A MAN sleeping rough in a bin had to be rescued after it was emptied out into a recycling truck.
Refuse collectors had to call 999 for help after hearing his muffled cries from inside the rear of the lorry.
Fire crews then arrived on the scene to pull him free and the man was taken to hospital for a check-up.
But a scaffolder who witnessed the drama in Novers Hill, Bristol, said: “He’s lucky he wasn’t crushed to death.
“We were told the binmen heard this bloke crying out after he was accidentally tipped into the back of the lorry.
“There were two ambulances and two fire engines here.”
It was believed the man had been sleeping rough on scrubland close to an industrial estate.
He then decided to sleep in a large wheelie bin to escape heavy rain on Monday night — unaware binmen would be emptying it at 6am the next day.
A spokeswoman from Avon Fire and Rescue said: “Crews used a triple extension ladder and vehicle hydraulics to rescue the individual from where they were trapped.
“Crews also worked with ambulance on the scene.”
South Western Ambulance Service added: “We sent one double-crewed land ambulance, an operations officer, and the hazardous area response team.
“We conveyed one patient to Bristol Royal Infirmary.”

3 weeks agoNew York StateComments Off on My mum was raped and killed by a shoe fetish monster who then took a sick ‘trophy’ – he should never be let out of jail
SITTING in the small, bland parole board office, Tracey Millington-Jones gives what she considers to be the speech of her lifetime. Yet again.
For the fourth time in seven years, the distraught daughter is fighting to keep her mother’s twisted killer behind bars.
SuppliedTracey Millington-Jones won’t give up her campaign to keep her mum’s evil killer Christopher Farrow caged[/caption]
AlamyShoe fetish sadist Farrow continues to apply for parole[/caption]
Tomorrow, shoe fetish sadist Christopher Farrow, who raped and stabbed to death 51-year-old Wendy Speakes in 1994 in her own home, will make his fourth attempt to be free, despite never expressing an ounce of remorse.
His release is inconceivable to mum-of-one Tracey, who wants him locked up for good.
She says: “I cried as I read my seven-page statement to the three members of the parole board, explaining why Farrow should never be released or downgraded to an open prison.
“Can you imagine how hard this is to do?
“I am fighting for my mum 31 years after her brutal death.
“But I believe I am also fighting for every woman.”
Wendy, an office receptionist from Wakefield, West Yorks, had two daughters — and they were so close they dubbed themselves the “three musketeers”.
Just eight months before her brutal murder, the proud mum had walked Tracey down the aisle.
But in March 1994 she unusually failed to turn up for work — and Tracey, who lives in Essex, was called by a colleague.
She says: “When I rang Mum and a police officer answered, I knew the worst had happened.
“I drove to Yorkshire and was told by investigating officer Bob Taylor that Mum was killed in the back bedroom of her house.
“Bob said to me, ‘I promise you, Tracey, I will find him’. I believed him.”
Police believe Farrow, then a 33-year-old printer from Leeds, had already stalked Wendy and knew she lived alone.
On the day she was killed, a witness at a factory over the road saw a man at her front door minutes after she arrived home at 6pm.
Not long later, the witness saw the man running off again.
In that short time, Farrow had tied Wendy up with a pair of stockings and made her wear a pair of used blue wedge sandals he had brought with him as he raped then repeatedly stabbed her.
Tracey says: “Bob told me Mum may have died with the first blow.
“I really hope so.
“I also think Farrow took a pair of Mum’s newly bought black court shoes away with him — a trophy.

DCS Bob Taylor, who led the investigationSupplied
Thousands of local men were tested for their DNA and Wendy’s house was torn apart in the search for clues. But it was to no avail.
Then, six years later, Tracey received a call from DCS Taylor.
She says: “Bob, who always affectionately called us ‘Wendy’s girls’, rang me — ‘Tracey, we’ve got a match’, he simply said.
“He was tearful and I cried.”
Father-of-three Farrow had been caught after a police officer heard him bragging in a Bradford pub about drink-driving.
When he was arrested for that, his fingerprint matched a partial print found inside Wendy’s front door.
After his arrest, Farrow eventually told detectives, “Someone was going to get it that day”.
He had been angry that his heavily pregnant partner did not want to have sex with him.
