Beau Greaves makes huge career breakthrough with first ever PDC Tour win over highly-ranked Luke Littler pal
BEAU Greaves has achieved another huge career breakthrough after winning her first PDC Pro Tour game against a top male player.
Greaves secured a place in the second round of the Players Championship 2 after edging to a 6-5 victory over Josh Rock – who is Luke Littler‘s pal.

Greaves, 21, beat former World Youth champion Rock on Tuesday – but has since been defeated 6-2 by Krzysztof Ratajski in the last 64.
The Doncaster-born star secured a 2-0 lead early on against Rock after hitting a 17-darter and 13-darter.
Rock then took three legs in a row to lead 5-3 after eight legs, before Greaves began her comeback.
After Rock missed a matchdart on the bullseye, Greaves narrowed the deficit to 5-4 with a 16-darter.
She posted a stunning 102.7 average – including six 180s – to win 6-5 against the 23-year-old.
Rock regularly faced off against star boy Littler as the pair rose up through the ranks together.
The Northern Irishman even enjoyed a spot of dinner with The Nuke before the latter’s first night of Premier League action last week.
Rock – who is the current world No.17 – posted a picture of Littler enjoying steak and chips in Belfast.

Greaves is now top of the Challenge Tour Order of Merit, which allows her to compete an alternate in the Tour Card.
It comes after the world’s best women’s player won two of the first five Challenge Tour tournaments in January.
The 21-year-old can step in when holders fail to register or cancel.
Rock, current World No. 17, tipped himself to be as big as Littler after bagging the fourth PDC ranking title of his career.
But he has lost out to Greaves – who also beat Fallon Sherrock’s beau Cameron Menzies at the Grand Slam of Darts in November – this time around.
She lost 6-4 to Owen Bates at the players Championships on Monday.
Greaves claimed a third-straight WDF women’s world title in December and previously expressed concern about competing against “the lads”.
‘Ship has sailed’ – Conor McGregor brutally told UFC career is OVER by MMA legend Joe Rogan after constant partying

CONOR MCGREGOR has been brutally told by Joe Rogan that his UFC career is over.
The Notorious was due to make his long-awaited UFC return last June but was forced out of his Sin City showdown with Michael Chandler due to injury.

McGregor’s diehard followers are confident he will return to the cage – which he’s been away from for four years – in 2025.
But veteran UFC colour commentator Rogan doesn’t foresee the Irishman ever fighting again.
During a recent episode of The Joe Rogan Experience podcast, former UFC heavyweight Brendan Schaub said of McGregor fighting agin: “The ship has sailed.
“It’s like, we want him to come back [but] it ain’t happening.”
Rogan candidly replied: “Well he knows too [that the ship has sailed].”
Rogan’s belief that McGregor will never fight again is in part down to the Dubliner’s antics outside the cage, in particular his partying.
The 57-year-old said of the former two-division champion: “I don’t know if Conor is ever gonna fight again.
“I don’t know the real details of [the civil assault case]. I know his version of it, and her version of it, and what played out in the court.
Inside McGregor's Notorious lifestyle

