Call the Midwife fans stunned after discovering Renee Bailey’s racy TV past – and it’s worlds away from Joyce

CALL The Midwife fans have been left stunned after discovering Renee Bailey’s former racy TV character.

The actress has become a fan-favourite on the period BBC drama for her role as student midwife Joyce Highland.

But Renee played a very different character to her medic persona just three years ago.

She starred in BBC Three series Mood, which followed the life of a young wannabe rapper and singer.

Nicôle Lecky led the cast, playing Sasha, but Renee also had a small role in the six-parter.

She played a sex worker during an episode, appearing on screen in a plunging shoulder-less dress.

Called Paris, she was even hired along with Sasha to have sex with an older gentleman.

In another scene the duo also imagined themselves in a music video, as Paris wore a skin-tight PVC black dress along with fishnets.

Reacting to the scenes, one Call the Midwife fan said: “No way is that Joyce from Call The Midwife.”

A second wrote: “I cannot unsee Joyce in fishnets.”

Renee also starred in Netflix series Rebel Cheer Squad, playing Lalia for eight episodes in 2022.

Previously speaking about her Call the Midwife character, Renee branded Joyce as a “force”.

She continued: “She is driven and knows what she wants. She’s come to England from Trinidad and was training in Birmingham before London.

“I’ve tried to bring in a little more softness as well as qualities that I love in Black women generally.

“I don’t want her to just be this stereotypical idea of what a strong black woman looks like. She has a lot of tenderness.”

Call The Midwife: A breakdown

Call The Midwife first came onto the airwaves in 2012 and has been seen by millions. But what is it about?

Series one: Set in early 1957 and it explored the ‘Baby Boom generation, which included themes of poverty and post-war immigration.

Series two: Set in 1958 and it showed gas and air being introduced for pain relief for the first time. It ended with the Nonnatus House building being condemned.

Series three: Set in 1959 and it depicted gruesome conditions such as cystic fibrosis, polio and it showed the midwives in the context on prisons.

Series four: Set in 1960 under the threat of nuclear warfare and the emergency response guidelines issued by the local Civil Defence Corp. Other themes included LGBT rights, and syphilis.

Series five: Set in 1961 and it shows the care of patients with conditions such as Typhoid and strokes. We also saw the effects of thalidomide, the introduction of the contraceptive pill.

Series six: Set in 1962 and domestic violence was at the centre of the season. Other themes included FGM (female genital mutilation), mental health issues and interracial marriage. It was also notable for the introduction of Reggie, a recurring character with Down Syndrome.

Series seven: Set in 1963 and we see Nurse Lucille Anderson for the first time. We also see the show address conditions such as dementia, huntington’s disease, leprosy and meningitis

Series eight: Set in 1964 and it bravely covered the issue of abortion, which was not legal for another three years in 1967. Sickle cell disease, cleft lip, cleft palate and intersex people also featured.

Series nine: Diptheria was at the centre of the ninth instalment in 1965, and it was notable for featuring a blind expectant mother. But the role of Nonnatus House within the community also came into question.

Series ten: Set in 1966, Nonnatus House has a rival in the form of the private Lady Emily Clinic in Mayfair. PKU, diabetes and the controversy surrounding abortion were central themes.

Series eleven: Set in 1967 amid the housing crisis and a scabies epidemic. The show was rocked by a train crash right next to Nonnatus House.

France’s ‘worst paedophile ever’ goes on trial as doctor accused of abusing 299 victims & bragging ‘I’m a paedo & proud’

A SICK surgeon accused of sexually abusing 299 patients has gone on trial in what is being dubbed France’s biggest-ever child abuse case.

Depraved Joel Le Scouarnec, alleged to be France’s worst paedophile, took the stands today at the Morbihan Criminal Court in Vannes.

His trial is set to start on 24 February[/caption]

The disgraced doctor has been accused of abusing 299 victims between 1989 and 2004, mostly in hospitals around Brittany, France.

Out of those, 256 were under the age of 15, with the youngest aged one and the oldest aged 70.

The vile man even kept a sickening diary of his alleged crimes writing that he was a paedophile and “proud of it”.

Le Scouarnec is facing more than 100 rape charges and over 150 sexual assault charges at trial, with the average age of his alleged victims being just 11 years old.

Officials claimed he would carry out some of the attacks when his patients were under anaesthetic and being operated on.