It is believed that Farrow travelled to Wakefield and firstly stalked a young, blonde, pregnant woman — labelled Woman A by the courts — and followed her home.
He knocked on her door and told her he was looking for his dad’s new house.
She was wary as she remembered seeing him looking at her that morning at a bus stop.
When her dog barked, she closed the door on him — and saved her life.
Mum’s death decimated us. My sister and I struggled to deal with it.
Tracey
An hour later, Farrow was at Wendy’s house with his killing kit — the shabby shoes, a four-inch kitchen knife and a pair of stockings he had bought from Superdrug that day.
When police searched his home, a poster of a woman’s long legs clad in high heels was found under the bed he shared with his then partner.
His first wife later revealed he made her cut the grass in stilettos.
Tracey says: “Bob told me that Farrow was more upset at being labelled a shoe fetishist than a murderer or rapist.
“How twisted is that?”
Farrow was jailed for life in November 2000, with a minimum 18 years.
Tracey says: “I was so relieved when he was jailed.
“But sadly, since 2018 I have had to fight every two years to keep this scumbag behind bars.
“He has never shown a shred of remorse.”
There is an extra layer of sadness for Tracey at this latest parole hearing as she does not have the unswerving support of DCS Taylor, who died in December last year.
Tracey says: “In the previous three parole hearings, Bob Taylor was always at my side.
“When he retired, he had a 100 per cent detection and conviction record in the 50-plus murder, rape, kidnap cases he headed.
“Farrow was his final scalp.
“In his last interview, he fully supported me for this hearing.
“He said, ‘You don’t go from a back street footballer to a Premier League player.
“Likewise, you don’t go from a drink-driver to a rapist and murderer of a stranger’.
SWNSFarrow leaves court during his trial in 2000[/caption]
An early family snap of Wendy with her young daughtersSupplied
“What else did he do in the six years after Wendy’s murder?
“I firmly believe he committed more crimes.
“Now, he’s not mixed with women for 25 years and has never dealt with his fetishism.
“He is a sociopath and a danger to all women out there.
“He was quietly spoken and amiable so women would not feel threatened by him if he sat next to them on a bus or talked to them as he drew them in.
“He did not look like a beast — but that is exactly what he is.”
After DCS Taylor’s death, a newspaper obituary was put on a Wakefield Facebook group, and it led to Tracey receiving a surprising message.
She says: “I was messaged by a man called Paul, who said his former partner Vanessa was an ex-prostitute who dealt with Farrow.
“When Farrow’s photo was released during his November 2000 trial, Vanessa immediately told Paul, ‘Oh my God, that’s one of my old punters’.”
In the first half of the 1990s, Farrow would pay to take Vanessa to a pub, where he would make her take off her high-heeled shoes and then sit and stare at her shoes.
They never once had sex.
I firmly believe there are previous victims of Farrow and there will be future ones. Freeing or sending him to an open prison is simply releasing a ticking time bomb.
Tracey
Tracey says: “Paul fully supports my plea to keep Farrow behind bars as he states he has used prostitutes before, he will use them again — and they are easy targets.
“I know of three other women who believe Farrow stalked them, including three months prior to Mum’s death.
“He got into one woman’s house with a request to use the phone to contact his dad.
“When she realised he had been on her bus and had followed her home, and when she heard a dial tone and knew he was not speaking to anyone, she screamed.
“Farrow panicked and ran off, pushing a neighbour who had come to her rescue out of the way.”
Six years later, the neighbour positively identified Farrow on his arrest.
He denied a charge of attempted burglary and it remains on file.
Tracey is now urging the parole board to take on board her fears.
She says: “I firmly believe there are previous victims of Farrow and there will be future ones.
“Freeing or sending him to an open prison is simply releasing a ticking time bomb.
“He’s only 64 now, is a regular user of the prison gym and boasts he is nicknamed ‘The Tank’.
“I’ve been told this by one of his family members.
“I do not believe he has been rehabilitated.
“Each time I give my victim impact statement to the parole board — in 2018, 2020, 2023 and this month — the coward cannot cope with it and refuses to be in the same room as me.
“He is obviously unable to face the impact his crime has had on me.