With more sides to his personality than an Octagon, Conor McGregor's rise has been an enthralling watch.
Going from UFC icon to entrepreneur and Hollywood star, the Irishman has transcended the sport he helped bring to the masses.
He has four children with fiancee Dee Devlin and the family enjoy a lavish lifestyle.
McGregor has not fought in UFC since breaking his leg in a trilogy fight with Dustin Poirier in 2021.
That has not stopped him amassing a net worth of over £150m thanks to his Proper No Twelve whiskey and fashion line.
And he is due to return to the Octagon at UFC 303 in an eagerly-awaited headline clash with Michael Chandler.
McGregor also starred alongside Jake Gyllenhaal in the Amazon Prime remake of classic movie Road House, although he is dreading his mum seeing one X-rated scene.
Notorious turned up to the premiere in a £60,000 suit that was outdone by his £460k watch.
The only thing sharper than his fashion sense is his tongue and the Dubliner has several bitter spats under his belt, including with UFC legend Khabib Nurmagomedov.
That row led to one of his biggest controversies in 2018 as he travelled 3,000 miles to confront Khabib in a vicious attack on his bus.
He pleaded guilty to assault after punching a man in a pub in 2018 and had his £150k Bentley seized by police for driving offences four years later.
Joe Rogan lashed out at McGregor in a four-letter outburst and the Irishman has also fired shots at Jake Paul, KSI and Tommy Fury.
Boxing great Floyd Mayweather also has McGregor on his enemy list after the pair clashed in a cross-sport bout in 2017.
Read all of our latest Conor McGregor stories.
“The reality is that guy’s partying, and he’s partying real hard, and he talked about it in the court case, he’s talking about cocaine.”
UFC President and CEO Dana White forecast an autumn return for the promotion’s poster boy last month.
But the veteran promoter seemingly now has serious doubts over the long and protracted Return of the Mac.
When asked about McGregor during the UFC Fight Night 250 post-fight press conference earlier this month, he replied: “Conor?
“Um… Not sure when Conor will be back”
McGregor hasn’t set foot inside the octagon since breaking his left leg in his trilogy fight with Dustin Poirier in July 2021.
If he does ever fight again, his next outing will be his first since being found civilly liable for assaulting Nikita Hand at a Dublin Hotel in December 2018.
Mystic Mac – who was accused of “raping and battering” Ms Hand – has vowed to appeal the verdict of last November’s civil trial at Dublin’s High Court.

My husband was given hours to live after ‘vertigo’ became so severe he didn’t recognise our daughter anymore
A DAD’S debilitating symptoms were repeatedly dismissed as “vertigo” by doctors.
But Marcus Williams, 35, was given just hours to live after he became unable to recognise his own daughter.

The dad began experiencing intense headaches, fatigue, and seizures but doctors repeatedly misdiagnosed his symptoms as vertigo.
Doctors told his family there was nothing to be done when “his eye suddenly went lazy” and he began “projectile vomiting”.
But when the dad-of-one started to lose his memory – and couldn’t recognise his daughter, Lola, five – his wife, Laura, 31, pushed for him to get a CT scan.
It revealed a large tumour and Marcus was rushed for emergency surgery – after being given just hours to live.
Surgeons were able to remove 98 per cent of the mass during a painstaking 12-hour surgery.
Following the op, Marcus was diagnosed with a glioblastoma, a fast-growing brain tumour that develops in cells in the brain and spinal cord.
Laura, a self-employed beauty therapist, from Yatton, Somerset, said: “I was shocked when the GP surgery texted me saying there was nothing more they could do.
“Both they and doctors at A&E insisted Marcus had vertigo, but I knew it was something far worse.
”When his eye suddenly went lazy, I feared he was having a stroke.
“Even the paramedics downplayed his symptoms, suggesting his projectile vomiting could be due to a blocked ear or even mental health issues.
”I couldn’t understand how so many medical professionals, people we are meant to trust with our lives, were so dismissive and treated us like timewasters.
“Soon, Marcus started losing his speech and memory. He didn’t even recognise our little girl, the person he cherishes most. I was at breaking point.
”It wasn’t until I confronted a doctor at A&E and demanded a CT scan that they finally found the large tumour.
“That was when I was told he had only hours to live and needed emergency surgery.”
A neurosurgeon from Newquay, Cornwall, was flown in and successfully removed 98 per cent of the tumour in a 12-hour operation.

