, who directed and starred the drama, alleging sexual harassment.

Although their movie was a box office hit, it was plagued by rumors of tension on set, which ramped up in December when Blake began legal proceedings, accusing the filmmaker of ‘repeated sexual harassment and other disturbing behavior’.

The Jane the Virgin actor denied all allegations, with his legal team then submitting a multi-million-dollar lawsuit against Blake and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, as well as publicist Leslie Sloane and her PR firm, Vision PR Inc.

His team alleged that she attempted to gain control of the movie by taking certain measures, and also ‘attempted to destroy Justin Baldoni, his team and their respective companies’.

Her attorneys swiftly slammed the accusations, stating that the lawsuit is ‘another chapter in the abuser playbook’.

Another Simple Favor is streaming on Prime Video May 1.