The former surgeon is already serving 15 years behind bars after he was found guilty in 2020 of raping and sexually assaulting four young girls.

Two of these victims were his nieces, one was his neighbour, and the fourth was a former patient of his.

Horrifying evidence discovered in the previous investigation into the paedophile helped lead to his new bombshell four-month trial which began today.

He stopped working at the hospital and was arrested in 2017 when his six-year-old neighbour reported being raped.

She lived next door to Le Scouarnec, and told her parents that ‘the man with a crown of white hair’ had exposed himself and sexually touched her through a broken garden fence.

They went to the cops who then made shocking discoveries at his home, including the repulsive diary where he detailed sexual acts with children.

The monster doctor described himself as an “exhibitionist, voyeur, sadist, masochist, scatologist, fetishist, paedophile”.

Every year on his birthday Le Scouarnec would record his age and write a vile message to himself.

He wrote: “I am a paedophile and I am proud of it.”

His diaries reportedly described the apparent crimes in great detail and without an ounce of regret or empathy.

He also included the children’s names, the date he allegedly abused them, and where it happened.

Le Scouarnec denied these words were a reality and claimed they were just his sick “fantasies”.

MISSED CHANCE

Cops also discovered horrifying child-sized sex dolls, some of them chained up, and over 300,000 child abuse images were discovered.

Worrying questions have been raised after it was revealed a litany of chances to stop the monster were missed.

An FBI warning had alerted the French authorities that the former surgeon had been visiting child abuse websites.

The disgraced surgeon had been convicted of downloading pornographic images of children in 2005.

A psychiatrist at the hospital Le Scouarnec was also working raised the alarm and said this conviction should lead to him being kicked out of his job.

It was revealed the French health ministry was made aware of this conviction in 2006 but decided to take no further action.

In June 2008, Le Scouarnec moved to a new hospital in Jonzac, in south-west France, and told the director he was being investigated.

This was disregarded and the monster worked there until he retired in 2017.

His alleged sexual abuse is said to have driven some patients to take their own lives, sparked drug and alcohol dependency in others and destroyed relationships.

‘Beast of Avignon’ - France's worst mass rape case

IT is one of the worst cases of sexual abuse that rocked France.

Gisèle Pélicot, 72, was repeatedly drugged over a decade by her pensioner husband Dominique Pélicot so dozens of men could rape her.

Psychologists described Mr Pélicot as a “Jekyll and Hyde” character who appeared like a normal husband during the day and then drugged his wife so strangers could rape her at night.

They described him as having a split personality.

Mr Pélicot said of the comments: “I am accused of many things. We are not born perverts, we become them.

“Even if it is paradoxical, I have never considered my wife as an object.”

A report submitted to the court suggested Mr Pélicot displayed a tendency towards “paraphilia” –  sexual arousal in atypical situations – and also “somnophilia”– an attraction to unconscious partners.

This made him a “very caring and much-loved husband by day” but “a rapist at night”, psychologist Bruno Daunizeau explained in the report.

The court heard how Mr Pélicot considered himself a “good husband” to the woman he married in 1971 and had three children with.

He said he was “respectful of his wife’s desires and refusals to sex”, but “also had fantasies about swinging” and “got pleasure” in seeing his wife “undergo sexual acts that she normally refused”.

The sick grandfather admitted to the heinous mass rape of Ms Pélicot that stretched for almost a decade.

Dominique, dubbed the Devil of Avignon, wept as he was found guilty on all charges of aggravated rape, attempted aggravated rape and taking indecent images of women including his daughter Caroline in court.

Heroic Gisèle Pelicot told the press that she wanted to be open about the hellish struggle of the years-long abuse by her ex-husband for her children’s sake.

The victims and their families want the authorities, who they say should have stopped him earlier, to answer for the scandal.

Shortly after Le Scouarnec appeared in the dock, a spokesman for the departmental council of the Morbihan Medical Association told the court: “Joël Le Scouarnec has seriously brought the profession into disrepute.”

Thibaut Kurzawa, Le Scouarnec’s defence lawyer, said outside court: “He is waiting to be judged, to express himself, to say what he has to say to each of his victims.

“From the beginning he’s been ready to confront reality, to accept his responsibility.”

The Le Scouarnec trial continues and is expected to conclude in June.

