‘Need them on the next series’ say Love Island fans as they campaign for Gabby and Ekin’s ‘hot brothers’ to go on show

LOVE Island fans are desperate for Gabby and Ekin-Su’s “hot” brothers to sign up for the next series.

Last night the Love Island All Stars girls were left emotional as they got the chance to speak to their loved ones.

Gabby was thrilled to see brother Ethan on video and after they caught up she asked for his opinion on Casey O’Gorman

Later Ekin-Su was over the moon to be reunited with her brother Arda, who told her to be cautious of some of the girls.

Despite both brothers dishing out some cold hard truths, many fans were left distracted by Ekin’s and Gabby’s hunky siblings.

And some viewers are campaigning for the pair to appear on the next series of the ITV2 dating show.

One wrote: ” Why is Gabby’s brother kinda fine???”

A second posted: “Nah someone sign Ekin’s brother up for next season he’s pure banter.”

A third said: “Need Gabby’s brother real bad,” with a fourth person saying: “Think we should put Ekin brother on the island.”

Another added:”Ekin’s brother staying real and hot exactly.”

It comes after Liverpool native Ethan revealed he knows Casey on the outside.

Viewers were stunned that he knew Casey before Gabby met him and took to social media to comment.

One wrote: “Wait… why would Gabby’s brother know Casey?”

Another said: “Gabby’s brother met Casey before she did???”

And a third added: “It’s mad that Gabby’s brother knows Casey.”

While Ethan gave Casey his nod of approval, Ekin-Su’s brother didn’t seem fond on Curtis Pritchard.

When Ekin-Su asked her brother what she thought of Curtis, he said: “I thought he was a bit of a f***y at first, I’m not gonna lie, but you know what, he’s growing on me.”

Arda replied: ‘Okay, that’s good to hear. I’m glad, that’s good. Okay, that’s made me feel better about him now.’

He then warned her to be careful about the other girls in the villa, when Ekin-Su asked him if they had her best interests at heart.

Channel 4 confirms its biggest ever drama is being rebooted – 40 years after its debut

CHANNEL 4 has confirmed its bringing back one of its most acclaimed dramas, forty years after it first appeared on TV screens.

Channel 4 is reprising one of its iconic dramas, based off the multi-million bestselling novel written by Barbara Taylor Bradford.

Jenny Seagrove in "A Woman of Substance" TV series.
Channel 4 has confirmd it will bring A Woman of Substance back as an eight-part drama series
Rex
A woman in a beaded black dress.
A Woman of Substance first aired in 1985 with actress Jenny Seagrove as Emma Harte

The best-selling 1979 novel A Woman of Substance was adapted into a film starring Liam Neeson, Deborah Kerr and Jenny Seagrove in 1985.

Now Channel 4 has confirmed it will reboot the iconic drama into an eight-part series.

Previously the film broke the channel’s rating records and still ranks top on its streaming charts back to our screen.

The record-breaking series told the story of a British servant girl, played by Jenny Seagrove and Emma Harte, who launches her retail empire against all odds.

Discussing the upcoming reboot, Katherine Jakeways, showrunner and writer, explained why she wanted to bring it back to screens.

She said: “I was a child in the ’80s, when A Woman of Substance was on every bookstand, every glass-topped coffee table and hidden, well-thumbed, under every pillow.

“The original Channel 4 adaptation was packed full of rolling Yorkshire hills, hairspray, shoulder pads and heaving bosoms and I desperately wanted in.

“So, it’s an incredible thrill for me to be bringing this blockbusting, epic saga of ambition, lust and revenge back to exactly where it belongs… Channel 4.

“And, we hope, doing justice to those twin feminist icons: the unstoppable Emma Harte and the original, inspirational Woman of Substance herself… Barbara Taylor Bradford.”

Ollie Madden, Director of Film4 and Channel 4 Drama, added: “Emma Harte’s superpower is weaponizing the degree to which men underestimate her.