“He does not deserve to be free.
“I will always be looking over my shoulder if he is.
“I fear I am a target.
“After all, I am the one who has kept him behind bars for these extra years.”

A FORMER EastEnders star was arrested for allegedly battering a friend at a golden wedding bash where they were performing in a Rat Pack tribute act.
Des Coleman, who performed as Sammy Davis Jr, left “Frank Sinatra” David Alacey with a black eye after belting him in a side room.
Frank Sinatra singer David Alacey and Des Coleman, who performed as Sammy Davis Jr. in a Rat Pack tribute actDavid was left with a black eye after the dust-up at a Golden wedding doDes on Good Morning Britain, where he occasionally presents the weatherRex
Bandmate Paul Drakeley — Dean Martin in the trio — saw the incident at the party, where they were performing for 40 guests.
Des, 59, a weatherman on ITV News Central, was arrested and taken to a nick but released without charge after Paul told police he had acted in self-defence as David had thrown the first punch.
David claimed that dad-of-four Des lost his head during a version of “Ol’ Blue Eyes” Sinatra favourite That Old Black Magic.
He said Des accused him of playing it too fast and stopped the track as the trio sang at the £1million bungalow just after 10pm on Saturday.
David, 51, claimed Des told him, in front of their audience, that they should step into a side room at the property in the village of Penshurst, Kent, where the two men ended up fighting.
Single dad-of-two David said: “He stopped the track in the middle of the performance.
“He would know that’s not something we do.
“He said, ‘I’m not doing that’ and he put another track on.
“I told him, ‘Don’t ever do that’.
“He came into my face and said, ‘Don’t f***ing do that’.
“I said, ‘Des, why don’t you take your money and go?’ and he said, ‘Yeah, I will. But first, get in here’.
“I actually thought we were going in there to argue.
“As soon as we got in there, his fists were flying.
“Our bandmate was standing there.
“I couldn’t speak or do anything.
“I couldn’t see out of my left eye at the time.
“Now it’s full of blood and I’ve got blurred vision.
“The guests were in shock because there was blood from my eye and nose.
“They got some ice and called the police.
“Des told the guests, ‘Don’t blame me’.”
David, who claimed he was hit up to ten times, got a lift to Tunbridge Wells Hospital where medics referred him to an eye clinic.
They wanted him to have a CT scan, said David, but he had to get back home by the Sunday to his daughter in Telford, Shrops.
He visited hospital yesterday, fearing nerve damage after losing feeling in the left of his face.
He plans to refund the golden wedding couple, who are in their 70s, and stump up cash to get bloodstains out of a carpet.
He said he has now had it with Des, with whom he has worked for 20 years.
He said: “I don’t ever want to lay eyes on him again.”
The two men, and Paul, 47, axed a sell-out Rat Pack Live show at the Everyman Theatre in Cheltenham, Gloucs, scheduled for Monday night following the dust-up.

A spokesman said of the incident: “Kent Police were called at 10.15pm on Saturday . . . following an altercation at an address in Penshurst.
“A man in his 50s was arrested in connection with an allegation of assault and taken into custody.
“He was later released without charge, as the incident did not meet the evidential threshold for a criminal charge.”
Des played womanising wide-boy Lenny Wallace in BBC One soap EastEnders, appearing in 253 episodes from 1996 to 1999.
During his time in Albert Square, Lenny had a fling with Patsy Palmer’s character Bianca Jackson, sparking a pregnancy scare.
In 2011, the BBC axed him as a £33,000-a-year weatherman on East Midlands Today after he protested his innocence over a firearms charge during a live broadcast.
Des, of Swadlincote, Derbys, put the wrong temperature on a map and told viewers: “You cannot believe everything you see or read.”
I have a smile in my heart and a positive attitude and I will move on.
Des Coleman
He had been accused of threatening a motorist in an alleged road rage attack on the M1 in Bucks.
But he was cleared of possessing an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear or violence after evidence came to light about the credibility of the alleged victim.
After his trial, Des said: “I have a smile in my heart and a positive attitude and I will move on.”
He was jailed in his 20s for motoring offences and said his time behind bars made him “realise I wanted something different”.
