‘Relegation looming’ fear fans as scary omen hints Man Utd may have to prepare for Championship after ‘worst season’

MANCHESTER UNITED fans have been left fearing they could be RELEGATED after falling to a dismal defeat to Tottenham.

James Maddison‘s first-half rebound was enough to separate the two teams as the Red Devils fell to 15th in the Premier League.

The result has left Ruben Amorim‘s side 10 points above the relegation zone.

But their 12th defeat from 25 league games has also highlighted a very bad omen for Man Utd.

According to OptaJoe, the 12 defeats are the most from their first 25 matches of a league campaign since 1973-74.

That season in the old First Division saw the tally stand at 13 defeats.

And that season saw Man Utd relegated from the top flight.

Reacting to the ominous figure, one fan said: “Relegation looming.”

A second said: “They’re sure to be relegated this season as well.”

A third added: “Relegation Reds.”

Another said: “And so we should be. It has gone on for too many years this. A name alone can’t win the league yet many seem to think because we are Man Utd that we should. Glazers have killed the club year after year.”

A fifth joked: “They break records every season.”

Man Utd’s plans for the game were hit by severe disruption as SIX stars ended up being ruled out, four through injury and two more through illness.

Amorim ended up selecting eight teenagers on the bench against Spurs, with seven coming directly from the academy.

However, he inexplicably made his one and only roll of the dice in injury time by bringing on Chido Obi for Casemiro.

Fans labelled the 40-year-old a “coward” for the decision, with many believing the Carrington products could have offered more than some of the senior stars on the pitch.

It was also a move which seemingly rejected the club’s motto: “Youth, Courage and Greatness.”

Meanwhile, Jamie Redknapp has warned Man Utd to expect another 18 months of pain as they need a full cultural reset.

Charlie Brooks became the latest celebrity to be given the boot after failing to win over the judges support after being sent into the dance-off with Anton Ferdinand.

After both delivering their night’s routine once more, it was down the the judging panel – Jayne Torvill, Christopher Dean, Oti Mabuse and Ashley Banjo – to have their say on who should be going home next.

Ashley, Oti and Jayne opted to eliminate Charlie meaning that no vote from Chris was required.

As this week’s head judge, Christopher Dean had the responsibility of making the casting vote and although it was not required, he insisted that he would have voted to axe Charlie as well.

It was Anton’s second time in the skate-off but the first for soap star Charlie.

Speaking alongside pro partner Eric Radford, Charlie admitted she was ready to leave the show.

Talking to the programme’s hosts, she revealed that she had begun to feel “out of her depth” as she confessed that she was the “right person” to go home.

They became the sixth star to exit the contest after Love Island star Chris Taylor skated away last week.

The current series of Dancing on Ice has not been without its shock eliminations with two of the stars expected to take the crown being booted out in the first two weeks.

Hollyoaks star Chelsee Healey was eliminated first and she was quickly followed by ITV reality star Ferne McCann.

Comedian Josh Jones was also forced to pull out owing to injury whilst Sir Steve Redgrave also was shown the door after being consistently at the bottom of the leaderboard.

The pair were given the task to open the envelope and read out the winner’s name.

The nominees included movies Santosh, Kneecap, Money Man, Hoard and Sister Midnight.

Ahead of announcing the winner, Selena, 32, and Zoe both said: “And the Bafta goes to…”

Zoe then reached to open the gold envelope but it followed an awkward silence, as Selena told Zoe: “You read it.”

Zoe then replied: “You read it.”

They continued to pause, with Zoe glancing over at Selena to check if she was going to announce the winner.

Selena then glared at the paper but whispered: “I don’t know what is says.”

The Calm Down singer then spotted the name on the card and quickly apologised, telling the audience: “Sorry, Kneecap… Rich…”

The camera then cut to Kneecap director and writer Rich Peppiatt, who was seen celebrating in the audience.

The moment did not go unnoticed by fans, with one viewer writing: “What happened to Selena Gomez there.”

A second posted: “It looked like she couldn’t pronounce the winner’s name.”

Despite the accidental hiccup, the People You Know songstress quickly recovered as she presented the award to the winner.

Selena looked sensational in a silver gown with black detail around the chest.

She wore her hair in a classy updo and finished her glamorous look with a subtle makeup.

