Simon Cowell said he wears red glasses to “filter” out the laser-like beams and prevent unbearableheadaches.
He suffers with migraine likely caused by photophobia – sensitivity to light – after spending long hours under bright filming lights.
Research shows some people with photophobia may benefit from migraine glasses, which can cost as little as £20.
A study, published in the Journal of Clinical Neuroscience, showed “lenses outfitted with a thin-film optical notch filter may be useful in treating chronic migraine”.
However the NHS does not suggest wearing them as a potential aid.
Rob Music, chief executive of The Migraine Trust said: “At the moment, there is not enough high-quality scientific evidence for us to know whether these glasses help people with migraines or not, so we cannot recommend them.”
Prof Peter Goadsby, of King’s College London, tells Sun Health: “Some of those with migraines do find relief with tints.

One of this was a short clip of Lily cradling her ”bump” while telling social media users ”it’s official”.
The video was an animated version of the original snap, which showed the OnlyFans model wearing a figure-fitting spaghetti strap top with a pair of flared bottoms, that Lily captioned: ”The secret is out.
While one of these appeared to be positive, the second one had a very faint second line – and it seemed to be inconclusive.
Although it has not yet been confirmed whether Lily is indeed expecting a child, the announcement was met with largely scepticism.
One person urged: ”Don’t fall for this stunt. Remember they just out for you attention.”
”This is not real,” another thought.
”She wearing a fake baby bump,” someone else chimed in.
Some suggested the photograph of Lily’s bump was generated by AI while others questioned her appearance in previous posts, with one eagle-eyed web user person noting: ”You were ultra skinny in the gym like 12 hours ago!

Many are also now questioning who the father could be, especially after Lily claimed to have bedded 101 men in a sick challenge last year.

Born in May 1999, Bonnie – whose real name is Tia Billinger – grew up in a small Derbyshire village, and attended the Friesland School in the village of Sandiacre.
She has two half-siblings – a sister and a brother – who have always remained out of the public eye.
She never knew her biological father, and considers stepfather Nicholas Elliott her dad.

The controversial model, who has made millions from her X-rated content, took to her Instagram page to share a snap of her ‘’cravings’’, which included pickles drizzled in chocolate sauce and sprinkles.
The picture, shared with her 369k Instagram followers, also had chicken nuggets and dry noodles.
Since posting the picture, Bonnie – real name Tia Billinger – from Derbyshire, has set social media ablaze with speculation, particularly on X (formerly known as Twitter).
One wrote: “Tough times ahead for the lad who got Bonnie Blue pregnant, partly for actually having the kid with her but mostly for the amount of abuse he’ll get when the world finds out he lasts less than 40 seconds.”

The cryptic post comes just after a bombshell exclusive interview with The Sun Newspaper where Bonnie spilled the beans about her relationship status.
Before becoming an adult content creator, Bonnie had a normal life, married to private schoolboy Oliver Davidson, who she met aged 15.

She said: “He’s moving nearer home so I’ll be seeing him near enough every day.
“He’s entitled to a mobility car because he doesn’t fit into small cars because of his size.
“Now the problem is they won’t insure me as his carer because of my licence.
“So that’s another bridge I’ve got to overcome. I’m his mum and the one who will be driving him around.”
Mum-of-five Katie has been banned from driving six times and revealed last month she was back behind the wheel after her latest disqualification.
Katie said: “I got my licence back but I couldn’t get insured on any of the cars – it was going to cost be £150k a year, £7k a month, who’s going to pay that, that’s ridiculous.”
Continuing she added: “So I went to rent a car, I could rent a car and pay £1,600 a month to rent a car and I thought ‘oh let’s just see if I can get insured on my car’ and it went through.

Veteran Phil Taylor, also known as “The Power”, is one of the most successful darts players of all time.
The Power won the World Championship a record 16 times, the most of any player in history, and made the final 21 times.
The darting scene has seen a huge uptick in interest since the debut of teenage sensation Luke Littler – but Taylor is one of the pioneers of the sport.
In fact, the 64-year-old was one of the founders of the PDC in 1993.
During his peak, Taylor appeared in the World Darts Championship final EVERY YEAR between 1994 and 2007, losing just three times.
His final win in the tournament came in 2013 against Michael van Gerwen, while his last final appearance was against Rob Cross in 2018 in a 7-2 loss to the current world number four.

Phil Taylor quit his day job in the ceramic industry to become a full-time darts player in 1987 and went on to establish himself as a legend of the sport.
He dominated darts for over two decades, winning 214 professional tournaments – including 85 major titles and a record 16 World Championships.
The Power won his first World Championship in 1990, three years after becoming a professional player, and clinched his second two years later.
He then won eight consecutive world titles from 1995 to 2002.
Among his incredible list of accolades are 16 World Matchplay titles, 11 World Grand Prix titles, five UK Open titles, four European Championship titles and six Grand Slam titles.
Taylor also won six Premier League titles, four Championship League titles, five Desert Classic titles. two US Open titles, a UK Masters title and a World Masters title.
His incredible achievements saw him nominated for the BBC Sports Personality of the Year award in 2006 and 2010, finishing as runner-up in the latter year.
Taylor won his last World Championship in 2013.