Quizzed about the punch-up yesterday, Des — who is understood to dispute David’s version of events — told The Sun at his end-of-terrace home: “It’s been sorted out.”

IF pronatalist* Elon Musk was penniless and living on a US trailer park or UK sink estate, he’d have been a shoo-in for taking centre stage on the now-defunct Jeremy Kyle show.
The audience would have booed heartily at the news that he’s now fathered 13 children by four different women, and shrieked with disapproval as one of his conquests claims he texted her, “I want to knock you up again.” Lovely.
Alamy‘Richest man in the world’ Elon Musk has fathered 13 children by four different women[/caption]
ReutersGrimes, mother to some of Musk’s kids, hit out at Elon for ‘parading’ their four-year-old son X at a White House press conference[/caption]
But as he is deemed to be the richest man in the world with a seat at the top table of US power, the feckless behaviour he displays in his private life appears to attract little criticism beyond the sentiment of, “Oh, that’s just how Elon is.”
Consequently, he seemingly behaves with impunity as he waltzes in and out of the lives of various women, impregnating some with his child before, evidence suggests, leaving them to join a long queue of people trying to get his attention.
Take the words of musician Grimes, mother to children numbers seven, ten and 11, who last week had to resort to Musk’s social media platform X to ask him to, “Plz respond about our child’s medical crisis . . . I am sorry to do this publicly but it is no longer acceptable to ignore this situation.
“This requires immediate attention.
“If you don’t want to talk to me can you please designate or hire someone who can so that we can move forward on solving this.
“This is urgent, Elon.”
Seriously? The post has since been deleted but, while Musk may well pay for the upkeep of his various offspring, what sort of father makes it so hard for the mother of three of them to get hold of him when it comes to parental responsibilities of the pastoral kind?
Grimes castigated him back in January for “parading” their four-year-old son X at a White House press conference after she had specifically said she wanted to keep their children out of the public eye.
Meanwhile, a clip from the same event has now gone viral as it shows Musk striding off while the young child navigates a set of steps alone, leading to accusations that he simply used him as a “prop”.
And what about his trans daughter Vivian who no longer speaks to her famous father and changed her surname to Wilson after her author mother Justine?
Last year, Musk said his “son” has been “born gay and slightly autistic” and was “killed by the woke mind virus”.
Vivian, now 20, responded: “He doesn’t know what I was like as a child because he quite simply wasn’t there, and in the little time that he was, I was relentlessly harassed for my femininity and queerness.”
Even Musk’s own dad, Errol, told a podcast last week, “No, he hasn’t been a good father.”
On the above evidence alone, few could argue with that.
And now baby number 13 — known only as “RSC”, has made an appearance in the world and his mother Ashley St Clair is suing Musk for full custody and demanding he take a paternity test.
One-stop commune
It perhaps goes without saying that he wasn’t present at the birth and “hasn’t expressed any interest in having custody”.
But if Ms St Clair’s claims are true that he texted her to say, “I want to knock you up again” and “Well, we do have a legion of kids to make”, then it’s clear that his attitude towards parenting is up there with that of an egotistical cult leader — that siring a large number of children is a reflection of his virility.
This theory is backed up by the news that he’s spent £35million on a large, multi-property compound in Austin, Texas, where he hopes his “baby mamas” will live together harmoniously and he’ll no doubt pop in occasionally to see how they’re getting on. Big of him.
So far, only Yale graduate Shivon Zilis — mother to two of Musk’s children — has reportedly taken up the offer to live in “Musktown” or whatever it’s called.
The idea of a one-stop commune to make it easy for a giant ego to visit all his children at once is bad enough.
But coming from one of the most powerful men in the world, it’s pretty disturbing.
An advocate for high birth rates.

SOUTHPORT HERO’S TROLLING ORDEAL
Yoga teacher Leanne Lucas has revealed she was targeted by trolls blaming her for the deaths of the three young girls who were killed in the Southport attackPA
Despite being stabbed five times herself, 36-year-old Leanne managed to steer some children to safety before needing life-saving surgery for her injuries.
Yet she reveals that while she was recovering in hospital, she was targeted by online trolls blaming her for the youngsters’ deaths because she arranged the event.
We all know that the majority of trolls are sad people who rarely leave their mother’s spare bedroom.