“Watching her do that through the decades, experiencing her epic journey from housemaid to mogul, promises to be as thrillingly entertaining as it is fiercely relevant.

“We couldn’t be more excited to bring Barbara Taylor Bradford’s classic creation to life again via the brilliance of Katherine Jakeways and Roanne Bardsley’s sparkling scripts, alongside our trusted partners at The Forge.”

Esteemed actor Peter Egan, who previously played Emma’s father Adam Fairley in the 1985 drama, spoke exclusively to The Sun last year as he revealed the reboot was in the works.

He said to us: “I can see why they’re reviving it, because it’s a very good rags-to-riches tale and engages with all of the things that make a good story, like adultery and deceit and betrayal and passion and love.

“The networks are hungry for material. And if they’ve got a good title, like a woman of substance, half their job is done anyway.”

Details of the cast for the new reboot are yet to be released as well as an air date for the new eight-part series.

It means Willie Mullins’ Majborough has assumed the role of odds-on Arkle favourite in his place.

But Henderson hasn’t given up on the race entirely – and told Matt Chapman’s Unbridled podcast he is throwing a new name into the ring.

The mightily impressive Jango Baie has never finished outside the top two in his seven-race career.

He was an awesome six-and-a-half length winner of a Class 2 Cheltenham handicap last December.

And was beaten a short head at Grade 1 level by Handstands when last seen in the 2m4f Scilly Isles at Sandown earlier this month.

Jango Baie was 20-1 at the start of the week but has now been hammered into 8-1.

He’s now third-fav for the day one contest, behind Majborough and Dan Skelton’s 4-1 second-fav L’Eau Du Sud.

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “L’Eau Du Sud looked like the one to watch of the Arkle outsiders, but we’ve seen enough interest in Jango Baie over the last few days for our traders to slash his odds, and then some.”

A sign of how much Henderson loves Jango Baie is that he gave him his chasing debut at Cheltenham.

The legendary handler is reluctant to run novices over the searching Prestbury Park track.

But Jango Baie passed that test with flying colours when sent off 7-4 under Nico de Boinville.

Although seemingly not an out and out two-miler, Jango Baie did win a Grade 1 hurdle race – the Formby, formerly the Tolworth – at Aintree in December 2023 over 2m½f.

Furious Black Sabbath fans slam ‘disturbing prices’ and ‘nightmare’ ticket sale as they fight to go to band’s final gig

BLACK Sabbath fans have furiously hit out at the ticket sale for the legendary rock band’s final ever gig.

The Birmingham-born group is widely considered the founders of heavy metal and will bring the curtain down on their almost 60-year-long career with a superstar line-up at their beloved Villa Park this July.

Ozzy Osbourne’s health has been in decline for several years[/caption]

It will be the first time all four original members – Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward – have played together since 2005 on the Ozzfest tour.

As expected the ticket buying process was a mad scrum as fans from around the world battled it out to witness the end of an era.

More were left disappointed than happy, with one fan writing on X: “Black Sabbath tickets? Might as well have tried to get rocking horse sh*t from Live Nation this morning. That was a nightmare!”

Another criticised the sky high pricing, writing: “Something needs to be done about gig ticket prices. £350 for Oasis and £400 for Black Sabbath. They can f**k off!”

Another complained: “In the @livenation queue for BlackSabbath tickets for an hour find to find out they’re sold out.”

On Instagram, one simply commented: “Disturbing prices”.

Unsurprisingly for a gig that features heavyweight rockers Metallica, Slayer, Pantera, Alice in Chains and more on the bill, the cost was more than your average show.

The cheapest tickets were just shy of £300 while VIP packages ran in excess of £800.

Touts are already flogging tickets on resale sites for thousands of pounds, leaving a sour taste in the mouths of the real fans.

Black Sabbath toured in support of their 2013 album, 13, which featured Rage Against the Machine drummer Brad Wilk on drums, in 2017.