Airlines cancel flights as air travel to ‘grind to complete halt’ this week ahead of major strike action in Europe

BRITS heading to Greece this week have been warned to expect chaos ahead of a huge country-wide strike.

Air traffic controllers in Greece have announced plans to strike on Friday, 28 February meaning all scheduled flights are expected to be cancelled.

Athens, Greece - September 23, 2020: Aegean Airlines Airbus A320 airplane at Athens airport (ATH) in Greece.
Athens airport will completely close for commercial flights as a result of the walkout

With one of the key air traffic controller unions (ATC) staging a walkout, it will mean hundreds of commercial flights will be cancelled with thousands of passengers unable to fly.

Athens Venizelos Airport, that handles 400 flights a day, is due to shut down for 24 hours at the end of the week.

The UK airlines that could be affected include EasyJet, Wizz Air, British Airways as they all have flights to Athens.

Sun Travel has approached them for comment.

The ATC strike is part of a wider demonstration as it marks two-years since the rail crash in Northern Greece, where 57 people lost their lives.

Anton Radchenko, of AirAdvisor, says all travel to and from Greece will stop on Friday.

He adds: “It looks like air travel to and from Greece will grind to a complete halt on Friday.

“Unlike some ATC strikes, where only staff from specific unions walkout, from what we gather, Greece’s entire ATC workforce are taking a united front on this matter – so it’s unlikely that temporary staff will be drafted in to help manage the situation.”

For anyone due to fly to Greece on Friday, Anton suggests that travellers who haven’t been contacted by their airline should reach out to see if their flight will be rescheduled.

He also says to download the airline app and sign up to alerts to stay updated on the situation.

Adding to that, Anton explains: “If your flight is cancelled, you are entitled to request a seat on an alternative flight to your destination.

“If they can’t rebook you on one of their services within a reasonable amount of time, and a seat is available on another carrier’s flight, they are required to book it for you, at your intended airline’s expense.”

Anton also adds that customers who decide they no longer want to travel are entitled to a refund equivalent to the full cost of their ticket.

Not only will the strike affect direct flights to and from Greece, there’s a possibility it will also impact international flights transiting through Greece due to airspace restrictions.

A few flights should remain unaffected which include medical emergency aircraft, those for search and rescue, and government planes.

Across Greece, there will be very limited services that coincide with the second anniversary of the Tempe rail disaster.

The crash on 28 February 2023 was said to expose the ‘shortcomings in safety equipment in Greece’s railway system’.

The hope for those going on strike is that the demonstration will push for greater safety reforms in Greece’s transportation systems.

Along with the flight cancellations, there will be no train services throughout Greece because of the 24-hour strike.

Ferries will be docked at the port too as Panhellenic Seamen’s Federation (PNO) are also joining the demonstration.

On Friday there will also be no taxis, pharmacies will close along with theatres and nightclubs.

Greece isn’t the only country staging strikes this week, there’s also disruption in Italy as pilots walk out with planes unable to take off.

Flight compensation rules

A look at your rights if a flight is delayed or cancelled, when your entitled to compensation and if your travel insurance can cover the costs.

What are my rights if my flight is cancelled or delayed?

Under UK law, airlines have to provide compensation if your flight arrives at its destination more than three hours late.

If you’re flying to or from the UK, your airline must let you choose a refund or an alternative flight.

You will be able to get your money back for the part of your ticket that you haven’t used yet.

So if you booked a return flight and the outbound leg is cancelled, you can get the full cost of the return ticket refunded.

But if travelling is essential, then your airline has to find you an alternative flight. This could even be with another airline.

When am I not entitled to compensation?

The airline doesn’t have to give you a refund if the flight was cancelled due to reasons beyond their control, such as extreme weather.

Disruptions caused by things like extreme weather, airport or air traffic control employee strikes or other ‘extraordinary circumstances’ are not eligible for compensation.

Some airlines may stretch the definition of “extraordinary circumstances” but you can challenge them through the aviation regulator the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).

Will my insurance cover me if my flight is cancelled?

If you can’t claim compensation directly through the airline, your travel insurance may refund you.

Policies vary so you should check the small print, but a delay of eight to 12 hours will normally mean you qualify for some money from your insurer.

Remember to get written confirmation of your delay from the airport as your insurer will need proof.

If your flight is cancelled entirely, you’re unlikely to be covered by your insurance.

