I took my baby for a doctor’s appointment & my 5 kids were taken into care for 10 months – it’s happened to thousands
REBECCA Wanosik had taken her newborn daughter Zeydn to the doctor’s after something felt off.
But just moments later, her world suddenly turned upside down – and that same night, all five of her children, Zach, eight, Zoey, six, Zander, five, Zavier, three, and Zeydn, three weeks, were removed from her by the authorities.

Rebecca, who’s training to be a midwife, explained that she had noticed something was off with Zeydn when she tried to burp her.
”It was like her ribs were popping underneath my fingers.”
Although the mum-of-five said there wasn’t much about newborns that could faze her, her experience taught her to trust her gut, so she took the little one to the doctor the following day.
”He told me my baby was just ‘adjusting to the outside world’.
”Zeydn’s dad Anthony and I both trusted his opinion that she was fine.
”But a few weeks later, I was strapping her into the car seat and as I gently adjusted her arms, she began to cry like she was in pain,” she told Mail Online.
They went back to the hospital, where it was suggested that Zeydn’s shoulder could have been damaged during Rebecca’s home birth, so she was sent straight for an X-ray.
But soon, alarms bells started ringing, when the mother wasn’t allowed to go with newborn and instead was taken to a private room.
After they’d carried out tests, a doctor came to speak to the mum.
”’I can’t leave you alone with your baby,’ he said, revealing – to my horror – that Zeydn had a fractured right arm and three broken ribs.
”My world fell apart as the doctors told me her injuries were ‘consistent with child abuse‘ and the police had been called.”
Without any hesitation, Rebecca immediately called her husband Anthony.
Despite being away for work, the dad raced to the hospital – but the moment he arrived, he was taken in for questioning.
I felt like I was living in a nightmare
Rebecca Wanosik
”Neither of us had ever laid a finger on any of our children but the police clearly thought Anthony was the culprit,” Rebecca recalled the incident.
Although Rebecca insisted her partner would ”never hurt” their children, no one would listen to her – and that night all five of her kids were removed from her care by authorities.
”I felt like I was living in a nightmare. One minute I’d been at a routine doctor’s appointment, the next, I was being treated like a criminal,” she said.
Rebecca, who was ”utterly distraught to be parted from the kids” who had been taken to temporarily live with a family friend, said a no-contact order was put in place.
Desperate, she went online, trying to find an explanation for what could have caused Zeydn’s injuries – however, the sheer volume of information proved to be overwhelming.
News programme that changed everything
”Then, a month later, I was watching TV when my phone began to beep with messages. Family and friends were urging me to switch on the news programme 20/20.
”The show featured the story of a woman called Cynthia who had taken her two-month-old son to the doctor with a swollen ankle.
”Tests had showed multiple other injuries and he was taken away from her too.”
The child was later diagnosed with a genetic connective tissue disorder called Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, which meant she suffered bone breaks and dislocations easily.
Eventually, the two-month-old son was returned to her.
This had happened to other families too, the report said – and Rebecca knew in her gut that this was what had happened with Zeydn.
The couple then got tested and were both found to be genetic carriers of the condition.
While the parents fought to have the case heard, they were only allowed supervised visits with their children.
”The visits were heartbreaking, with the kids asking why they couldn’t come home,” Rebecca said.
Reunited with the kids
Finally, after ten long months, the authorities took our Ehlers-Danlos theory seriously, and Zeydn tested positive for the condition.
Eventually, they regained custody of the kids, but despite proving they were completely innocent, their names were still listed on the state child abuse registry for the next seven years, until Rebecca worked with a local representative to get them removed.
”Thankfully, Zeydn’s condition can be managed with vitamin D supplements. She needs to be careful and won’t ever be able to play contact sports, but she is still living her best life,” Rebecca said.
The parents went on to have three more kids, Zeke, Zion and Zeppelin, but ultimately the trauma of what they’d been through was too much and they separated.
Rebecca has since created a charity called Fractured Families to make sure that no other parent has ever have to go through what she and Anthony did.
So far, she revealed, they’ve helped more than 1,200 families get access to medical experts and lawyers.
Rebecca is also working on having Zeydn’s Law passed in the U.S., in hopes it will help parents who need a second medical opinion for their child who may have a condition that mimics child abuse.
”Now, I’m a single mum to eight kids and it’s hard work – but I cherish every moment with them – and I hope no other family ever has to endure what we’ve been through.”
Geordie Shore star bravely reveals life-changing health diagnosis and insists ‘I can’t ignore this anymore’
A GEORDIE Shore star has today bravely revealed his life-changing health diagnosis.
The popular MTV star, 32, has opened up about his secret daily health battle, telling fans that he “can’t ignore it anymore”.

