Shoppers rushing to M&S for ‘awesome’ loaded Easter Egg stuffed with marshmallows and jelly

M&S shoppers have been rushing to their closest store to find a brand new loaded Easter Egg which is stuffed with marshmallows and jelly.

The mouthwatering “Dippy Whippy” egg is set to be a best seller with customers already raving about the “awesome” sweet treat.

The egg is far from your traditional Easter snack with it only being made up of one half rather than the usual two.

This is because it is completely filled to the brim with extra goodies inside the milk chocolate shell.

Packed inside is a mixture of crunchy, chewy and soft sensations made up of orange mini eggs, orange jelly and marshmallow.

Several smaller orange whip domes are also among the delightful desserts which contain more mallow inside resembling a runny egg.

The incredible 345g Easter Egg is also modestly priced at just £12 – far cheaper than many other speciality eggs on the market.

The official M&S website describes the loaded egg by saying: “Go dippy for our Dippy Whippy Loaded Egg this Easter.

“A creamy milk chocolate half egg is fully loaded with mallow and orange mini whips, orange speckled eggs, and orange jelly pieces.”

The egg soon caught the eye of shoppers online once it was shared on social media with many vowing to take a trip to M&S soon to bag it up.

One customer excitedly wrote: “Neeeeeedd this one my absolute fave.”

Another happily told her friend: “Omg!!! I need it.”

As a third simply said: “Looks awesome!”

To get your hands on the egg, check out the store locator tool online to find your nearest branch.

M&S are always coming out with fresh takes on Easter treats with this years range being no different.

Another egg which has caught the eyes of shoppers is the new Scrummy Bunny Munch Loaded Egg.

The egg is filled with the brand’s popular Easter munch mix, which combines jelly-fied eggs, jelly carrots, white chocolate and raspberry popcorn, milk chocolate pretzels and more.

One shopper couldn’t wait to share the find, posting a picture online and calling it: “the chunky, crunchy, loaded milk chocolate half egg of dreams.”

The egg also costs £12 and is available both in store and on Ocado to order online.

Elsewhere, competition is heating up for which supermarket will be crowned at the kings of Easter.

Tesco are exclusively selling three new Lindt Easter egg flavours.

They feature the Lindor Milk Chocolate Egg with Lindor Pistachio Truffles, Lindor Tiramisu Egg, and the Extra Large Salted Caramel Egg.

Morrisons have also slashed the price of their Easter Eggs this year down to £2.50 from £4.

The offer applies to dozens of egg varieties, from Cadbury‘s Twirl, Skittles, and Twix to Rolo, Smarties, Mars and Maltesers.

Another supermarket who has decided to launch a never-before-seen chocolate treat is Waitrose.

They have quite literally broken the mould with a new croissant-shaped Easter Egg which is scanning for £15.

The description on the gold and black packaging read: “Ooh la la… a perfectly shaped croissant made of rich blonde chocolate, drizzled with milk chocolate and sprinkled with crunchy chocolate crumbs”.

How to compare prices to get the best deal

JUST because something is on offer, or is part of a sale, it doesn't mean it's always a good deal.

There are plenty of comparison websites out there that’ll check prices for you – so don’t be left paying more than you have to.

Most of them work by comparing the prices across hundreds of retailers.

Here are some that we recommend:

  • Google Shopping is a tool that lets users search for and compare prices for products across the web. Simply type in keywords, or a product number, to bring up search results.
  • Price Spy logs the history of how much something costs from over 3,000 different retailers, including Argos, Amazon, eBay and the supermarkets. Once you select an individual product you can quickly compare which stores have the best price and which have it in stock.
  • Idealo is another website that lets you compare prices between retailers. All shoppers need to do is search for the item they need and the website will rank them from the cheapest to the most expensive one.
  • CamelCamelCamel only works on goods being sold on Amazon. To use it, type in the URL of the product you want to check the price of.

Iconic car firm ‘on brink of collapse’ could be merged with billion dollar tech giant that makes Apple’s iPhones

AN iconic car firm “on the brink of collapse” could be merged with a billion dollar tech giant that makes Apple’s iPhones.

Struggling Nissan is still looking for investors after a breakdown in merger talks with Honda recently.