Marcus remained in intensive care for the following five days.
The family finally received a diagnosis following the operation and were devastated to learn that he had a glioblastoma – an aggressive and cancerous brain tumour.
Laura was told by medical professionals that Marcus would experience memory loss, speech difficulties, and other challenges, and the family brought in photos and Marcus’ favourite snacks to help speed up his recuperation.
For his daughter, Lola, things were especially difficult.
I was told I was hours away from losing my husband and, at every turn, medical staff dismissed me as a timewaster. Only research and a cure can prevent others from going through what we did, and I won’t stop fighting for that
Laura Williams
Laura said: “She kept repeating, ‘Why won’t daddy play with me?’ and ‘daddy’s got a poorly head’ but she just couldn’t grasp what was happening.
“The whole situation has been incredibly tough on her. When I had to leave her with my parents to stay with Marcus in the hospital, she was devastated.
”She didn’t know where I was or what was happening, and she didn’t understand why daddy wouldn’t be with her either.
“Being out of school due to half-term only made things harder. It broke my heart to see how much she was struggling.
“Marcus had always been the fun dad, playing pillow fights and doing gymnastics on the floor with her.
“After his surgery, he could only sit there, quiet and exhausted, as he recovered.”
Hope ahead
Marcus is now showing signs of recovery and his memory is returning, after undergoing six-weeks of radiotherapy and chemotherapy.
He has additional medication to manage occasional seizures but remains bedbound for the time being.
Marcus and Lola still enjoy reading and colouring together, and are still hoping for a return to gymnastics together soon.
Laura is taking part in Brain Tumour Research’s 10,000 Steps a Day in February challenge, along with friends and family.
What are the symptoms of glioblastoma and how soon do they show?
Glioblastomas are the most common brain tumour in adults, while also being very aggressive and deadly.
Brain Tumour Research says tumours increase pressure in the skull, causing headaches.
Symptoms to look for are:
- Headaches
- Loss of appetite
- Nausea and vomiting
- Loss of balance
- Mood swings
- Problems speaking
- Problems with memory or concentration
- Seizures
- Impaired vision
The symptoms can initially be quite non-specific, meaning they could be mistaken for lots of other conditions- even stress or a hangover.
The brain controls so many different functions that symptoms can vary greatly depending on where in the brain the tumour is.
Glioblastomas are very fast growing. Once found, experts can see them double within seven weeks.
But, according to Dr Stephen Bagley, assistant professor of medicine at Penn Medicine, the first spark of glioblastoma in the brain remains something of a mystery to medical experts.
One study concluded that a glioblastoma starts growing 330 days on average – almost a year – before a diagnosis.
Another found that there are changes in immune function up to five years before a diagnosis, with markers in blood samples – but symptoms only occur three months prior.
Laura adds: “I was told I was hours away from losing my husband and, at every turn, medical staff dismissed me as a timewaster.
”Only research and a cure can prevent others from going through what we did, and I won’t stop fighting for that.
”That’s why we’re taking on the 10,000 Steps a Day challenge, followed by wing walks and skydives, all to raise money for this vital cause.
“If even one pound helps find a cure or eases another family’s pain, it will be worth it.”
Ashley McWilliams, community development manager at Brain Tumour Research, said: “Marcus, Laura, and Lola’s story is a powerful reminder of the devastating impact brain tumours have on families and the urgent need for better diagnosis, treatment, and support.’
”Their courage and determination to raise awareness and funds will make a real difference to the 12,000 people diagnosed with a primary brain tumour each year.”

Volvo reinvents its smallest car as all-electric 4×4 boasting all-terrain mudflaps, skid-plates and ‘chunky’ front
VOLVO has reinvented its smallest motor into an all-electric, all-terrain 4×4 – with a delightful focus on off-road driving.
A jacked-up version of the EX30 is set to become the Swedish brand’s first EV and first SUV to use Volvo’s cool new Cross Country branding.

While drivers might already be familiar with the EX30 – the smallest car Volvo makes, which has become hugely popular thanks to its good looks and competitive price point – the EX30 Cross Country introduces a string of notable differences.
Firstly, it’s much taller and chunkier; raised by 19mm, with beefier front and rear skid plates, the optional addition of mudflaps, and 720mm all-terrain tyres.
There’s also a five-link rear suspension that has been softened to cope with bumpier, off-road terrain.
Volvo also claims it can handle muddy tracks and even “ankle-deep” snow.
However, the brand has stressed that the EX30 Cross Country is not a “hardcore” off-roader, saying it’s more aligned with “weekend explorers”.
They added: “Cross Country is about helping you access nature on nature’s terms – not conquering it.”
It certainly looks the part, featuring a more rugged appearance than the standard car – including a blacked-out front grille and boot lid, as well as more sculpted front and rear bumpers and blackened arches.
It can also be optioned with 19-inch alloy wheels, as well as a roof-mounted kayak holder, roof-mounted tent, and stowable towbar.
Despite these additions, the interior of the EX30 Cross Country is exactly the same as the standard car’s.
Only available in all-wheel drive – at least for now – the 4×4 set-up draws power from a 69kWh battery, which feeds two motors for a combined 422bhp.
It also offers 264 miles of range – certainly enough for weekend explorations.
Jim Rowan, Volvo Cars’ CEO, said: “We launched our first Cross Country car over 25 years ago, and this concept of durable and all-weather cars is core to the Volvo brand.
“In Sweden, we face harsh winters, but we also like to make the most of them by getting out and exploring our amazing nature, even when it’s minus 20 Celsius outside.
“That’s why we want to deliver a fully rounded experience – not simply a car – to our EX30 Cross Country customers.”
Volvo last introduced the Cross Country badge some 25 years ago with the V70 XC.
Since then, in the UK at least, this rugged, special off-road trim has been non-existent.
The Cross Country EX30 line-up is expected by the summer and will command a premium price – roughly £1,000 over the standard Twin Motor Ultra – so expect it to start around £47,000.