Ken and Diane Lott, both 81, were in tears after arriving home from a gig on the Isle of Wight when they saw the damage on February 9.

The couple, who live in Hockley, Essex, found manure had been smeared across their letterbox during the incident which they caught on CCTV.
The footage shows a woman at 10.30pm on February 8 at the front of their property holding manure in newspaper.
It also shows the woman at their front door with what they believe is the lid of glue in her mouth and she leans over the keyhole.
Mr and Mrs Lott were targeted in a similar act of vandalism on April 28 last year in which shocking CCTV showed paint stripper poured over their cars.
They believe the same person is responsible for both incidents and are appealing for the woman to stop.
Daughter Julie, 47, was horrified by the attack on her parents’ home and has published CCTV pictures on social media.
She said: “My mum was in tears last night, both my parents are incredibly distressed.
“No one needs things like this happening at any time of life let alone at the age of 81.
“My parents got home on the Sunday to find a key glued into their front door lock and when they pulled the newspaper out of the letterbox it was covered in what looks like manure.
“CCTV shows the person concerned entered the drive with a red umbrella up but they put it down to open the glue and so we have a very clear picture.
“We as a family have no idea why this has happened and we do not recognise the person involved but it is definitely the same person as vandalised the cars last year.
“We just want to know who is doing this and why and to get this behaviour stopped.
“I just want this person found. This is much more than damage to a door. It’s harassment.
“I am infuriated and I want this person brought to justice. This is targeted, calculated behaviour and cannot be allowed to continue.”
The attack on the couple’s home back in April last year saw paint stripper poured over the family’s two cars.
Black paint was also sprayed over all the car windows and construction foam sprayed into the cars’ exhaust pipes and the front door lock.
Both cars had to be written off.
An Essex Police spokesperson said: “We are investigating an allegation of criminal damage in which a door was damaged at a property in Main Road, Hockley.
“The damage was reported to the police at around 3.15 pm on Sunday 9th February.”

A multi-vehicle crash this morning in Surrey on the M23 has lead to heavy congestion and standstill traffic.
Cops, Surrey Fire & Rescue service and South East Coast Ambulance arrived at the scene and sections of the road are now closed off.
The smash, which happened between junction J9, Gatwick, and J10, Crawley, has lead to a section of the road to be blocked off leaving thousands of motorist stuck.
National Highways South-East said: “M23 south between J9 GatwickAirport & J10 Crawley following a multi-vehicle collision.
“Surrey Police, Surrey Fire & Rescue service and South East Coast Ambulance are all working at scene, Traffic Officers assisting with traffic management Diversion via ‘Hollow Diamond.'”
Drivers have been asked to use the M23 southbound at junction 9 onto the Gatwick Spur to avoid the congestion.
Sussex Police said: “The M23 is closed southbound between junction 9 and 10, in the Pound Hill, Crawley, area this morning while emergency services deal with a collision.
“The road is expected to remain closed for some time, and motorists are asked to please avoid the area if possible.”

Michael Greco, 54, who played Beppe di Marco on the long-running soap from 1998 until 2002, spilled the tea on the incident back in the 90s.
The actor was part of the Di Marco clan who were introduced to EastEnders as rivals to the infamous Mitchell family.
Alongside Beppe, the line-up also included brother Gianni played by Marc Bannerman.
Now, over two decades late Michael has revealed the Di Marco/Mitchell feud spilled out into real life.
The former soap star said there was an incident during filming, which saw actor Steve fuming – and resulted in him not speaking to Michael or his on-screen brother Marc for months.
Speaking on Suffolk Sound Radio, he said: “When I was doing a scene with my on screen brother Gianni played by Marc Bannerman, we were filming with the Mitchell brothers, and Gianna improvised and spat on the floor and Steve went mental, effing and jeffing, I thought he was going to hit Marc, he went crazy.
“I was looking at my script thinking, I don’t think that was in the script and the director had to come over and tell Steve to calm down.
Continuing with the tale, Michael said: “And the director came over and told us that Steve wanted to send us to Coventry, I didn’t know what that meant.
“I turned to Marc and said, I don’t want to go to Coventry, why do they want to send us to there?!”
“So from that moment, they didn’t speak to us for about 6 months!”
“I didn’t get the call, I wasn’t asked to go back at all,” Michael said.
“I’m not on their radar so, I think if wasn’t asked back to help with their 40th I don’t think I never go back.”
However, it’s not all bad news for the actor.
Despite not appearing on EastEnders for a number of years, he still earns money from the soap.
He admitted: “Yeah I know about the re-runs. I get a £1.27 repeat fees every six months from episodes.”