The star was joined by a string of famous faces, including James Norton, Kylie Jenner and her boyfriend Timothée Chalamet.

But it looks like the celebrities won’t be partying into the night after a huge pre-Baftas bash at the Chiltern Firehouse was cancelled at the last minute after a devastating fire broke out at the venue – a favourite with Hollywood’s elite.

Guests of Netflix, including American A-listers including Selena Gomez, 32, and Zoe Saldana, 46, were thought to have suites booked at the hotel.

Wallace and Gromit creator Nick Park, CBE, is also understood to be due to check into the venue ahead of Sunday’s ceremony.

A source said: “This is the ultimate nightmare for Netflix and organisers.

“Every year they spent tens of thousands of pounds to put on the biggest and best BAFTA afterparty around.

“Right now everything hangs in the balance while they get the blaze under control and assess the damage.”

Dancing on Ice in ‘fix row’ as furious fans accuse judges of repeatedly under-scoring ‘best celebrity skater in years’

DANCING on Ice has found itself embroiled in a ‘fix row’ after fuming fans were left raging at the show’s judging panel and insisted they were repeatedly ‘under-marking’ one star.

The ITV show was awash with backlash when Springwatch presenter Michaela Strachan took to the ice.

Fans have blasted the judging panel[/caption]

Despite having topped the leaderboard at the start of the series, the TV star’s scores have since been beaten by many of her co-stars.

But this has left a bad taste in fans’ mouths after they insisted she is one of the best celebrities to take to the ice in years and exclaimed that she has “winner’s potential”.

During tonight’s show, Michaela opened the show alongside her pro partner Mark Hanretty as they skated to Venus by Bananarama.

Whilst the pair managed to get a respectable 34 out of 40 – they eventually landed second to bottom of the leaderboard following the first round of skating.

It led many fans to quip that the show judges’ scoring of the star has repeatedly decreased despite the fact they think the performance should have received top marks.

Lashing out at the programme, one enraged viewer slammed the decision on X as they said: “SICK of them undermarking Michaela.

“She’s one of the best skaters they’ve had in years and ever since they told her to stop skating on her own as much the marks have stayed the same.”

Another added: “Michaela could have red, white and blue smoke trails coming out of her tutu like a red arrow and still not get a 10 from the judges.”

A third then penned: “I said this last week, but I feel the judges have really thrown Michaela.

“They criticised her for her solo skating / confidence and now she’s playing safe, which she’s being criticised for.”

Before a fourth went on to say: “Why do I get the feeling that the judges want Dan and Vanessa to win over Michaela and Mark?

“It’s like Beth Tweddle all over again, when the judges clearly wanted anyone but her to win for some bizarre reason.”

Banish limescale for good with a 20p kitchen staple – stubborn grime will vanish in minutes and your taps will look new

GETTING rid of limescale isn’t always easy, especially from tricky areas like taps in your kitchen and bathroom.

But did you know you don’t need to fork out on pricey products to get the job done?

You can banish grim limescale with a bargain hack[/caption]
Bottle of ketchup.

The secret ingredient is probably already in your kitchen[/caption]

In fact, the solution you’ve been searching for is likely already in your kitchen cupboards.

Because of minerals like calcium and magnesium in hard water, limescale can form when the water evaporates and and the minerals are left behind.

You can’t use any old products to banish limescale though, as the wrong stuff can damage your taps, depending on what they’re made from.

Speaking to Express.co.uk, cleaning expert Manish Jain, founder of professional cleaning services Ministry of Cleaning, revealed how you can use ketchup to keep your home limescale-free.

“Limescale is not only unsightly but difficult to clean and often requires a whole lot of time as well as expensive cleaning products,” he said.

“That is until now as few realise there are some household ingredients that make removing limescale from certain appliances and items quick and easy.”

According to the pro, ketchup works as a great alternative to harsh cleaning products because of it’s acidic nature.

It turns out the acid in ketchup is perfect for breaking down grime and limescale on your taps – who knew?

So, how should you use ketchup for the best results?

Start with a clean cloth and dip it into the sauce, then simply rub it into your tabs, the pro explained.

Let it sit to work it’s magic for a few minutes before rinsing it off.

The best part is that if you don’t already have some ketchup at home, this hack will cost you as little as 20p, since you can buy a bottle of the red stuff for just £1 in Asda.

And if you don’t fancy that, you can also make use of any lemons you’ve got lying around.

