A CLUSTER of savvy homeowners transformed their caravans into a luxury holiday home using Facebook Marketplace and Temu bargains – with some as cheap as £1.67.

The homemakers didn’t need deep pockets to give their gaffs a serious face lift.

Couple Holly and James completed their refurbishment in three weeks – using stick-on tiles, soft furnishings and chair covers bought online, CornwallLive reported.

They also installed a new diesel heater and updated the kitchen using rattan cane webbing.

The duo nabbed the accessories, kitchen self-adhesive tiles and chair covers from Temu.

The couple said: “We bought [the caravan] for £2,250 from a lovely family via Facebook Marketplace. They were sad to see it go but were upgrading to a newer model.

“They had looked after it so well and pretty much everything still worked so we were over the moon when we saw it!

“We bought a new enamel caravan sink online as our original one was plastic, and then we had the new sink powder-coated white. And we sprayed the original caravan taps gold using Rustoleum metal spray and primer. 

“Changing the flooring was the biggest job of all,” they revealed. “Our original carpet was stuck underneath all of the units and furniture.”

Meanwhile, another serial Temu user, Jade, needed less than a month to carve out her dream home.

She started by removing and giving a fresh coat of paint to the kitchen cupboards.

Jade opted for sage green which neatly blended with the white walls.

She then added in patterned tiles and vinyl wraps, turning a humble caravan into an eye-catching home.

Meanwhile, Ebony Poole spotted a retro caravan on Facebook Marketplace and was determined to turn it into her own elegant space.

She renovated the dusty motorhome without breaking the bank.

“I wanted a home away from home,” she said.

Ebony slapped navy and cream paint across the interior, reupholstered seats and renovated the kitchen area.

Before long, Ebony had transformed the once derelict caravan – giving it a pop of colour and personality.

She added: “Come on our caravan renovation journey with us.”

“I bought wallpaper from Temu [and] all the cupboard handles were from Temu.”

A MAP has revealed exactly where snow is expected to fall in the UK over the next three days as Arctic air sweeps across the nation.

This comes as a yellow weather warning for ice has been issued by the forecaster for parts of northern England on Thursday.

Tonight, much of the snowfall is expected in the Scottish Highlands, with snow expected to continue to fall late into the evening.

Parts of the Peak District will also experience snowfall, although rain is expected too in the region.

Snow is expected to continue to fall in the Highlands area well into Thursday morning.

Parts of the North Pennines between Carlisle and Newcastle are also expected to see flurries of snow throughout Thursday morning.

The Highlands north of Pitlochry are expected to experience the heaviest snowfall shortly after 2pm on Thursday, with more than 4mm per hour being predicted.

On Friday, a range of snow is expected in both the Peak District, North Pennines, and Highlands throughout the day.

All three of these regions are expected to see more than 4mm per hour of snow falling by around 3pm.

Both the Highlands and North Pennines are also expected to have heavier snow in the morning hours on Friday.

This comes after the Cheltenham Festival saw early snowfall on day two.

Horses were seen galloping through the snowy conditions as Queen Camilla watched on alongside Princess Beatrice and Zara Tindall.

In terms of the forecast for this week, the Met Office has said that showers, some of which could be wintry, will continue to affect many eastern and some northeastern areas this evening and overnight.

However, the rest of the UK is expected to remain dry, although this will allow a frost to develop, as well as some icy patches.

This frost will clear on Thursday morning to provide “another chilly day with sunshine and showers”, the forecaster said.

Much of this rainfall is expected in central, eastern, and far northern regions of the UK.

As we head into the weekend, The Met Office has said Friday will have a mixture of sunshine and showers, but that these will dissipate as we go into Saturday and Sunday.

However, the forecaster did warn that there is likely to be some overnight frost still over the weekend period.

‘GREATER CHANCE OF INJURIES OR ACCIDENTS’

A yellow weather warning for ice is in place for much of northern England from 3am until 9am on Thursday.