But what level of knuckle-dragging moron do you have to be to blame this brave young woman for the evil actions of a deranged killer?
BURBERRY’S OLDER POWER

DOWNTON Abbey actress Elizabeth McGovern, 63, took to the catwalk for Burberry as part of London Fashion Week.
Strutting alongside her was fellow thespian Lesley Manville, 68.
The usual, younger catwalk models were also in attendance, but how refreshing to see big brands celebrating all age groups rather than focusing on just the commercially fickle 18-25 demographic.
Perhaps they’ve finally realised the spending power of the older generation – aka the “grey Pound”.
Last week, I was thrilled to walk the catwalk for avant garde, sustainable designers Vin + Omi, who have long championed older women, working closely with, among others, Blondie star Debbie Harry and Bake Off’s Dame Prue Leith.
My dress was made from discarded drinks cans collected by the homeless in Birmingham, I had a squished ice cream carton pinned to my head, my hair was backcombed so much that it took fabric conditioner to get the knots out, and my borrowed shoes were killing me.
But it was another tick on my “Over 60, f*** it” list, along with zip wiring over the Eden Project and entering the I’m A Celebrity jungle.
There’s life in we old gals yet.
ONE in three children has skipped school in the past year.
Mental health issues or bullying are undoubtedly factors that need to be taken seriously, but the most common reason given by parents of absentee pupils is that little Jimmy/Jilly doesn’t “enjoy” school.
Sorry? Since when was enjoyment a requirement for attendance?
At secondary school, my Monday morning timetable started with double double maths.
One can only imagine the sickies I tried pulling to skip it.
But unless my leg was hanging off or, at the very least, I was doing Linda Blair-level vomiting, my mother was having none of it.
“You’re fine,” she’d declare, closing the front door firmly behind me.
The notion she’d have let me stay home because I didn’t “enjoy” school is for the fairies.
Yes, of course, staying home and scrolling through TikTok or playing violent video games seems more enjoyable to corruptible young minds.
But the long-term effect of skipping real human interaction in favour of a fantasy life conducted through a screen will prove immeasurably damaging to society as a whole.
Isle say
FORMER Love Island star Dani Dyer says her romance with England and West Ham striker Jarrod Bowen was a very slow burn as she was already a single mum and wanted to be sure.
As they are now engaged and share one year old twins, it’s clearly far better dating tactics than those who drop, er, everything at the first sight of a Premier League star.

JOE Goldberg is BACK for his final chapter in Netflix’s You and fans can expect it to be just as bloody as the previous seasons.
Actor Penn Badgley has reprised his role of Joe, the serial killer who has gotten away with numerous murders.

Joe’s returns to New York with wife Kate GalvinNetflixIt’s not long before the ghosts of his past come back to haunt himNetflixNetflixThere is a fine line between Joe’s yearn for change and his dark desires[/caption]
The new teaser trailer for the fifth season revealed Joe’s returns to New York with wife Kate Galvin, played by Charlotte Ritchie.
But it’s not long before the ghosts of his past come back to haunt him.
The series picks up three years after Joe and Kate left London for the Big Apple.
Joe attempts to put his murderous ways behind him and be there for his CEO wife, who is now the head of the Lockwood Corporation.
But there is a fine line between Joe’s ability to change and his dark desires.
All 10 episodes of the thriller’s final season will premiere on April 24.
“Every season they manage to find new space to make it interesting and relevant,” Penn told Tudum in July.
“And this season, I think somehow coming back to where it started allowed for it to just become grounded in the way that it needs to also have this kind of spectacular finish.”
“There are many loose ends in Joe’s past.”
The clip shows Joe standing in front of a mirror with his voiceover saying: “Love tests us, I’ve been tested more than most, this is the last time.
“I came from nothing, a true rags to riches story. I’ve been through it all.
“Unlucky in life and in love. Until I met you.”
Joe can be seen zipping up Kate’s black dress as he continues: “Kate you opened doors for me I could never have imagined.
“We share a life.
“I would have been quick to judge in the past. Rich. Douchebags. Aristocrats.
“We’re using our power for the better, to help those that aren’t as lucky.”