Why VAR was CORRECT to overturn controversial Everton penalty against Man Utd due to little-known protocol

VAR was CORRECT to overturn Everton’s controversial late penalty against Manchester United.

The Toffees were denied a chance to win the clash in the dying moments at Goodison Park.

The review centred on the challenge from Harry Maguire as that was what Madley gave the penalty for[/caption]

David Moyes‘ side had thrown away a two-goal lead in the second half against the Red Devils.

But they believed they had the opportunity to claim three points after Ashley Young went down in the Man Utd box in injury time.

The former Red Devil fell theatrically after contact with Harry Maguire and Matthijs de Ligt, with the Dutchman grabbing his shirt.

But Referee Andy Madley pointed the spot as he judged MAGUIRE to have fouled the full-back.

This decision was checked by VAR Matt Donohue.

Maguire had placed a hand on Young’s hip but there was no obvious tug or pull to cause Young’s fall, meaning VAR believed it was a clear and obvious error to award the penalty.

Madley was called to the monitor to look at the incident involving Maguire and changed his decision.

Everton fans were up in arms that the penalty was overturned despite De Ligt clearly having a hold of Young’s shirt, but while the VAR did review that, he decided there was not enough to give a penalty.

CASINO SPECIAL – BEST CASINO BONUSES FROM £10 DEPOSITS

That’s because the penalty wasn’t originally given against De Ligt and therefore it couldn’t be deemed a clear and obvious error.

It’s the same as if the referee had waved play on – the threshold wouldn’t have been high enough to overturn the decision and give a penalty for the Dutchman’s shirt pull.

However if Madley had given the penalty due to De Ligt’s actions, then there would have been no intervention from VAR.

In that scenario it would not have been a clear and obvious error because De Ligt did grab Young’s shirt.

The threshold for this kind of decision has been risen this season.

Donohue decided that the holding of Young’s shirt was “fleeting” and not enough to cause him to fall in his exaggerated manner.

Therefore, Madley was shown angles of the Maguire incident and decided to rescind his original decision of a penalty.

He would have seen the two shirt pulls by De Ligt as he was shown a “high behind” camera angle.

The Premier League addressed the situation at full-time with a statement on social media.

It read: “VAR checked the referee’s call of penalty to Everton for a challenge by Maguire on Young and deemed that no foul had been committed and recommended an on-field review.

“The referee overturned the original decision and play restarted with an indirect free-kick.”

Meanwhile, the Red Devils were slammed by their performance by club legend Rio Ferdinand.

The retired defender insisted that he had never seen the club play that badly before.

Sir Alex Ferguson was also in attendance and looked disgusted at the team’s first-half efforts.

Man Utd ratings vs Everton

MANCHESTER UNITED fought back from two goals down to draw against Everton at Goodison Park

The Red Devils were slammed as “embarrassing” by Rio Ferdinand after failing 2-0 down in the first half.

But they fought back late on thanks to a stunning Bruno Fernandes free-kick and volley from Manuel Ugarte, who bagged his first goal since his summer arrival from PSG.

Amorim’s men were then lucky to escape a penalty in the final moments after VAR overturned the decision.

SunSport’s Ken Lawrence has given his ratings of the Manchester United team…

Andre Onana – 7

United needed him with his game-head on, and his 93rd-minute stop saved a point.

Noussair Mazraoui 69′ – 4

Looked seriously uncomfortable on the right side of the back three – forced there because of a defensive injury crisis

Harry Maguire – 4

Out-jumped by Doucoure as the midfielder grabbed Everton’s second and was generally all over the place.

Matthijs de Ligt – 4

Nowhere for Beto’s opener, completely missing attempted clearance and got away with a 93rd-minute penalty call.

Diogo Dalot – 5

At least shows willing. Which is more than could be said for some of his team mates at Goodison.

Manuel Ugarte – 7

Spent most of the game stranded in United’s midfield morass but salvation came with a brilliant strike.

Casemiro 62′ – 2

The Brazilian is beginning to look like the world’s oldest 32-year-old —he’s become a genuine irrelevance.

Patrick Dorgu – 6

Made a determined start down the left flank but that enthusiasm was slowly but surely sucked out of him.

Bruno Fernandes – 8

His free kick was genuine class and once he was dropped deeper started controlling the game.