Tommy Clufetos filled in on drums for the live arena run, which saw them play classic tracks War Pigs, Paranoid, Iron Man and Snowblind.

Despite the album and tour going down well with fans there remained a clamour for one last roll of the dice with Ward.

However, Ozzy’s numerous health problems in recent years, including a Parkinson’s diagnosis, made it seem unlikely.

But last month in a surprise announcement, the band confirmed it would bow out with a rock spectacle for the ages.

The one-off gig on July 5, called Back To The Beginning, is being dubbed “the greatest heavy metal show ever”.

Ozzy said: “It’s my time to go Back to the Beginning….time for me to give back to the place where I was born.

“How blessed am I to do it with the help of people whom I love. Birmingham is the true home of metal. Birmingham Forever.”

Music Director, Rage Against the Machine’s Tom Morello said: “This will be the greatest heavy metal show ever.”

Jess Harding takes savage swipe at ex Sammy after their Love Island split is mentioned on All Stars

JESS Harding was apparently left unimpressed on Wednesday evening’s episode of Love Island: All Stars, as she took a savage swipe at ex-boyfriend Sammy Root.

The blonde beauty, 24, couldn’t resist a cheeky dig at her former partner, after his treatment of her was brought up during the show.

Back in 2023, salon owner Jess won the series 10 of Love Island alongside Sammy Root, 24.

However, despite the pair appearing to be loved-up in their exit chat with host Maya Jama, they split almost two months after their win with Jess allegedly dumping Sammy over the phone.

Former project manager Sammy is back in the South African Love Island villa, enjoying an apparent strong coupling with Elma Pazar, 32.

With the final believed to be just around the corner, the girls still in the villa were treated to a video chat with their friends and family were they got to have a much-needed debrief.

Catherine Agbaje got to chat good friend and Love Island alum Whitney Adebayo from her series who did not hold back.

Discussing her match Omar, she told her pal: “I don’t know if it’s giving wedding yet…you are definitely compatible, I wouldn’t say the same for others in there I don’t know if I trust Sammy you know, we got to stand on Jess.”

She then proceeded to tell her friend off for choosing Sammy to him to ‘marry’ during the Pie Challenge and “bending the knee”, telling her she wanted to tell her to “stand up”.

Watching at home, Jess shared that she was appreciated Whitney’s candidness telling her followers that her friend had her back.

She then added another pic suggesting that she and Whitney had been discussing everything Sammy and his relationship with Elma.

Posting a snap of their video chat, she wrote: “The real tea is getting gossiped.”

Viewers at home rushed to share their appreciation for Whitney. One user wrote on X, “Whitney’s still that girl, honest to a T. She literally covered everything and everyone.” While a second person laughed: “Not Whitney telling Catherine to stand up with proposing to Sammy.”

Love Island bombshell reveals he’s returning to the villa TODAY to take revenge on show rivals

LOVE Island All Stars is set to crank up a gear with the shock return of a bombshell to the villa.

The dumped islander is on his way back to South Africa and fans reckon he’ll be given the power to send one couple home – and they know exactly who he’ll pick.

Fans are hoping he will be given the power to dump a couple[/caption]

Ron Hall has shared a video of himself sitting in a swanky airport lounge before boarding a plane.

In the clip, he calls for Elma Pazar to be dumped from the villa after saying that her being voted ‘favourite girl’ has gone to her head.

Ron is seen sipping a drink in a second clip while onboard an aircraft.

A member of cabin crew can be heard saying: “To help us leave on time, please take the seat shown on your boarding pass as quickly as possible.”

Ron had previously ranted in the lounge: “I’ve just seen a clip of Elma having a dig at Ekin.

“Can we all just agree that you lot all voting her as Favourite Girl has given her a complete sense of freedom to just take things to the next level.

“She thinks she can get away with murder.

“The way she talks to people like s*** is ridiculous. So, get her out now.

“I’ve had enough. Get her out!”