Looking back at himself in the mirror, Joe said: “Who knew I’d be the luckiest guy in New York.”
The show is based on the book series by Caroline Kepnes.
Deadline reported that showrunners, Greg Berlanti and Sera Gamble, were stepping down, and will not led season five.
Sera is leaving to focus on other projects, but will remain on as an executive producer.
However, the Netflix series executive producers, Michael Foley and Justin W. Lo, will now serve as co-showrunners.
Greg and Sarah Schechter of Berlanti Productions told the publication that they “always intended on telling Joe’s story in five seasons.”
“Ever since our friends at Alloy shared Caroline Kepnes’ fantastic book, we have always conceived it as a five-season journey. We are excited to continue our relationship with Mike and Justin as they take over the reins as co-showrunners and prepare to bring Joe Goldberg home,” they said.
You started out on Lifetime, after Netflix originally passed on it.
But, with low ratings on the cable channel, the streaming network picked it up and saw massive success.
FANS REACT
You fans took to Twitter to react to the news of series five being the final instalment.
“I’m crying literally like literal tears are building up in my eyes,” wrote one fan.
“Cobra Kai, Stranger Things, Flash etc…. and now YOU. All my shows coming to an end,” another added, along with crying emojis.
A third added: “I don’t know how to handle these emotions right now.”
“What am I going to watch after this is over?!” asked a You lover.
That that, someone replied: “My life literally makes no sense anymore the second I am done with the fifth part.”
“I will miss this show so much. Can’t wait to see the ending though, hope Joe gets what he deserves,” said a sad fan.
“This is bittersweet. I’m glad there will be a new season, but I don’t want it to end. I love this show!” commented a Twitter user.
Some fans though are happy to see it go, after what they called a “disastrous season four.”
IS THAT YOU, JOE?
Season four was split up into two parts- four episodes airing in February and the last four in March.
After Joe fled suburbia to chase after his latest obsession, Marienne Bellamy (Tati Gabrielle), he changed his name and appearance.
The serial killer had gotten into a fight with his wife, Love Quinn (Victoria Pedretti), and ultimately killed her in the end.
He dropped off their son, Henry, with a neighbor, and never looked back.
However, some fans were disappointed because the latest season did not follow the same structure as the three before it.
Joe, now Jonathan Moore, was a professor in England, and was trying to reinvent his life, all while seeking out Marienne.
He made a bunch of friends and even forgot about his latest pursual when he met Kate Galvin (Charlotte Ritchie).
She introduced him to her friends, and they spent weekends together at Lady Phoebe’s estate.
Jonathan seemed to have turned his life around, as he hadn’t committed any murders, that he knew of, but Rhys Moore (Ed Speleers), the man running for Mayor, was threatening to expose his past.
When the show returned for part two in early March, it took a completely different turn.
Fans found out that Jonathan actually had Marienne trapped in a huge glass box, but he had no memory of it.
Rhys turned out to be a part of his imagination, although there was a real Rhys Moore, and unleashed the dark side within him again.
Jonathan couldn’t remember that he had been the one who was killing all of the people around him, instead of thinking it was Rhys.
Marienne was freed by one of Jonathan’s university students, who found her in the abandoned building.
She is the only of Joe’s victim that has made it out alive, and vowed get her revenge on him.
In the end, Jonathan left London with Kate and they made a new life for themselves in America, after he tried to jump off a bridge.
He was back to Joe and had shaved his beard and cut his hair.
Although the darkness in him seemed to be at bay, the menacing look he gave the camera at the end, told a different story.

3 weeks agoNew York StateComments Off on Shoppers race to Aldi as ‘really good’ Olaplex dupe that helps hair growth gets even cheaper at just £1.99
MANY beauty lovers can’t get enough of Olaplex when it comes to their hair – however, the price tag can be off-putting.
Thankfully bargain hunters have claimed that Aldi is now selling a dupe for the popular brand for just £1.99.
Facebook/@extremecouponingandbargainsukBargain hunters have been raving about Aldi’s £1.99 Lacura range for being Olaplex dupes[/caption]
Olaplex’s haircare range has a cult following, but doesn’t come cheapNot known, clear with picture desk
A shopper shared how they love the Lacura bonded haircare range in the supermarket and it’s got a very purse-friendly price.