Joshua Zirkzee – 4

At £36.5M you would expect an element of ball control but the Dutchman used as a joint No 10 just looks lost.

Rasmus Hojlund 69′ – 3

Not so much a desperate Dane, more a despairing one although it would help if he had some support.

Subs:

Alejandro Garnacho 62′ – 7

Injected some desperately needed pace and passion.

Leny Yoro 69′ – 6

Should have been on much earlier.

Chido Obi-Martin 69′ – 5

The 17-year-old has a presence for sure.

RANGERS have appointed club legend Barry Ferguson as head coach until the end of the season.

And he will be assisted by a trio of Ibrox heroes.

SunSport broke the news as Gers made the move to sack Philippe Clement last night after a tumultuous 16 months in charge.

As the board search for a long-term replacement, an interim manager was needed for the meantime.

Ferguson, 47, is a Rangers icon having formerly been club captain and winning loads of major trophies.

But this is his first coaching gig since 2022.

The former Clyde, Kelty Hearts and Alloa boss will be joined in the dugout by current Gers No2 Issame Charai plus ex-players Neil McCann, Billy Dodds and Allan McGregor.

The statement read: “Rangers Football Club can today announce Hall of Fame member and former club captain, Barry Ferguson, is to become Head Coach of our men’s first team until the end of the season.

“Ferguson, who won five league titles, five Scottish Cups and five League Cups across two spells at Ibrox, will be joined by coaches Issame Charai, Neil McCann, Billy Dodds and Allan McGregor.

“As confirmed yesterday, Philippe Clement is leaving the club. In addition, Alex Rae, Colin Stewart and Stephan van der Heyden are also departing. Rangers FC would like to thank Philippe, Alex, Colin and Stephan for their contribution and commitment. They will always be welcome at the club.

“Brian Gilmour will remain with Rangers to continue to bridge the gap between the academy and the first-team.

“The ongoing football review will continue, and a new, permanent manager will be appointed in the coming months.”

Rangers CEO, Patrick Stewart, commented: “Philippe and his team have worked tirelessly during their time in at the club and have played an important role in developing the first team’s young players.

“I want to reiterate, the issues we are facing run deeper than the manager. The ongoing football review seeks to address those issues, and we will continue to implement its findings in the coming weeks and months ahead of appointing a new, permanent manager.

“When I spoke to RangersTV last week, I was clear that everyone is judged on results, and nobody will get unlimited time in any role at the club. Ultimately, the team’s response following their early exit from the Scottish Cup was a cause for deep concern, leading the board to conclude that action had to be taken now.

“I want to wish Philippe every success in the future. He is a fine man whom I have enjoyed working with in my short time here so far.

“I also want to welcome Barry back to the club. We appreciate him and his team stepping into the role at this difficult time. Myself, the board and the executive team will give them our full support for the rest of the campaign.”

McCann and Dodds have both been managers in their own right since hanging up their boots.

McGregor has been living a quiet life (mostly playing golf) since his retirement.

All four were in the Rangers squad during the season club won its 50th league title in 2002-03, though Dodds left midway through the season.

Beauty buffs are racing to a mega store to snap up a £1.99 buy that will make saggy boobs go ‘back to their bouncy self’

PREGNANCY, ageing and genetics – just some of the reasons our boobs lose that perky appearance over time.

Although this is totally natural, having saggy boobs can have a major negative impact on your confidence for many – but luckily, money-smart shoppers have found the perfect solution.

Facebook users are legging it to B&M after spotting a £1.99 mask for their boobs[/caption]

Facebook user Christina Rachel Howorth took to the popular Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK group to share the epic bargain that claims to transform your breasts – without forking out a fortune.

”Here’s a perfect bargain – £1.99 to treat those coconuts after a long day,” the money-smart shopper chuckled in her post, showing off the special Shake Ya Coconuts Boob Mask.

Infused with rich coconut oil to nourish and hydrate your skin, the purse-friendly skincare buy promises ”to enhance your boobs back to their bouncy self”.

Not only will the formula help your breasts to appear more perky, but the mask also claims to keep the skin more ”hydrated”.

The bargain find, which sells at B&M, is also available for your bum – just look out for Shake Ya Booty Bum Mask.

Although there are currently no reviews of the plastic-free mask, it seems to become a major hit amongst bargain-mad Facebook users.