But Taiwanese powerhouse Foxconn could save them[/caption]

However, there may still be hope for Nissan’s survival as a new lifeline has potentially emerged.

Japanese paper Nikkei reports that that Taiwanese electronics manufacturer Foxconn may be the right suitor for Nissan.

Foxconn, best known for building the iPhone for Apple, has reportedly proposed a new partnership with Honda, according to the outlet.

It would look to create a four-way partnership that would bring Nissan into the fold, along with Mitsubishi Motors.

Foxconn is the world’s largest contract electronics manufacturer and builds devices for major tech companies, including Apple’s iPhones.

But it has been moving to diversify beyond electronics assembly, pushing into areas ranging from electric vehicles to semiconductors and servers.

Earlier this month, Foxconn said it would consider taking a stake in Nissan for cooperation.

“If cooperation requires it (purchasing Nissan shares), we will consider it,” Foxconn chairman Young Liu told reporters.

The Taiwanese tech giant reportedly asked Renault to sell its 35 percent stake in Nissan in December but was knocked back before the merger talks were announced.

Talks between Nissan and Honda broke down after two months of negotiations.

Merger talks between the two motoring giants were cancelled this month, with one senior Nissan official strongly objecting to the “rude things” his company had been told.

A merger with Honda would have cut costs for both companies, but there were reportedly two key reasons behind the collapse in talks.

Firstly, discomfort came from Honda’s demand that Nissan would become its subsidiary, something the latter felt went against previous agreements, reports The Japan News.

Secondly, Honda also told Nissan to restructure its business and abandon its original hybrid vehicle (HV) system, e-Power, in order to adopt Honda’s HV system.

Nissan has been struggling with sales in recent years, brought about by poor management decisions and a failure to adapt to the growing electric vehicle (EV) market.

Worries have been further exacerbated by the Zero-Emission Vehicle, or ZEV, mandate, requiring 28 per cent of car sales to be electric in 2025 — or face fines of £15,000 for every car they fall short on.

Nissan remains an attractive business partner due to its capital ties with Mitsubishi Motors and foothold in south-east Asia.

However, it was previously a top contender for its EV production but recently has struggled to keep up with Toyota and Honda.

The company published its financial outlook for the year ending in March and a net loss of hundreds of millions of pounds has been predicted.

Industry insiders have revealed that Nissan is now open to mergers with other automotive or technology firms.

One of the potential companies is Foxconn, also known as Hon Hai Technology Group.

This follows the 9,000 job losses that were witnessed at Nissan.

Without much-needed support, a Nissan official has claimed that the firm only has “12 to 14 months to survive”.

The brand also runs the UK’s largest car factory in Sunderland but pressure from the Government’s EV sales targets has played a part in Nissan’s woes.

BMW slams brakes on £600m investment in Oxfordshire Mini Cooper assembly plant where EVs would have been made

BMW has slammed the breaks on its multi-million pound investment in the Mini plant in Oxfordshire as demand for electric vehicles plummets.

The assembly plant in Cowley is one of the nation’s most vital and historic car factories, but it is facing turmoil after a £600 million investment has been halted.

The investment would see the plant roll out electric vehicles[/caption]

BMW announced in 2023 that it would invest in the factory built in 1913 to improve its operations, allowing it to manufacture electric vehicles.

It was hoped that by next year, the plant would be pushing electric Mini Cooper’s and electric Mini Aceman SUV’s off the production line.

The deal came under Rishi Sunak‘s government which included £60 million in taxpayer subsidies.

The move by BMW saw the manufacturer invest in the UK industry after previously taking the production of its electric Mini’s to cheaper factories in China.

But now, the German car manufacturer has said that it is “reviewing” the plans as the electric market fails to take off in the UK.

Despite calling Plant Oxford “the heart of Mini production,” it may not be the right time for the investment.

The company said: “Given the multiple uncertainties facing the automotive industry, the BMW Group is currently reviewing the timing for reintroducing battery-electric Mini production in Oxford.”

It comes as carmakers face ever-increasing government quotas regarding the sale of electric vehicles.

Under the UK’s zero emissions vehicle mandate, 28 per cent of all UK sales must come from electric cars – last year it was 22 per cent.

But, ministers are looking at relaxing the strict rules as EVs made up only 21 per cent of the almost 140,000 new cars registered in the UK last month.