It turns out the citric acid in lemons can also break down mineral deposits, so they’re perfect for cleaning.

Just cut a lemon in half and rub it straight onto your taps before rinsing of minutes later.

OTHER TRICKS TO BANISH LIMESCALE

One clever cleaning fan took to the popular Mrs Hinch Army Cleaning Tip group on Facebook to share her personal favourite hack for keeping limescale at bay – and it’s only cost you 18p.

“So many people ask about cleaning cloudy stained shower screens,” she wrote.

“I’m a cleaner and never stop learning methods. I had the opportunity to do a before and after this week at work.”

According to the keen cleaner, a magic sponge is all you need to banish the white build-up on your shower screen.

“I do this method and the stains vanish every time,” the Facebook user said.

“I use a wet magic sponge (my holy grail!), wipe down with a wet microfibre cloth and buff to a shine with a glass cloth.

“Takes less than a minute. Hope it helps you all.”

The best part is you can snap up a multipack of magic sponges for just a couple of quid, making this hack a budget-friendly one.

pack of 10 will set you back just £1.78 from Viking Direct, which works out at just 18p each – not too shabby at all.

Similar products are also available in most supermarkets, like the Flash Ultra Power Magic Eraser, which will set you back £3 for a pack of two.

More bathroom cleaning tips

Keeping a bathroom clean and fresh can sometimes feel like a daunting task, but with a few practical tips and a regular cleaning schedule, it can be much more manageable.

1. Regular Maintenance

Daily Wipe-Down: A quick daily wipe-down of surfaces, such as the sink, countertops, and taps, can prevent the build-up of grime and soap scum. Keep a microfibre cloth handy for this purpose.

Ventilation: Ensure that your bathroom is well-ventilated to prevent mould and mildew. Open windows or use an extractor fan during and after showers.

2. Tackling Limescale and Hard Water Stains

Vinegar Solution: Hard water can cause limescale build-up on taps and showerheads. Soak a cloth in white vinegar and wrap it around the affected areas for a few hours, then scrub with a brush.

Lemon Juice: Lemon juice is another effective natural cleaner for limescale. Apply it directly to the affected areas, let it sit for a while, and then rinse off.

3. Cleaning the Toilet

Toilet Cleaner: Use a specialised toilet cleaner to scrub the bowl. Apply the cleaner under the rim and allow it to sit for a few minutes before scrubbing with a toilet brush.

Bicarbonate of Soda and Vinegar: For a natural alternative, sprinkle bicarbonate of soda into the bowl, then add vinegar. The fizzing action helps to lift stains and disinfect.

4. Shower and Bath

Showerhead: Remove mineral deposits by soaking the showerhead in a solution of equal parts white vinegar and water. You can do this by filling a plastic bag with the solution and securing it around the showerhead with a rubber band.

Bathtub: Use a non-abrasive cleaner to scrub the bathtub. For stubborn stains, make a paste with bicarbonate of soda and water, apply it to the stains, and let it sit before scrubbing.

5. Tiles and Grout

Grout Cleaner: Grout can harbour mould and mildew. Use a grout cleaner or a mixture of bicarbonate of soda and water to scrub the grout lines. An old toothbrush can be particularly effective for this task.

Tile Cleaner: Regularly clean tiles with a mild detergent or a vinegar solution to keep them shiny and free of soap scum.

6. Mirrors and Glass

Glass Cleaner: Use a glass cleaner or a mixture of vinegar and water to clean mirrors and glass surfaces. Wipe with a microfibre cloth to avoid streaks.

Shower Doors: Prevent soap scum build-up on glass shower doors by using a squeegee to remove water after each use.

7. Floors

Sweep and Mop: Sweep the bathroom floor regularly to remove hair and dust. Mop with a mild detergent or a suitable floor cleaner to maintain cleanliness.

8. Trash and Laundry

Empty Bins: Empty bathroom bins regularly to prevent nasty smelling odours.

Laundry: Keep a small laundry basket in the bathroom for used towels and bathmats, and wash them regularly.

9. Finishing Touches

Air Fresheners: Utilise air fresheners or essential oil diffusers to maintain a pleasant fragrance in the bathroom.

Organisation: Ensure toiletries and cleaning supplies are neatly organised and stored to minimise clutter and facilitate easier cleaning.