The forecaster has warned of “perhaps wintry” showers that could create a few icy surfaces, as temperatures drop “close to zero”.

It said: “Probably some icy patches on some untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths, leading to a greater chance of injuries or accidents”.

The forecaster has advised residents to keep themselves and their families safe when it is icy.

“Not needing to rush, reduces your risk of accidents, slips, and falls.

We all have those odd little items tucked away in the corners of our homes – and these are usually things we’ve convinced ourselves we might need one day.

Or, in some cases, they may be the most random of things but oddly hold some sentimental value.

More often than not, these items are forgotten about until you attempt a big clear-out – only to remind yourself of them and find it difficult to part ways with them all over again.

From dusty relics of holidays gone by to collections that serve no real purpose, a decluttering expert has shone a light on the things that take up space in our homes and what we should really part ways with.

The expert, known as @thedeclutterdarlinguk on TikTok, took to her social media page to share an insight into the six weird things that people feel they should be keeping in their home.

First off, she noted that empty perfume bottles are some of the most popular items she has seen in people’s homes.

She says: “They’re just dust collectors. You probably don’t need them if they’re empty. You cannot use them anymore.”

Second on the list is lost button collections.

“Name me a time in the last six months where you have used those lost buttons,” questions the expert.

“I’m sure there’s someone who has, but I’d say 99% of the time those buttons are just kept for no reason.”

Coming in at third place is hotel key cards from hotels you “stayed at maybe five years ago as a memento.”

The expert adds: “It’s weird, you don’t need it, it’s never going to work again.

“Just return them at the end of your holiday or hotel stay.”

Taking fourth place are empty candle jars.

She says: “You know the ones that are burnt so low you physically cannot burn them anymore.

“So many people just keep them in their home, get rid of them.”

The decluttering expert continues: “Number five, old remote controls.

“Do you really need them? I find it slightly weird. If you’re keeping them and you don’t have that Skybox or you don’t have that TV, they can probably go.”

Finally, coming in at number six are baby teeth – and even she admits that she “still has them in my home.”

She says: “I have a little bag full of those tiny baby teeth from my little girls I cannot get rid of.

“It’s slightly creepy, isn’t it, that we keep people’s teeth that have fallen out.”

The decluttering expert finishes her video by saying: “Tell me I’m not alone, what are the weird things that you still have cluttering up your home that you just can’t get rid of?”

Her TikTok video has gained over 108,000 views, with 387 people rushing to the comments section to share their thoughts.

One answered her by writing: “Calpol syringes.”

A second added: “You forgot about old mobiles and empty iPhone boxes.”

A third said: “Birthday cards and Xmas cards! Just can’t part with them.”

Another shared: “Those plastic tubs Chinese takeaway comes in. Must have about 20 stacked up.”

A fourth wrote: “I’m not a hoarder, but I find it really difficult to get rid of nice cardboard boxes.”

Someone else revealed: “The odd button collection in the biscuit tins my mum kept – and when she passed away we found a container with her gallstones in it.”

THE nation spoke and Walkers listened. Bosses have announced they are bringing back Worcester Sauce crisps after shelving the popular flavour in 2023.

After last week’s hugely successful limited-edition sale of the snack at a shop in Worcester – where the Lea & Perrins relish was launched in 1837 – Walkers has promised to roll them out again nationwide.

Rich, founder of card reading service Lopay, said that he was proud of Charlie’s ‘enterprising spirit’[/caption]

She now charges him £5 to wash the car, £4 to vacuum the house, £1 to walk the dog and 50p to unload the dishwasher.

The move was inspired by her businessman dad, who started charging his Christmas guests £75 each to help cover the cost of his three-course feast and selection of fine wines.

She said: “At Christmas, my dad was so embarrassing. He made all our guests tap and pay on his card reader to cover the Christmas lunch, because he says no one carries cash and he was sick of them not contributing.

“Mum helped me get my own card reader so that I can give him a taste of his own medicine.