David Bailey, a professor of business economics at the Birmingham Business School told The Times: “What we’re seeing is the demand for electric vehicles not increasing as rapidly as had been anticipated and therefore a number of manufacturers basically going back on their pledges to go all electric and slowing down investment in electric vehicles.

“Now, that’s obviously impacting Oxford.”

Industry experts believed that demand for EVs has stalled due to the huge upfront cost compared to petrol and diesel alternatives even with a government grant to help buyers.

But, government sources have pushed the blame onto Brussels saying that BMW’s U-turn on the investment is not related to the EV mandates but rather EU tariffs.

They claim the carmaker is being hard hit by new tariffs on imports from the electric vehicles it is making in China.

On the two BMW Mini electric models, the company pays 20.7 per cent under the tariffs introduced in October.

A government source told The Times: “It makes sense for them at a group level to hold off on this investment to see if they can get any flex out of our EV mandate, and if Germany’s lobbying to the EU with respect to their EV targets is successful.”

The move by BMW comes just two weeks after Jaguar Land Rover warned the government it would cut back on UK investments unless changes to the EV mandate were made.

Under Labour, petrol and diesel cars are set to be phased out in five years time.

LUTON CLOSURE

Earlier this month, Vauxhall confirmed it would shut its major factory in Luton in a move impacting over 1,000 jobs.

The factory will close in April 2025 with other companies like Citroen, Fiat and Peugeot also threatening the same action.

The plans were first announced in November 2024 and the company blamed the UK’s switch to electric vehicles and the ZEV Mandate.

After the closure in Luton, the machinery will be transported to Ellesmere Port in Cheshire, where electric vans are already being produced.

The decision comes months after the Vauxhall owner Stellantis, which also owns the likes of Citroen, Fiat, Jeep, Peugeot and Maserati, warned it may halt production in the UK.

The ZEV Mandate, which are the strict new rules that aim to limit the sales of new petrol and diesel vehicles in the UK ahead of a 2035 ban, have been criticised by the car giant for its proposed penalties on car-manufacturing.

Luton Council hit out against the decision, claiming they offered “numerous options to save the plant but they were rejected” by Stellantis.

The closure will put 1,100 jobs at risk.

Millie Bright says England ‘have a lot of work to do’ before facing Nations League rivals Spain

MILLIE BRIGHT wants England to get to “a place of consistency” following a winless start in their first Nations League outing this year.

The Lioness vice-captain, 31, says the team have much to do before their Wembley clash with World Cup winners Spain.

England’s next opponents Spain battled from 2-0 down to secure a 3-2 win in their Nations League clash with Belgium[/caption]

Friday night saw the reigning Euros champs held to a draw by plucky Portugal after Kika Nazareth’s curled strike caught the visitors out following Alessia Russo’s opener.

The 1-1 result at Portimao Stadium  has led to questions about the Lionesses’ recent mixed form before one of their biggest international tests this year.

On Wednesday they face a battle with a side aiming to swipe their Euros crown having  beaten them in the 2023 World Cup final in Sydney, Australia.

Despite their Friday night draw, Bright has backed England to get closer to the “levels they want to be at” before their Euros title defence begins in July.

When asked if she had any concerns about the team’s form, Bright said: “No, not at all.

“Football is a journey and we’ve been in this position before when we’re in a really good place and things are going our way.

“But then we go through moments where other teams progress and get better.

“We’ve still got a lot of work to do and that’s just part of the game.

“There is work to be done but we’re aware of what we need to do.

“With each game we just have to make sure we keep closing the gap and get closer and closer to the levels we want to be at.

“Putting that work in on the training pitch is the most important thing.”

Including their result on Friday England have been winless in three of their last seven Nations League games since September 2023.

Two of these results include away losses to the Netherlands and Belgium.

In two of their last four friendlies of 2024, they fell to a 4-3 loss to 2022 Euros finalists Germany, whilst also drawing 0-0 with Emma Hayes’ USA stars.

England’s score draw with Portugal was the second time since July 2023 that the 22nd best team in the world have shared the spoils with Sarina Wiegman’s side.

Bright added: “With the (Fifa) rankings people might look at those and think we should be battering this team but as players we don’t look at it like that.