Sir Gino was odds-on fav for the Arkle Chase on day one – and all set for a blockbuster head-to-head with Willie Mullins’ Majborough.
But a wound picked up last week turned out to be much worse than first thought.

In a statement on X, the trainer said: “Firstly, we would just like to say thank you for the absolutely amazing amount of well wishes following Sir Gino’s setback and admittance to the Equine hospital.
“It has been overwhelming that any horse could cause as much sentiment and it is much appreciated by us all.
“Sir Gino remains under treatment and the veterinary team were pleased with how that went yesterday.
“The situation does remain critical but he is comfortable and eating remarkably well under the circumstances.
“The medical attention will be ongoing for the foreseeable future and he is in the very best hands.

Vast ancient pyramid hidden for MILLENNIA near ‘Sacred City’ is unearthed…shedding light on lost ‘advanced’ civilisation
ARCHAEOLOGISTS have unearthed a vast ancient pyramid that was hidden for millennia, right next to a revered sacred city.
They have hailed the find as an opportunity to shed new light on the earliest advanced civilisation in the Americas.

The new pyramid has been dug out at the Chupacigarro archaeological site, just one kilometre west of the world heritage site Caral in the Supe Valley, west Peru.
The discovery was made by the team dedicated to exploring the area around the sacred city, known as the Caral Archaeological Zone.
It is thought the pyramid site – named Sector F – was an extension of the main city.
For thousands of years, it lay beneath earth and shrubs, but then the scientists came across vertical stones – “huancas” – marking out the corners of a building.
They also signify the site as one of ceremonial importance.
The footprint of the ancient structure is rectangular, and features a central staircase that once led up to a towering summit.
It consists of 12 smaller areas scattered across nearby hilltops that historians think were used for ceremonies or other aspects of public life.
Around the outside, archaeologists also came across the ruins of numerous houses.
These discoveries point to the site being a small urban centre – a suburb of the main sacred city Caral.
The central pyramid is formed of at least three overlapping platforms that stacked up to form the body.
It also featured a sunken, central pillar.
One of the most astonishing finds in the dig was a massive “geoglyph” – meaning a design marked on the earth – of a human head.
The huge artwork was over 62 metres long and 30 metres wide.
The Chupacigarro archaeological site sits next to a small stream running through a ravine, which would have supplied water to the ancient Peruvians living there.

The ravine would also have allowed a channel for trade between inland settlements and people living on the coast.
The pyramid is part of a broader network of settlements around Supe Valley.
It was built by people of the Caral civilization, which thrived in ancient Peru for over a thousand years.
The modern Peruvian government hopes the fascinating new find will attract more visitors interested in the area’s past.
The Caral civilisation
THE Caral people were an ancient civilisation that lived in modern-day north-central Peru.
They were most established between 3500 and 1800 BC – making them the earliest advanced society in the Americas.
The group is significant because they are one of the six societies from where civilisation is thought to have separately bloomed.
The Caral developed at least 30 major settlements which were concentrated near the South Pacific coast of western Peru.
They were incredibly capable farmers compared with other civilisations from that era, and cultivated cotton plants which they used for fishing nets or clothing.
They also built numerous pyramids – like the one at Chupacigarro – at the same time the ancient Egyptians were doing so.
Another major achievement of their society was the development of the quipu – an encoded system of recording information.
The existence of the Caral people was only discovered in 1948, by Paul Kosok.
Map reveals where kids are most likely to lose their teeth as 120 have NHS ops to remove decaying gnashers a DAY
THE proportion of five-year-olds with rotting teeth is rising in three areas of England, new figures have revealed – with experts warning of a dental health crisis.
The latest statistics show as many as six in 10 children in some areas are at risk of needing fillings, and in some cases tooth loss, by the age of five, with clear differences between poorer regions of England and the more affluent.