Love Island All Stars fans have since shared the footage from Ron’s Instagram stories on Reddit and discussed what it could mean.

It comes after The Sun revealed that axed islanders would be making a return to the villa to confront the All stars who dumped them.

One viewer said: “My prediction is he will vote out Elma and Sammy, I think is obvious.”

Another added: “Me too! I think even if Ron bins her out, she might start having a go and be like, ‘Oh Ron ‘ave a day off, mate. You’re just p***d you never found anyone’.”

A third said: “They started it in series one of All Stars and did it on the recent normal Love Island – the ex islanders all come back and each vote one couple they want dumped.”

And someone else said: “Yes Ron 👏 speaking facts as usual. Elma is too big in her boots she needs to go.”

The ongoing feud between Elma and Ekin-Su reached fever pitch in the Love Island villa on Wednesday night.

It came after the Turkish actress confronted Elma and accused her of bearing a “weird grudge”.

The previous evening, the islanders played a game of Snog, Marry, Pie – with Sammy choosing to rub a pie in Ekin-Su’s face after she controversially kissed him during the Heart Rate Challenge.

However Sammy appeared to have a change of heart after seeing Ekin-Su upset and decided to apologise – leaving Elma reeling and calling her nemesis “muggy”.

Ron's Love Island All Stars feud with Harriett and Ronnie

Ron Hall found himself at the centre of a ‘bullying’ row on Love Island All Stars last month amid a fallout with Harriett Blackmore and Ronnie Vint.

Fans shared their concerns for Ron as they felt he was being unfairly picked on by other islanders.

It came after Ron fell out with Harriett after she coupled up with him following her bombshell entrance.

Ron admitted to Casey O’Gorman that he wasn’t feeling a spark, to which Casey told Grace Jackson – who then told Harriett.

Harriett was fuming and confronted Ron about what he’d said.

That same day, tempers also flared during a game of Truth Or Dare.

Ron was asked to kiss the ‘b*tchest’ islander’ and he chose Ekin-Su, accusing her of ‘riling things up’.

It came after Ekin had waded into a row between Ronnie and his then-ex Harriett.

Ekin-Su said Ronnie had called his romance with Harriet a show romance – but she wasn’t even there.

The combination of scenes were too much for viewers to bear, with one complaining on X: “I hate bullies, and i feel like they are bullying Ron.”

Another added: “It’s kinda touching the bullying line at this point. Why are they being so harsh on Ron?”

She further twisted the knife this week when they were allowed to ask the public a question about the other couples.

She and Sammy asked: “Do you think Curtis [Pritchard] and Ekin-Su are the weakest couple?”

Curtis accused Elma of asking the question out of “spite” as Ekin-Su became visibly upset.

Last night, Ekin finally had enough and told her rival: “I feel like ever since the heart rate challenge there’s been a weird grudge between you two and us.

“It’s always you two in every single game, I’m tired of it.

“The way you’ve told Curtis to shut up and f*** off I really don’t agree with. No one talks to my man like that.”

But rather than try and sort it out, Elma retorted: “Do sh**ty things, get sh**ty prizes, babe.”

Katie Price reveals 28st Harvey ‘can’t put his shoes on without sweating’ and faces MORE surgery after Ozempic jabs

KATIE Price’s 28 stone son faces more surgery after going on Ozempic jabs.

And Harvey‘s terrified mum fears the 22-year-old may die of a heart attack without help.

Coming soon: Katie Price’s most honest ever interview in Sun Club.

The TV personality’s eldest child, who has Prader-Willi syndrome, struggles to dress himself due to his size.

Katie told The Sun she consulted top doctors who suggested starting Harvey on the jabs in a bid to improve his chances of living longer.

She said: “He’s putting on weight. It doesn’t matter what we do.

“He can’t put his shoes on without sweating. He can’t walk far because he gets out of breath.

“It’s because of all the weight. So the doctors are doing it to give him a better, longer life, and for his health.”