These included a pre-wash treatment, a moisture mask and some oil.
They wrote for fellow savers: “Aldi dupe of the Olaplex down to £1.99.
“Great bargain! I find it really good plus the hair bobble is a wee extra bonus.”
Olaplex has gained a cult following thanks to claims to offer long-lasting effects, but their shampoo and conditioner bundle selling for an eye-watering £56.
Lacura’s dupe pre-wash treatment, shampoo, and a conditioner are all priced at under £5 each.
However, as pointed out by the Independent, what the formula of the pre-wash treatment does not contain is Olaplex’s key ingredient- bis-aminopropyl diglycol dimaleate, which is the patent bond-builder technology the brand is known for.
Typically the Olpalex moisture mask will set you back £19 and their oil is also £19.55 on Look Fantastic – meaning you are making a remarkable saving.
Many shoppers seemed delighted with the Aldi haircare alternative, and tagged their friends in the deal.
Olaplex are not the only ones in the bond-repairing haircare industry, and the market is full of more budget-friendly alternatives, with some beauty fans even calling them ”dupes”.
So, what’s all the science behind bond-repairing haircare – and is it just a marketing ploy?
”Repair hair bonding treatments, like Olaplex, operate on a molecular level to address structural damage incurred during chemical processes.
”These treatments, featuring key compounds such as bis-aminopropyl diglycol dimaleate, facilitate the reformation of disrupted disulfide bonds within the hair cortex.”
OlaplexOlaplex’s popular conditioner can be £20[/caption]
By reinstating these bonds, the treatment will reinforce the hair’s internal structure, ”bolstering its mechanical strength and resilience”.
Using such haircare, in turn, will make your locks less prone to breakage, as well as enhance elasticity, and an overall improvement in hair health.
”Consistent application of these treatments not only rectifies existing damage but also serves as a preventative measure against future structural compromise, contributing to the long-term integrity of the hair.”
OLAPLEX hair care products continue to hold attention in the beauty world nearly ten years after their launch.
In 2014, Olaplex came to life with Dean and Darcy Christal.
The company’s products reportedly aim to help repair broken bonds in the hair by targeting five types of damage: chemical, heat, mechanical, environmental, and lifestyle changes.
The Santa Barbara-based company started in a California garage and is now sold in over 100 countries.
Olaplex Holdings Inc. was bought by the private equity firm, Advent International, in 2019.
Drs. Eric Pressly and Craig Hawker developed the base formula for the product.
They are credited with the “invention,” – adding Bis-Aminopropyl Diglycol Dimaleate – according to the Olaplex website.

Sterling K Brown has raved about the finale of Paradise, teasing more bombshell moments ahead for viewers.
The hit thriller premiered last month on Disney+ and Hulu, and became an instant success. It follows a serene community of citizens in an underground bunker after a doomsday event – residents are left reeling after the President (James Marsden) is killed in the very first episode.
Agent Xavier Collins (Sterling) attempts to find out who is behind his death, while also grieving his own wife, after she was left behind on the surface.
At the end of last week’s episode, he was rocked after being told that Teri (Enuka Okuma) is still alive, with the mysterious Sinatra (Julianne Nicholson) offering him the opportunity to find her.
In a new interview with Entertainment Weekly, Sterling opened up about what this revelation meant for his character, and what we can expect from the final two episodes – as well as the recently-announced second season.
‘Xavier still questions the messenger,’ he declared. ‘Xavier has deep hate for Sinatra right now. And so the idea that she’s telling him something that could be true also means that, “Is it being done just to manipulate me?”

‘At the end of the day, the possibility of Teri being alive after three years of thinking that she’s dead is enough to be like, ‘I have to find out whether it’s true or not.’
Unpacking what next week’s finale holds in store, he added: ‘You find out who kills the president. We’ve met said person, I can tease that. I will be in season two, so there’s a tease. You know what I’m saying? The brother makes it through to the end.
‘We know now through the video recordings that Sinatra shares with Xavier that life exists. There will be an exploration of what life will be like beyond Paradise, beyond our compound.
‘And then one of the driving questions for season two will be, “Is Xavier’s wife alive?”’