“We’ve seen the results they’ve been getting, their performances and the threats they challenged us with.

“We’re just going to focus on working on ourselves.

“We have to keep that strong mindset to know that we’ve got to get to where we want to be.”

Where England fans hope the Lionesses will be next is on the winning side of their next Nations League encounter.

An upcoming clash with Spain will see Wiegman’s players go toe-to-toe with the team that denied them a dream  World Cup win in Australia almost two years ago.

On Friday their Spain battled back from 2-0 down against Belgium, to seal a dramatic 3-2 win in group two of League A in the Nations League.

However Bright believes there are positives England can build on before facing Spain.

The 85-capped Lioness said: “As a group we are trying to get to that place of consistency, but that takes time.

Alessia Russo reckons England need to be more rutless with scoring chances in their next Nations League game[/caption]

“There are lots of things to work on and when you’re playing a top team that poses threats.

“I think the biggest thing is just keeping the ball better and the possession all over the pitch.

“We need to just stick together as a group, get back on the training pitch and work hard and be ready for a big game on Wednesday.”

PlayStation has to stop keeping its best games a secret – Reader’s Feature

Returnal key art
Returnal – very good, but not very well known (Sony Interactive Entertainment)

A reader is frustrated that some of the most critically acclaimed games on PS4 and PS5 are not properly marketed by Sony and many fans have never heard of them.

I was surprised to find that the State Of Play from the other week was fairly unpopular with a lot of PlayStation fans. I only realised afterwards that Sony only really announced one new game, but since that was Saros, the spiritual sequel to Returnal, I was more than happy with the showcase. In fact, I was ecstatic, even though they didn’t show any gameplay.

It later dawned on me that it wasn’t just the lack of gameplay that had put people off, but the fact that the majority didn’t even know what Returnal was. In my opinion – and I know GC agree with this – it’s the best exclusive on PlayStation 5 and one of the absolute best games of the last decade. But it wasn’t a very big hit and Sony didn’t advertise it very well.

It won the BAFTA game of the year, and five other awards, when it came out and yet I’m genuinely surprised Sony allowed Housemarque to make a follow-up (with an even weirder and more difficult to spell name). Then I thought about it some more and realised that they’re always like this with games that aren’t one of their big franchises.

The obvious recent example is Astro Bot, which we know they don’t think of as a big franchise, because the Sony boss said there were no major franchises sequels coming out last year – because apparently Astro Bot doesn’t count. It won almost every game of the year award going and yet all that led to is a vague promise from Sony to make more ‘family games’.

And then of course we’ve got Bloodborne, the best exclusive on the PlayStation 4 and another contender for best game of the 21st century, and apparently Sony has forgotten they published it. Not even a PlayStation 5 patch, even while every other game gets one and Bloodborne would’ve have especially benefited from it, given its technical issues.

Speaking of FromSoftware, there was also Demon’s Souls, which Sony did such a bad job of promoting that From refused to let them publish Dark Souls. I’m not even impressed by the effort they made with things like LittleBigPlanet or Ape Escape, which they pretend are classic PlayStation franchises but which most normal gamers have never heard of. And don’t get me started about Puppeteer!

Sony puts out some fantastic, best of the best, games but they never really seem to know how to sell most of them, if they’re not straightforward story or action games. They gave Shadow Of The Colossus a remake, for example, but I don’t feel they marketed either the original or the new version enough, to the point where normal people have never heard of them.

I know my COD and FIFA playing cousin has heard of The Last Of Us and God Of War, even if I’m not sure if he’s really played them (he says he has), but writing this I asked him about these other games I’ve mentioned and he didn’t know what any of them are. Well, he recognised Astro Bot but knew nothing about the game or when it had come out.

I feel Nintendo does a lot better job with this sort of thing than Sony, pushing even relatively minor games in order to give them the best chance possible. Worse than that I always get the feeling that Sony’s marketing teams are faintly embarrassed by some of their more imaginative and unusual games. That would almost be fair enough, but this problem has been going on for decades at this point.

Sony has published some of the best games of the last several years and yet none of them have been big sellers and none of them are things that they’ve really tried to promote. Maybe they just see them as prestige products, only made to earn awards, but they can be so much more. These are some of the best games ever made and yet they’re completely flying under a lot of people’s radar.