Great Ormond Street Hospital have made an exception for Harvey by continuing to treat him, even though he’s an adult.

He’s already on a lot of medication but Katie says the weight loss jabs won’t interfere with those.

He’ll be on the jabs for up to two years – which is the maximum current regulations allow.

When he loses the weight he may need surgery to cut away pounds of loose skin.

Katie said: “They want to try him on it for at least one or two years, which is a long time, but they’ll control what level he needs then up it as they assess it.”

Brave Katie was recently forced to deny she has used the so-called ‘skinny jabs’ after fans raised concerns over her appearance.

But she has revealed the “real reason” behind her weight loss, attributing it to a change in diet and a more active lifestyle – after gaining weight on IVF and being inactive after breaking her foot in 2020.

On the latest episode of The Katie Price Show podcast, she said: “Everyone has said I’ve got skinny now …

“My go to breakfast is two boiled eggs and soldiers.”

Ozempic - an expert's view

Dr Mitra Dutt, a GP from Lloyds Pharmacy Online Doctor, says: “Mounjaro works by activating two hormonal receptors (GIP and GLP-1), which enhance insulin production, improve insulin sensitivity and work to decrease food intake.”

Saxenda, which contains the active ingredient liraglutide, is another weight loss jab that’s been available on the NHS since 2020.

While Mounjaro is hailed as the “King Kong” fat jabs, a new weight loss drug dubbed “Godzilla” looks set to displace it.

Containing the active ingredient retatrutide, slimmers trying the drug lost up to 29 per cent of their weight in less than a year.

By comparison, trial results showed semaglutide, known as Ozempic, could lead to 15 per cent weight loss and tirzepatide, aka Mounjaro, to 23 per cent.

Retatrutide acts on three different receptors in the brain, “turbocharging” calorie burning while dulling hunger pangs.

Existing weight-loss jabs only suppress appetite, whereas the new treatment also speeds up metabolism.

The new drug is still undergoing clinical trials so it’s not yet known if it will be made available on the NHS.

I visited the little-known city street that inspired EastEnders’ iconic Albert Square – it wasn’t what I expected at all

STANDING on an east London Victorian street, the most overwhelming sense of déjà vu suddenly washed over me – even though I knew I’d never been there before.

That’s because this little-known, unassuming neighbourhood – nestled between hipster hotspots Dalston and Hackney – is the real life version of EastEnders‘ iconic Albert Square.

EastEnders,28-07-2023,Phil Mitchell (STEVE MCFADDEN), BBC, Jack Barnes/Kieron McCarron
We took a trip down to the original Albert Square in east London – and were surprised by what we found
BBC

Fassett Square is where EastEnders’ infamous, and fictional, Albert Square is based on
Alice Penwill

The legendary soap has graced our screens for 40 years, and while many viewers won’t have even heard of it, Fassett Square – with its quaint rows of terraced Victorian houses and iron gated central gardens – is the inspiration behind the BBC set.

In 1985, when EastEnders was starting out, creators Julia Smith and Tony Holland were tasked with finding somewhere in London that resembled their vision.

When they stumbled upon Fassett Square in London Fields, in transport zone two, they knew they’d struck gold.

While the show isn’t actually filmed on location there, producers were so set on using the Square they took a cherry picker forklift to get aerial shots of the entire location and even measured the houses for their replicas.

And the rest is history – with 40 years of drama, death, affairs and fights under the show’s belt.

The communal garden area in Fassett Square is a lot smaller in real life than its BBC counterpart[/caption]

Worlds away from Walford

It’s a 20-minute trip from Central London to Fassett Square, and when I arrive I get a strange feeling, like I really am on a TV set.

At one point, the BBC were actually thinking about using the real Fassett Square for filming, but ran into problems as it was a residential road in the middle of London.

So they filmed the pilot episode in Fassett Square before production moved across to Borehamwood, where the soap – which is set in the fictional London borough of Walford – is still filmed today.