“He’s always late paying my pocket money so now he’ll have to fork out every time I do something around the house and I won’t have to wait.”

Apart from payment for chores, Charlie, from Fulham, West London, can also earn up to £10 for doing well at school.

Rich, founder of card reading service Lopay, said that he was proud of Charlie’s “enterprising spirit”.

He added: “I was a bit surprised when she told me about it, but I must admit I am sometimes late with the pocket money because I just forget it. I really admire Charlie’s enterprising spirit.

“She’s super smart and will make a great businesswoman one day.

“I suppose I brought it on myself for giving her the idea with what I did for Christmas lunch.

“I don’t mind hosting people for lunch on the big day and we love having them, but I do get a bit fed up sometimes.

“Using a card reader seemed the obvious thing to do.

“No one carries cash any more and it seems rude to ask people to transfer it to your bank account . . . they’d probably forget anyway.”

The couple chose the location for their bump shoot as they consider it their “second home”, making no secret it is their “favourite place” to holiday.

During a visit to Mallorca in November, Michelle shared a carousel of images and wrote: “Just a couple of days in our fave place before the Christmas build up begins.”

An insider later revealed that it was during this trip that Mark and Michelle decided to shoot their pregnancy reveal on the beach.

A pal told The Sun: “Michelle and Mark went on a winter sun break in early November and chose to take the photograph there.

“It was taken on an empty beach by a friend when they knew no one would spot them.

“Majorca is like a second home to them so it felt special for them to take that photograph there.”

Meanwhile, the couple chose Elizabeth for their daughter’s middle name as tribute to Michelle’s great-great grandmother.

In 2018, Michelle appeared on the BBC series Who Do You Think You Are? and discovered she had links on her mother’s side to Spain, along with Portugal, Monaco and Gibraltar.

But the 64-year stressed that Van Gerwen can remain a force in the game.

“It’s not just about ability – it’s about equipment, shoes, your shirt.

“You’ve got to get everything right – live a boring life and dedicate yourself to winning like a tennis player or cricketer or a top footballer.”

The monster’s retrial next month will predominantly be a condensed version of the original – but also includes a charge based on an allegation from a woman who wasn’t a part of the first case.

Weinstein has been captured flashing a toothless grin while shamelessly wearing a stained navy suit in court on Wednesday.

At the hearing, a judge was set to issue rulings on various issues, including the scope of accuser testimony and potential expert witnesses.

Sick Weinstein, 72, was in court for the hearing that started over an hour late after Judge Curtis Farber met with the prosecution and defense privately to speak of matters still under seal.

Those included a prosecution request that two of the three accusers in the case be permitted to testify about other alleged encounters with the disgraced producer.

They also had conversations on evidence of the accusers’ sexual history, which prosecutors argue should be barred under New York’s Rape Shield Law.

Weinstein’s retrial is to start April 15 in state court in Manhattan, almost a year after New York’s highest court overturned his 2020 conviction on rape and sexual assault charges.

At his last court appearance in January, Weinstein pleaded with the court to move his retrial forwards because of his rapidly declining health.

The disgraced producer pleaded at a hearing in state court in Manhattan: “Everyday I’m at Rikers Island [prison], it’s a mystery to me how I’m still walking.

“I’m holding on because I want justice for myself and I want this to be over with.

“I’m asking and begging you, your honor, to move your trial.”

And on Wednesday Weinstein arrived to court in a wheelchair, wearing a grubby suit and clutching a stack of documents.

Prior to his hearing beginning, the sick monster sat behind the defense table and watched as Farber resolved another matter that had been delayed by their closed-door discussions for a few minutes.

Weinstein is being retried on charges alleging he forcibly performed oral sex on an assistant in 2006 as well as the rape of an aspiring actor in 2013.

The additional charge, filed last September, alleges he forced oral sex on a different woman at a Manhattan hotel in 2006.

Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s office said in court papers that the woman, who has not been identified publicly, came forward to prosecutors just days before the start of Weinstein’s first trial.