The three areas with the highest rates of tooth decay among five-year-olds are the North East, London and the South West.
At a regional level, Manchester has the highest percentage of five-year-olds with enamel and/or dentinal decay – with 60.8 per cent of children affected there in 2024.
This is followed by South Hams in Devon (49.6 per cent), Pendle in Lancashire (49.0 per cent) and Salford (48.2 per cent).
Rochford in Essex had the lowest percentage (4.9 per cent), followed by St Albans (6.0 per cent), North Hertfordshire (6.9 per cent) and Bromsgrove (8.0 per cent).
The data shows a clear North-South divide, with the three highest percentages (not including London) all in northern England.
While England as a whole has seen a drop in the percentage of children with enamel and/or dentinal decay – from 29.3 per cent in 2022 to 26.9 per cent in 2024 – it has risen in the North East, from 26.0 per cent to 27.7 per cent.
In the South West, the percentage has jumped from 23.3 per cent to 24.2 per cent, and from 28.5 per cent in London to 30.0 per cent.
One of the main causes of enamel erosion is acids found in food and drink.
The report said: “It is especially important to determine the proportion of children with enamel decay who do not yet have dentinal decay, as in the past, children were often regarded as ‘free of decay’.”
The British Dental Association (BDA) said there has been “no progress” on the rollout of Labour manifesto pledges to “fix the failed contract fuelling the crisis in NHS dentistry” or to deliver prevention programmes in schools.
Chairman Eddie Crouch, said: “This oral health gap was made in Westminster, with children paying the price for official failure to take dentistry seriously.
“A new Government calls this ‘Dickensian’, but it will take deeds not words to turn this around.”
Liberal Democrat health spokesperson Helen Morgan said: “The Labour government’s promised 700,000 additional dental appointments have so far proven as real as the Loch Ness monster.
“To see your child in pain is one of the worst feelings a parent can go through.
“But to think that so much of this suffering could be prevented if the scourge of dental deserts was ended makes it all the more infuriating that we are still in this situation.
“It is time ministers woke up, gripped this crisis and prevented more unnecessary suffering.”

The Royal College of Surgeons said, in 2022/23, some 47,581 children required tooth extractions in NHS hospitals, with 66 per cent (31,165 cases) directly attributed to decay.
This is the equivalent of 120 hospital operations every working day, it said.
Dr Charlotte Eckhardt, dean of the faculty of dental surgery at the Royal College of Surgeons, said: “We’ve seen a slight improvement overall in the number of five-year-olds with tooth decay, but it is still too high.
“The fact that more than one in five children still suffer from an entirely preventable condition is concerning.
“Supervised toothbrushing programmes (STPs), which the Government has said it will implement, offer a glimmer of hope, but their roll-out is uneven across the country.
“STPs have proven to reduce dental decay within a single year after children have been enrolled.”
Toothbrushing tips for kids
WHEN it comes to kids brushing their teeth, it’s important to use a fluoride toothpaste, as this helps prevent and control tooth decay.
According to the NHS, children aged up to three years should:
- Start brushing your baby’s teeth as soon as the first milk tooth breaks through (usually at around 6 months, but it can be earlier or later).
- Parents or carers should brush the teeth.
- Brush teeth twice daily for about 2 minutes with fluoride toothpaste.
- Brush last thing at night before bed and on 1 other occasion.
- Use children’s fluoride toothpaste containing no less than 1,000ppm of fluoride (check label) unless a dentist advises family toothpaste containing between 1,350ppm and 1,500ppm fluoride.
- Use only a smear of toothpaste.
- Make sure children don’t eat or lick toothpaste from the tube.
Children aged 3 to 6 years should:
- Brush at least twice daily for about 2 minutes with fluoride toothpaste.
- Brush last thing at night before bed and at least on 1 other occasion.
- Parents or carers should brush the teeth.
- Use children’s fluoride toothpaste containing no less than 1,000ppm of fluoride (check label) unless a dentist advises family toothpaste containing between 1,350ppm and 1,500ppm fluoride.
- Use only a pea-sized amount of toothpaste.
- Spit out after brushing and don’t rinse – if you rinse, the fluoride won’t work as well.
Children aged 7 and over should:
- Brush at least twice daily for about 2 minutes with fluoride toothpaste.
- Brush last thing at night before bed and at least on 1 other occasion.
- Use fluoride toothpaste containing between 1,350ppm and 1,500ppm of fluoride (check label).
- Spit out after brushing and don’t rinse – if you rinse, the fluoride won’t work as well.
Children aged 7 and over should be able to brush their own teeth, but it’s still a good idea to watch them to make sure they brush properly and for about 2 minutes.