But when you start to look a little deeper, Fassett Square doesn’t really resemble the 40-year-old TV show’s set at all.

One of the big differences that struck me is just how quiet Fassett Square is in real life.

There are certainly no bust-ups or loud arguments coming from the Slater household, for example.

And the area is nothing like how it was when EastEnders first launched – Grant Mitchell would be shocked at the price of a house on the square now.

In the last few years, properties have sold for up to £1.6m – compared to £107,000 in the mid-1990s.

Dalston is also known for being achingly cool, and was even labelled the 13th coolest neighbourhood in the world by Time Out in 2021.

Even in his ‘hip’ leather jacket, Grant would struggle to fit in among the art galleries, cocktail bars, vegan cafes and edgy basement nightclubs.

HOW TO GET TO FASSETT SQUARE

For diehard ‘Enders fans looking to visit, it’s actually incredibly easy to get to Fassett Square.

Located in London’s transport zone two, there are two stations nearby.

Overground trains run to Dalston Junction on the London Overground’s newly named Windrush Line, and also to Hackney Central, which is on the Overground’s Mildmay Line and the National Rail network.

Both about a ten-minute walk away from the square.

Alternatively, you can catch a number of buses from central, east and south London.

No launderette or greasy spoon

Another huge difference is, unlike the fictional Walford neighbourhood, there’s no rowdy pub on the corner, no bustling market, and while there is a communal garden area, it’s nothing like the one in EastEnders.

The garden area is a lot smaller than the one featured in Albert Square, there’s no walk-through, no path, and only one bench – and it’s under lock and key.

There isn’t even a side street with a launderette or greasy café – it’s just surrounded by houses and flats.

One lady watching over the local kids zooming around the street on their skateboards said that it’s generally a very “quiet” area.

She added that everyone living on the street knows the history of the square and EastEnders, so it doesn’t faze them when fans take a snap or two.

The resident said that her husband, who grew up on Fassett Square, and still lives there today, spent lots of summers as a child playing “bench football” in the gardens.

Now, the communal garden remains under lock and key for resident-access only, so locals tend to sit out there in the summertime.

I can certainly see the vision that Julia and Tony had when I hit the heart of Dalston though – I can imagine the shouts from the market, the rumble of the trains, and the punters in busy pubs.

Three real-life TV Locations You Can Visit for Free

Here are three more locations for TV fans that you can visit for free...

Emmerdale
For soap opera fans, take a trip up to Esholt, just outside of Bradford, to see the inspiration behind ITV’s Emmerdale.

The small village was used for filming in the seventies through to the nineties – and even has its own Woolpack pub.

Beyond Paradise
Down on the Cornish coast is a village that is the real-life home of Beyond Paradise.

The show is set in the fictional town of Shipton Abbott, but filmed around the beautiful seaside town of Looe.

All Creatures Great And Small
In the Yorkshire Dales, the town of Grassington transforms into Darrowby for All Creatures Great and Small.

The production team dress up shop fronts, with The Stripey Badger Bookshop becoming G F Engleby Grocers, and The Devonshire transforming into the Drovers Arms – where you can pop in for a hearty Sunday lunch.

Pop into the ‘Queen Vic’ for a pint

For anyone who fancies a trip to Fassett Square, there are two places nearby also worth visiting that also inspired the BBC soap set.

If you want to feel like you’re bargaining with Alfie Moon on Bridge Street market, stop by Ridley Road market in nearby Dalston.

The eclectic market, which has been running since the 1880s, has more than 150 stalls.

Customers can buy everything from fresh fruit and vegetables to vintage clothes, spices, herbs and street foods from a taste of the Caribbean to Turkish cuisine.

And if you fancy a tipple, a 20-minute walk down the road is the Cat and Mutton pub on Broadway Market in Hackney, which is rumoured to have inspired the Queen Vic.

On Sundays they serve up big roasts and Bloody Marys – but thankfully without any awkward EastEnders-style brawls.
