EastEnders confirms fan favourite is missing in explosion aftermath as residents fight for their lives

EASTENDERS has confirmed a fan favourite is missing in the aftermath of a horrifying explosion.

Flames tore through the Queen Vic in shocking scenes – with many residents’ lives now at risk.

Martin finds Lily – but is desperately looking for Stacey[/caption]

EastEnders has released first-look pictures at the explosion’s aftermath shown in tomorrow’s episode.

The special hour-long instalment officially marks the BBC soap’s 40th anniversary.

Soap legend Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) is feared dead after the huge blast.

Ex-husband Martin Fowler (James Bye) desperately tries to find Stacey in the rubble.

Viewers watched Stacey confess she still had feelings for Martin before the explosion – only to be rebuffed.

Stacey first appeared in the BBC soap back in 2004 – but has her time come to an end?

Additionally, the images show various other characters caught up following the explosion.

Many residents had been celebrating Billy’s (Perry Fenwick) and Honey’s (Emma Barton) wedding when it unfolded.

In one image, the newlyweds can be seen tearfully hugging each other.

Ravi Gulati (Aaron Thiara), Freddie Slater (Bobby Brazier) and Jean Slater (Gillian Wright) are also shown.

Meanwhile, Reiss crashed his car after Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins) pushed Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) into its path.

This followed Cindy’s unidentified Christmas Day attacker finally being revealed to fans.

As for Reiss, the killer – who murdered wife Debbie last year – had been attempting to flee Albert Square.

His former captive Bianca (Patsy Palmer) encountered him again in No.25.

EastEnders' 40th anniversary cameos so far

With the 40th anniversary of EastEnders coming up, fans are looking forward to some more incredible cameos from iconic faces of Walford's past. But who have we had so far?

Tracy-Ann Oberman – Oberman returned as Chrissie Watts, a character she last played nearly two decades ago.

Paul Bradley – Bradley returned as Nigel Bates, a character he last played over 25 years ago.

Micheal French – French returned as David Wicks, a character he last played two decades ago.

Patsy Palmer – Palmer returned as Bianca Jackson, a character she last played in 2019.

Ricky Groves – Groves returned as Garry Hobbs, a character who has not been seen since 2009.

Cliff Parisi – Parisi returned as Minty Peterson, a character who was last seen on the square in 2010.

Ross Kemp – Kemp has returned to play Grant Mitchell, a character he first played in 1990. The BBC has described Kemp’s storyline as “explosive”. Kemp said it was an “absolute honour” to return to the show.

Other aspects of the 40th anniversary celebration include: A wedding between fan favorites, A huge explosion at the Queen Vic, and A live interactive episode.

Bianca tried calling the police, but Reiss subdued her and threw the phone to one side before running off.

Later, Reiss swerved his vehicle to avoid Ian, setting off the tragic chain of events.

Who will survive the horrific tragedy?

EastEnders continues on BBC One and iPlayer.

Home Bargains has brought back viral garden buy for just £3.99 and it’s the cheapest on the market

HOME Bargains delighted shoppers after bringing back a popular solar light.

The jazzy garden accessory with a flickering flame effect is on sale for just £3.99.

The colourful light is the perfect garden addition[/caption]

Made by Firefly Solar Light Co, the ornament is shaped like a hot air balloon.

The bargain buy automatically turns on after sundown and comes with a rechargeable battery.

Dangling from the delicate glass ‘balloon’ is a tiny gold basket.

A photo of the £3.99 lights was shared on Bargain Lovers Facebook page with the caption: “Look what’s coming back at Home Bargains!!”

The post quickly gathered plenty of likes, with one person writing: “Love these got one last year look so cute when there light up xx”

A second added: “I want a couple of these, we’ll have to do a trip,” one wrote, tagging a friend.

“Oh my word these are £20 in garden centres!” echoed another.

Every time Home Bargains brings them back on sale they run out fast, with them currently out of stock online.

Despite soaring costs of living, the light is one pound cheaper than when it first took shoppers by storm last year.

It’s worth checking with your local branch to see if it has the balloons in stock.

You can find your nearest Home Bargains branch by using the retailer’s store locator on its website.

Of course, always to remember to shop around before buying anything like this as you might find the item cheaper elsewhere.

Websites like Price Spy let you compare prices on thousands of products to find out where it will cost you the least.

You can also have a quick scan on the Google Shopping/Product tab to see how much retailers are selling a particular item for.