Check little-known iPhone folder stealing your storage and DELETE everything in it – I couldn’t believe how bad mine was
UNLOCK your iPhone and get your thumbs ready to hit “delete” – because there’s a folder you need to empty out right now.
It’s packed with loads of useless stuff that will be gobbling up your valuable storage.

An iPhone’s storage space is precious stuff: it’s where all of your photos, videos and apps are kept. It can fill up pretty quickly.
Usually getting extra storage means paying for pricier iPhone models – and then you’ll fork out even more to back it up with iCloud.
So one solution is to trim the amount of storage that you need in the first place.
SPACE SAVER
Go into your Photos app and scroll down until you find the Utilities section.
In there, you should see a tab called Duplicates.
This is where Apple keeps track of every photo and video that you’ve got doubles, triples, or even quadruples of.
It can happen very easily, especially if you use an app like WhatsApp where you might receive the same image in multiple chats.
I checked my duplicates folder and found a frankly shocking 10,843 duplicate pictures and clips.
By clearing them out, I instantly free up dozens of gigabytes of storage.
If you’ve got lots of videos in particular, you might find yourself unlocking even more storage space.
Each item will be listed in order of recency.
You’ll be able to see the duplicate files, each with a Merge button alongside it.
If you hit Merge, the duplicates will be removed leaving you with an original file.
To make the job quicker, you can tap the Select button in the top-right.

This will let you quickly tap on all of the duplicate files that you want to free up and merge them all in one clean sweep.
There’s even an option to Select All on this page, so you can merge everything in an instant.
That’s the fastest way to free up space, as manually selecting each Merge could take ages if you’ve never cleared out your Duplicates before.
It’s a good idea to check your Duplicates folder every few months to make sure that it isn’t clogging up with unnecessary doubles.
DON'T BREAK THE 1GB RULE!

Low storage isn't just annoying – it could be ruining your iPhone...
Apple has a ‘1GB rule’ that you must never break.
It refers to the minimum amount of free storage space available on your iPhone.
Your iPhone’s performance can drop significantly if you have less than 1GB of free space.
Check your iPhone storage by going into Settings > General > iPhone Storage.
“If your device is low on storage, iOS or iPadOS automatically frees up space while installing an app, updating iOS or iPadOS, downloading music, recording videos, and more,” Apple explains.
“iOS or iPadOS only removes items that can be downloaded again or that aren’t needed anymore.”
Apple adds: “If your available storage is consistently less than 1GB, your device might slow down as iOS or iPadOS repeatedly makes room for more content.”

EXTRA SPACE
If this doesn’t free up enough space, you’ve got some other options too.
The easiest thing to do is going into Settings > General > iPhone Storage.
This will show how much free space you have left, and it even details which apps are taking up the most storage.
More importantly, you should find a list of recommendations at the top of the page.

These are one of the most effective ways of freeing up storage space on an iPhone.
For instance, you can use Offload Unused Apps to keep the files associated with apps you don’t use regularly – but removing the apps themselves.
Then you can restore them when you need them without having to keep them saved the whole time.
You might also see an option to Remove Older Downloads.

This will let you keep just the latest five automatically downloaded episodes per show on your iPhone.
It won’t affect anything that you’ve saved or manually downloaded.
And you can hit Review Downloaded Media to see what’s saved on your iPhone – letting you scrub anything that you don’t want.
You could easily free up huge amounts of space with these tricks, so they’re worth trying before you fork out on a pricier iPhone model with extra storage.