Kyle Christie, 32, took to Instagram to reveal that he had diabetes.
However, he said this was the first time he was publicly talking about.
Sharing a video where he candidly talked about his life-changing diagnosis, he said: “It’s finally time for me to publicly share my journey with Type 1 Diabetes.
“I’ve been getting so many messages and comments recently about what’s on my arm and I can’t ignore them anymore.
“Having families message me, who know what my sensor is and what it does, made me realise it’s time to share exactly what I’ve been dealing with for the past 23 years.
“This is not a sob story but a chance for me to show everyone Diabetes shouldn’t limit what you can do and I’m living proof of that.”
Kyle shot to fame on Geordie Shore in 2014, where he quickly struck up an on-off relationship with Holly Hagan which dominated both the show and headlines during their time together.
He left the programme twice, once in the eleventh series before briefly re-joining and quitting again at the conclusion of the thirteenth.
Kyle then went onto enjoy a successful career on US TV becoming one of the leading cast members of the show The Challenge, appearing in seven seasons altogether.
CHANGE OF CAREER
These days Kyle is more of a businessman than a reality star.
The star has launched a property business called Conway Christie Estate Agents which is based in the North East of England, alongside business partner Sarah Conway.
A source close to Kyle said: “Kyle has always been very business minded and never wanted to put all his eggs in the reality TV basket.
“He knows fame doesn’t last forever so he always wanted to have his own ventures and his estate agency is doing really well.
“He’s a very successful, savvy guy.”

MARRIED WITH KIDS
Meanwhile, Kyle recently got married his wife Vicky Turner.
The TV personality shared the news on Instagram in December alongside a collection of stunning wedding photos.
Sharing his happiness with his fans, he wrote: “Legally Mr & Mrs Christie, next stop Rome.”
The couple got engaged two years ago, after welcoming their son. Crew, in 2021.
‘Pep Guardiola is stressed, man’ – Fans fear for Man City boss as Etihad legend spotted with fresh scratches on head
PEP GUARDIOLA has again been spotted with what appears to be scratches on his head.
The Manchester City boss, 54, tonight watched his side surrender a late 2-1 lead to lose 3-2 to Real Madrid at the Etihad.

City’s last-gasp defeat leaves them with an uphill battle to climb in the Spanish capital next week.
Earlier this season, Guardiola sported several cuts on his head after City gave up a 3-0 lead to Feyenoord in the Champions League.
He went on to say “I want to harm myself” before issuing an apology for the joke, claiming that he did not intend to make light of self-harming with his words.
Guardiola again wore scratches on his head during City’s clash with Club Brugge last month.
Posting a picture of the City boss this evening, a fan on social media wrote: “Pep is stressed man.”
The reigning Premier League champions had begun the night by poking fun at Vinicius Jr’s Ballon d’Or snub, with fans holding up a tifo of Rodri lifting the trophy alongside the message “Stop crying your heart out”.
City then took the lead on 19 minutes, after a lengthy VAR check deemed Erling Haaland to have been onside from Josko Gvardiol‘s knock down.
Kylian Mbappe went on to level in fortuitous fashion, with his shinned volley beating Ederson.

Haaland restored City’s lead from the penalty spot after substitute Phil Foden was brought down in the box.
But City old boy Brahim Diaz equalised in the 86th minute, before Jude Bellingham broke home fans’ hearts with a stoppage time winner.
After the game, John Stones told Prime Video: “A few games after the Arsenal one, I don’t know how to put it into words straight away, it’s so raw and frustrating for everyone.
“We were in the game until so late and then it’s two situations that happen and we concede. It’s frustrating as a defender to come away with that result.
“It’s a feeling of anger and frustration.
“We need to see games out better. The manager said we need to take accountability for what we do on the pitch, I think we do that. We need to step up when these bad moments happen.

“Today we had a great opportunity to go to the Bernabeu with a 2-1 lead. It’s not done. We have to stay positive, which is difficult now.
“As the manager says we need to look at ourselves and take accountability.
“We were right on top at the start of the game and we know Real have quality to come out in the second half. It is avoidable from us as the eleven on the pitch. We have to do better – it’s as simple as that.
“We have to keep a positive mentality and try to put it right.”
City will face Real Madrid again in the second leg next Wednesday.
In the meantime, they will host Newcastle in the Premier League this Saturday.

Love Island fans insist producers are ‘sabotaging’ All Stars couple and beg for them to get more screen time
LOVE Island fans are claiming that producers are “sabotaging” an All Stars couple, and begged them to let them have more screen time.
Viewers have noticed how one popular villa pair are not getting as much screen time as the others.