We had a quick look online to see if other chains are selling a similar-style hot air balloon solar light, and couldn’t find any.

Homebase has one in stock for £10.50 while Amazon has one in stock for £9.49.

This comes as shoppers go mad for a 99p cure for winter sniffles – and even celebrities can’t get enough.

TOWIE star Bobby Norris is the latest famous face to rave about the 99p product – Nuage’s vapour bath salts.

“Now when I tell you these sell out quick, this is what we’re at,” he said in a video on his TikTok page, turning the camera to show that there were only a few left on the shelf.

“It’s like the locusts have been!”

He urged people to “run like a thief in the night” to their local Home Bargains, calling the product a “game changer”.

“We’ve all got stinking colds,” he sighed.

“We’re having a terrible time I think. So I would suggest, if you like a bath salt or a shower tablet, get involved.

“Vapour is the way.

“And with everything going round at the minute… you need it in your life.

“I grabbed a couple because as I say, they sell out so so quick.”

If you aren’t a bath person, it also comes in tablet form for the shower.

And other Home Bargains shoppers were quick to agree with Bobby in the comments section, with one writing: “When you know you know!”

“Ooh I’ll grab some!” another added.

“I’m going to get some of them,” a third said.

“Home Bargs is the best place!” someone else gushed.

SunSport understands former Arsenal, Southampton, Fulham and West Ham midfielder Boa Morte, 47, is set to hold talks with Ewood Park chiefs  in the coming days.

Boa Morte has been in charge of the Guinea-Bissau national team since March, following a three-year stint as Marco Silva’s No 2 at Fulham.

But the ex-Portugal international would be swayed by the Rovers gig.

Former Aston Villa and Middlesbrough midfielder George Boateng, 49, is also in the running.

He has only one other managerial job – Kelantan in Malaysia – but has held various coaching roles across English football.

Boateng previously coached in the Blackburn youth setup, taking charge of their under-13s in 2018.

He left Coventry City last year after the arrival of Frank Lampard to the Sky Blues after spells coaching the Ghana national team and Villa.

Blackburn currently sit fifth in the Championship and are hopeful of a play-off place.

Second Cabinet minister accused of lying on their CV – after Rachel Reeves HBOS scandal

A SECOND Cabinet minister was accused of sexing up their CV last night.

Business Secretary Jonathan Reynolds, above, repeatedly described himself as a solicitor despite never qualifying.

The Tories said last night he may have broke the law as impersonating a lawyer is an offence.

Reynolds had claimed online and in the Commons chamber that he worked as a solicitor for Manchester firm Addleshaw Goddard before becoming an MP – but he was only a trainee.

In 2011 he tweeted: “Personally, I find being an MP better for work/life balance than being a solicitor and a councillor.”

In a speech in 2014 that he “worked as a solicitor in Manchester city centre” before entering Parliament.

But he never completed his training after quitting to become and MP in 2010 as was never registered with Solicitors Regulation Authority, according to the Guido Fawkes blog.

Last night his office said the claims were a “mistake”.

But Shadow Business Secretary Andrew Griffith hit out: “There is a clear pattern here.

A Labour Party misleading voters, a Chancellor who lied about being an economist and now another minister who has lied about being a solicitor.

Keir Starmer needs to get a grip on his party’s relationship with the truth.” It comes after Chancellor Rachel Reeves was forced to change her online CV after boasting she had worked as a economist at the Bank of England for a decade.

And she removed claims she had been an economist at the Bank of Scotland between 2006 and 2009 after it emerged she actually worked in the complaints department.

Since then she has faced questions over her expenses and other claims she had written for a respected economic publication.

What is OnlyFans?

OnlyFans is a subscription content service based in London.

As of 2023, it is thought to have more than 220million registered users and over three million content creators.

Sex workers charge monthly fees for access to pictures, videos and more.

While popular for porn, the site isn’t exclusively designed with that in mind – anyone who wants to build up a fan base and charge them for it can set one up.

Celebs like Katie Price and Kerry Katona are popular personalities on the platform.

“Whether you’re uploading tutorials, tips, behind-the-scenes footage or just endless selfies, a lot of your followers would be willing to pay for them,” the company states.

For every subscription that’s sold to a viewer, performers get 80 per cent of the cash while OnlyFans gets the rest.

It isn’t limited to adult content, as it has become popular with physical fitness experts and musicians.