She was not part of that case.

Prosecutors said they didn’t pursue the women’s allegations after he was convicted and sentenced to 23 years in prison – but they revisited them and secured a new indictment after the states Court of Appeals overturned his conviction last April.

Judge Farber ruled in October to combine the new indictment and existing charges into one trial.

Weinstein’s lawyers claim that prosecutors prejudiced him by waiting nearly five years to bring the additional charge, suggesting they had elected not to include the allegation in his first trial so they could use it later if his conviction were reversed.

The sickly 72-year-old has denied that he raped or sexually assaulted anyone.

Despite his pleas of innocence, a jury convicted Weinstein on February 24, 2020, of two criminal charges of rape and sexual assault.

He was convicted and sentenced to 23 years in prison.

Years later, this verdict was overruled by the New York Court of Appeals.

They found Weinstein didn’t receive a fair trial as prosecutors called multiple women as witnesses who fired off accusations at Weinstein that had nothing to do with his charges.

The testimonies “destroyed” his past character and were “an abuse of judicial discretion,” the judges announced.

Prosecutors revisited the case and secured a new indictment which included the third alleged victim.

This latest court hearing is also separate to Weinstein’s 2022 Los Angeles conviction for rape and sexual assault.

He was sentenced to 16 years in jail in the globally known case and has been held in the notorious Rikers Island prison ever since.

The LA case, which made Weinstein a convicted sex offender, came nearly three years after his guilty New York verdict.

His legal team have also launched an appeal against the verdict in June, claiming he was not fairly tried.

Weinstein’s latest case comes as the infamous Hollywood chief continues to battle with a range of serious health issues.

He has only left his cold new home behind bars on a handful of occasions in the past two years – mainly to visit hospital.

In October, it was announced he has been undergoing treatment in Rikers Island for Chronic myeloid leukemia – a type of cancer of the bone marrow.

A month earlier he was rushed into emergency heart surgery after a significant amount of fluid had built up in his lungs and heart.

The convicted rapist was left “near death” and wheelchair-bound.

Across the past 12 months he has also been hospitalised by Covid-19, bouts of double pneumonia and diabetes.

Weinstein labelled his time behind bars at Rikers Island as a “medieval situation” in court today.

He warned he “won’t be there for April” as he cited his cancer battle.

BRITS will be able to access 15 extra channels for free on their TVs from today.

It comes as a major UK broadcaster unveils a refreshed look on its linear channel as well as on its streaming service.

From today, Channel 5 and My5 are both known by the same name, 5.

Although the logo looks the same as before, there are some bigger changes for the streaming side, after a successful year for My5 in 2024.

Viewing minutes were up by 53 percent compared to 2023 according to Barb data, the highest increase of any public service broadcaster.

This was helped by shock documentaries like My Wife, My Abuser, which was My5’s number one most watched single title.

But on the brand new 5 app users will now find an extra 15 channels to enjoy, on top of 5 and its sister channels 5Star, 5USA, 5Action and 5Select.

These new channels are based on some of 5’s biggest and most successful franchises and shows.

And they also show some premium shows from 5 owner Paramount‘s other brands, including MTV.

Elsewhere, there is a special kids space under the Milkshake! brand which will have some Nickelodeon content on there in the near future too.

Over the next few months the new 5 app will roll out across all platforms and devices where My5 is currently available.

Speaking at a special 5 Showcase event on Wednesday evening, 5’s Chief Content Officer, Ben Frow launched a broad new slate of originated, UK produced content for 2025.

“We have always been led by our audience and bringing Channel 5 and My5 together as 5 reflects our ambition that they can watch or stream whichever way suits them best,” said Ben Frow, Chief Content Officer at 5.

“There is huge breadth of new content on streaming for viewers to discover, but the heart of 5 will always be our commitment to originated, UK produced public service content – including our award winning factual and more hours of original drama than we have ever commissioned.”