Tonight fans vented about not seeing enough of Catherine Agbaje and Omar Nyame on Love Island All Stars.
Over the last few weeks, the couple have hardly been seen on the ITV2 reality show, and this has not gone unnoticed by fans.
The pair got together when Omar arrived in the villa as a bombshell.
But despite being one of the most solid couples in the villa, they haven’t been seen much, on the show.
This has left fans demanding to know why they are being left out.
Taking to social media, one fan said: “How can Omar and Catherine win?
“They haven’t even had an hour of screen time this whole season! Sabotage!”
While another added: “Why do Omar and Catherine not get as much time on the screen as the others?
“They are the best ones.”
This one said: “What’s up with Omar and Catherine?
“Why do we not see them as much?”
EXPLOSIVE EVENING
Meanwhile, it all kicked off in the villa tonight, with Catherine left furious.
It all started when the couples had the chance to ask the public two questions each.
The answers were revealed during an All Stars dinner – but not everyone could handle the truth.

Despite not getting much screen time, Catherine and Omar’s question about whether they were “compatible” came back with a positive 70%.
Catherine responded by saying: “It feels so so good that the public think we’re compatible, I’m so happy.”
But things then kicked off when the couple’s second question was about whether the public thought Casey O’Gorman was in the villa “for clout”.

It’s fair to say that Casey DID NOT take this question well.
He started challenging Catherine and Omar on why they would ask the public that.
Later, Elma and Sammy’s question about Curtis and Ekin-Su reignited another clash between the two couples.
This was because they asked the public: “Do you think Curtis and Ekin-Su are the weakest couple?”

Curtis immediately responded by saying: “I feel there’s a slight spite behind the whole thing.”
Elma then snapped back: “Oh please Curtis, have a day off, babe.”
Love Island continues tomorrow night at 9pm on ITV2.

Love Island All Stars slam Elma Pazar for ‘smirking’ at co-star’s sadness during tense challenge
LOVE Island’s Elma Pazar has been slammed for “smirking” at Ekin-Su when she got upset during a challenge.
The All Stars contestants came to loggerheads yet again when it was revealed 58 per cent of the public said they didn’t believe Ekin and Curtis were a good match.

Fans then noticed Elma smirk after watching Ekin overthink the result and admit to being too upset to talk.
One viewer said: “Elma is such a b***h!! How is she smiling at Ekin-Su being upset like that???”
Someone else said: “Not Elma smiling over Ekin’s sadness??”
Another added: “Well Elma, I’d say that’s karma for smirking the minute ekin got a bad result.”
One fan argued: “Elma deserves to be humbled enough is enough.”
The once firm friends fell out when Ekin-Su gave Elma’s partner Sammy Root a peck on the lips during the heart rate challenge.
She had promised Elma not to kiss Sammy before doing the opposite.
Although Elma says she can “forgive” Elma, she finds the “forgetting” part harder.
Curtis pointed out that there was “spite” behind the question Elma and Sammy asked about him and Ekin in tonight’s game.
They wanted to know “do you think Curtis and Ekin-Su are the weakest couple?”
However, Elma had the smile wiped off her face when she was told the public think her age-gap with Sammy will have an impact on their relationship on the outside.
Countries that refuse to take back offenders face visa shut-out, warn ministers
COUNTRIES that refuse to take back their offenders face a visa shut-out, ministers have warned.
Those who fail to co-operate in Britain’s deportation blitz would face sanctions, immigration minister Angela Eagle declared yesterday.

This could include blocking visas, making them more expensive, or deliberately delaying their approval.
Ms Eagle put foreign governments on notice after being challenged to use the powers from Tory Shadow Home Secretary Chris Philp.
She said: “If co-operation with countries falls below the levels expected, we stand ready to use all levers available to us to encourage action — including the power to impose visa penalties.”
Labour have pledged to ramp up returns for migrants with no right to be here, either because they have committed a crime or arrived illegally.
They have hailed 19,000 deportations since coming to power from July.
But most of these were voluntarily returns, and are still dwarfed by the 25,000 small boat arrivals in that time.
Officials say four of the UK’s biggest-ever deportation flights have already taken off, carrying more than 850 people.
Yesterday Home Secretary Yvette Cooper said releasing footage of deportations is part of efforts to restore public confidence in the immigration system.
She added: “That’s why, as part of the Government’s Plan for Change, we have put significant additional resource into immigration enforcement and returns, so those who have no right to be here, particularly those who have committed crimes in our country, are removed as swiftly as possible.”