The post, uploaded less than a day ago, has already racked up 88 comments and over 130 likes, with social media users tagging their pals.

”Off to B&M,” joked one woman who was keen to get her hands on the biodegradable product.

”Take more than a mask to make mine bouncy again,” another chuckled.

”I wonder if these would help my pregnant sore boobies,” someone else chimed in.

A fellow thrifty shopper claimed to have spotted a similar buy elsewhere for even less.

”There’s some in home bargains /poundland and they make your skin so nice and £1 a pack.”

Does ditching the bra really make your boobs sag?

The no-bra-club movement has fully entered the mainstream since Covid-19 lockdowns and working from home saw thousands of women swap stilettos for sweatpants.

But while many believe that skipping the bra will make your boobs go saggy, others insist it’s the secret for perky breasts – so, which one is it?

Determined to get to the bosom of the issue, The U.S. Sun spoke to an expert about whether your bra will really stop your boobs from sagging.

Her answer? Probably not.

Lalitha McSorley, the owner and lead physical therapist at Brentwood Physiotherapy Calgary, spoke exclusively to The U.S. Sun.

Lalitha works with a lot of post-op breast augmentation patients.

Giving her two cents on the hot topic of debate about whether or not wearing a bra affects the girls, Lalitha said the scientific evidence on the subject is limited.

Common Causes of Saggy Boobs

Gravity: Over time, the constant pull of gravity can cause the ligaments in the boobs to stretch and sag, especially in larger ones

Smoking: Smoking reduces blood supply to the skin, leading to a loss of elasticity and premature sagging

Lack of Support: Not wearing a properly fitting bra, especially during exercise, can lead to stretching of breast tissue and ligaments

Weight gain and loss: Changes in body weight can spark changes to the fatty tissue in the breasts, making them more prone to sagging

According to Lalitha: “There are conflicting studies and opinions on whether wearing a bra or going bra-free significantly impacts breast perkiness.

“Proponents of wearing bras argue that they provide support to the breasts and help maintain their shape, which may contribute to a perkier appearance.

“On the other hand, some proponents of going bra-free argue that wearing a bra can weaken the muscles that support the breasts, leading to decreased muscle tone and potentially contributing to breast sagging.”

Essentially, it’s believed that allowing the breasts to be unsupported can strengthen the breast muscles and promote a natural perkiness.

However, “there is limited scientific evidence to support these claims,” said the physical therapist.

Lalitha stated that it’s important to note that right now the only factors we know that can impact breast perkiness include age, genetics, hormonal changes, pregnancy, breastfeeding, weight changes, and overall breast tissue elasticity.

“Breast perkiness is influenced by various factors, and the decision to wear a bra or not should be based on individual comfort, personal preference, and body anatomy,” she said.

But a debate soon sparked in the comments, with some criticising her choice for weaning him off milk so early.

When one follower asked if Megan had looked into baby-led weaning, Megan responded: “Yes but I’m waiting until he’s six months to do this as he’s only 4 1/2! I’m weaning him early due to his reflux.”

Her comment sparked a slew of critiques by people who didn’t think it was suitable, with no studies to back it up.

One even begged her not to, writing: “Please don’t wean him early there is zero studies it helps with reflux and can cause sooo many more issues in the long term.”

“Did you think about BLW [babyled weaning]?” wrote another. “No mushy liquidised stuff. Wait until they’re ready and can feed themselves. Thoroughly recommend it. Studies now show babies gut isn’t ready for food that early x”

“It’s called science and evolves every day look up the evidence based practice that advises that it should be six months it’s because new research shows that our bellies don’t protect themselves until six months Meaning more stomach issues when older” said a third.

“As her herself has issues with her digestive system you’d think she would wait until he’s 24 weeks before starting. Especially when he can’t sit up in a chair himself. Germany might have different regulations but the UK is defo six months.”

However other parents were quick to back her up, saying that it helped their baby.

“Bless him and this will help his little reflux so much. People that judge on this topic please stop this is done on medical advice to help a baby that is struggling well done little man x” one replied.

“I started weaning mine at 4 months old these comments aren’t it, what do you think they did back in the day with no restrictions or regulations 😂” said a second,

“this!!! Honestly sick of hearing people doing it by the book instead of going with their own instinct and doing it when they know babas are ready xx” noted a third.

However, others continued to double down, saying: “Weaning before six months is not recommended. Introducing solid foods too early can increase the risk of allergies and obesity later in life.”

They later added they feel she should wait because essential nutrients are in breast milk and formula, babies’ digestive systems aren’t mature enough to handle food, and it could increase risk of disease.

“Honestly the ‘but mine are fine’ bias is maddening in these comments,” they added.

This isn’t the first time Megan has come under fire, despite her adjusting to life as a new mum.

Megan has been honest with every up and down as a new parent, including getting painful mastitis – a condition where milk ducts get blocked in the breasts – and wanting to tone up her tummy after giving birth.

She’s also been juggling a bigger workload while her footballer fiancé Oliver Burke is away working.

Now complete with a mum bob hairdo, Megan has said that she is refusing to respond to negativity over her baby boy, after trolls came after her for trying to sleep train Landon to sleep by himself.

Miquita Oliver shocks fans as she reveals her first kiss was with ISIS terrorist ‘Jihadi George’

TV presenter Miquita Oliver has stunned fans by revealing her first kiss was with Alexanda Kotey — the ISIS terrorist known as Jihadi George, a member of the notorious Beatles terror cell.

Miquita, 40, made the revelation on her Miss Me podcast, recalling her time at Fox Primary School in Kensington and Chelsea, where she and Kotey were classmates.

Reflecting on their childhood, she told co-host Lily Allen: “Do you remember who my first kiss is? It’s Alexy — mixed race Alexy from Fox. And do you remember what happened to Alexy? He became Jihadi George!”

Kotey, 41, was a leading figure in the brutal ISIS group that kidnapped and murdered 27 people, including British aid worker David Haines.

The terror cell became infamous for targeting Westerners and carrying out horrific executions.

Before his radicalisation, Kotey grew up in Shepherd’s Bush, West London, with a Ghanaian father and a Greek Cypriot mother.

He was believed to have dealt drugs before converting to Islam in his early 20s and eventually leaving for Syria in 2012.

In Syria, Kotey became known for inflicting extreme torture on hostages, including electric shocks.

He also acted as a recruiter, persuading other British citizens to join ISIS.

Kotey was captured in 2018 while attempting to flee to Turkey.

He was later extradited to the US, where he pleaded guilty to eight charges, including lethal hostage-taking.

Judge T.S. Ellis branded Kotey’s actions as “violent and inhumane”.

In a letter that Kotey had penned before being sentenced, he claimed he took “full responsibility” for his actions.

In 2022, he was sentenced to life in prison — with 15 years to be served in the US before a potential transfer to the UK.

On the podcast, Miquita quickly moved on from the revelation, saying: “It’s not my story to tell, so let’s move on!”

At the peak of its power from 2014-2017, the so-called Islamic State ruled over millions of people and claimed responsibility for or inspired attacks in dozens of cities around the world.

Its leader, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, declared a caliphate over a quarter of Iraq and Syria in 2014, before he was killed in a raid by US special forces in Syria in 2019 as the group’s rule collapsed.

HORRIFIC MURDER

David Haines from Perth in Scotland was captured by militants in Syria in March 2013 while delivering aid to the war-torn country.

The father of two was beheaded in 2014 after being held by the terrorist cell dubbed “The Beatles” because of their English accents.

Footage of his murder was posted online. His remains have never been discovered.

British national El Shafee Elsheikh was also sentenced to life in a US jail for his involvement in the plot to kill hostages.

A third man, Mohammed Emwazi, dubbed Jihadi John, who was believed to have featured in shocking videos of IS beheadings of a number of captives, was killed in a drone strike in 2015.

David’s daughter Bethany marked 10 years since his tragic death in October.

Friends and family gathered in Perth for the service, which Bethany said was organised to celebrate the life of her father and to remember all other hostages.

Speaking at the service, Bethany said: “It’s hard to believe it is 10 years since my world was shattered and I had to accept that I was never going to see my dad again.

“It has been a long and hard 10 years with many ups and downs. The pain has never gone away and probably never will but I learned to cope with it and channel my energies into positive things.”

She continued: “He would not want to be remembered as the man in the orange jumpsuit, he would want to be remembered as the man who loved his family, who was generous, who wanted to help in any way he could and who loved life.”

She described her father as “strong, kind and caring” and said he would have loved becoming a grandfather and spending time with her son.
