Amazon cuts iPad by 34% – but is selling a cheap tablet that ‘gives it a run for its money’ and it’s £235 less

AMAZON has two tablet deals up for grabs right now, both with big savings.
The Apple iPad is down by a massive 34%, but if you’re after something more budget-friendly, there’s a hidden gem that’s £235 cheaper and still delivers great value

Apple iPad 10th Generation (Renewed), £450 £294.99
I’ve seen my fair share of Amazon deals, and Apple’s price cuts are always worth noting.
At the moment, you can find a great deal on its iPad, which sees the 10.9-inch tablet available for £294.99, down from its usual £450.
Granted, this is for a renewed model, so it’s not going to be fresh out of the box.
But it has been professionally tested and comes with a one-year warranty for peace of mind.
Its features are undeniably impressive, no surprise with Apple tech.
It sports a Liquid Retina display with True Tone technology, and the A14 Bionic chip offers speedy performance with a 6-core CPU and 4-core GPU.
The cameras don’t disappoint either; a 12MP Wide rear camera and a 12MP Ultra Wide front camera with Center Stage make it ideal for family video calls.
Apple’s tablets are a favourite for a reason, and shoppers agree this renewed model is ‘great quality’ and they ‘wouldn’t have known it was refurbished.’
It’s also a fantastic saving on a relatively up-to-date model, but the long and short of it is that even renewed Apple tech doesn’t come cheap.
You’re paying a premium for that sleek design and iconic logo.

Doogee U10 2025 Android 14 10-inch Tablet, £79.99 £59.99
If you’re not fussed about big-name brands and just want a reliable tablet, Amazon has plenty of hidden gems worth a look.
Take the Doogee U10 Android tablet, currently on sale for £59.99, down from £79.99.
That’s a huge £235 less than the iPad, making it a much better pick for families who want something the kids can use without stressing over sticky fingers or accidental drops.
It doesn’t come with Apple’s prestige, but its price tag and features make it a great alternative for those on a tighter budget.
Don’t be fooled by these low-spend devices, they often deliver surprising value for money.
The Doogee U10 runs on the Android 14 operating system and comes with a 10.1-inch display, which is just a touch smaller than the iPad’s.
It’s powered by a Quad-core CPU, offers 128GB of storage (expandable to 1TB), and has a battery that lasts up to 12 hours with general use.
The stereo speakers and 5MP rear camera won’t win any awards, but they’re perfectly fine for everyday tasks.
Amazon shoppers seem thoroughly impressed, with one noting, ‘It actually gives my 5th generation iPad a run for its money.’
Another praised the tablet as a ‘feature-packed steal for the price.’
This isn’t the first standout deal to catch my eye this month; just last week, I covered a Garmin smartwatch alternative that came in a whopping £159 cheaper.

Mum-of-six ‘looks 15 again’ after shedding HALF her body weight and dropping down from a size 20 to 4
A MUM-of-six looks “unrecognisable” after shedding half her body weight and dropping from a size 20 to a 4.
Chelsea Doyle had her first child at just 15 years old – by her sixth, she’d gained five stone and crept up six dress sizes.

The 28-year-old tried her hand at number of fad diets between each pregnancy, but none of them stuck.
Also a self-confessed binge-eater, Chelsea would sometimes have as many as five takeaways a week and found herself unable to stop eating even when she wasn’t hungry.
She began to feel less and less like herself – and even refused to leave the house while at her heaviest weight of 16st 7lbs.
Chelsea decided enough was enough two years ago and splashed out £2,400 on gastric sleeve surgery in Turkey in a bid to regain her pre-baby body.
The full-time mum lost half her body weight [eight stone] within a year of the stomach-shrinking op in February 2023.
But her rapid weight loss left her with loose skin, which she felt insecure about.
Last year Chelsea forked out £6,500 on a tummy tuck, liposuction and breast implants and uplift before spending another £4,000 on an arm and thigh lift in January.
She now weighs 8st 2lbs and has dropped from size 20 to a size 4, leaving her feeling confident enough to wear crop tops and bikinis.
Chelsea, from Bromley, South West London, said: “I’ve got six children and essentially had back-to-back labours.
“I didn’t lose the weight in between, I just gained and gained.
“I’d tried shakes, Slimming World, Weight Watchers – there wasn’t a diet out there that I hadn’t tried.
“I wanted to get back to my body pre-kids but I would gain it back as quickly as I lost it. I couldn’t stick to it.
“I didn’t want to go out, I didn’t feel comfortable wearing anything, I didn’t feel myself.
“I avoided going on holiday when I was big and I didn’t even want to take the children swimming. It was my biggest insecurity.

“I was a massive binge-eater. If I was depressed, I would eat and if I was happy, I would eat. I was eating four or five takeaways a week.
“It was like a food addiction. I wasn’t even hungry but I would just eat and eat.”
In December 2022, Chelsea researched weight-loss surgeries in Turkey and she underwent her gastric-sleeve operation just three weeks after paying for it.
Health Secretary Wes Streeting has previously warned that cut-price cosmetic ops in Turkey are “too good to be true” and Brits who travel for boob jobs, tummy tucks, butt and facelifts are putting their lives at risk.
Chelsea's diet pre and post weight loss
A self confessed binge-eater, Chelsea often indulged in takeaways before her weight loss.
Here’s what she ate:
- Breakfast – Full English breakfast
- Lunch – Chips
- Dinner – Chinese, Indian, spaghetti bolognese, lasagna
- Snacks – McDonald’s
Here’s what she eats after undergoing surgery:
- Breakfast – Cup of tea
- Lunch – Protein shake/bar
- Dinner – Chicken and salad or rice
- Snacks – Fruit
Chelsea lived off a liquid food diet when she returned home, shedding a stone in weight within the first week.
She claims the ‘mummy makeover’ surgeries that followed changed her life and that people don’t even recognise her.
Chelsea said: “My confidence has come back now. I take my children out all the time now and I take them on holiday. I’m so much happier.
“I’m never out of breath or tired anymore, I’ve got so much more energy.

“Some people don’t even recognise me, they can’t believe what I look like. I wish I’d done it sooner.
“I’m wearing bikinis, crop tops, shorts and nice underwear now but I wouldn’t even look at them before.
“I went to Lanzarote in November and lived in a bikini but I would have never dreamt of doing that before the surgeries.
“People tell me how much younger I look. This surgery saved my life.”
How to lose weight without surgery
There are various other ways to lose weight without going under the knife.
According to the NHS, to get the best possible start on its weight loss plan, there are the seven steps you should follow.
- Get active for 150 minutes a week – you can break this up into shorter sessions
- Aim to get your 5 A Day – 80g of fresh, canned or frozen fruit or vegetables count as 1 portion
- Aim to lose 1 to 2lbs, or 0.5 to 1kg, a week
- Read food labels – products with more green colour coding than amber and red are often a healthier option
- Swap sugary drinks for water – if you do not like the taste, add slices of lemon or lime for flavour
- Cut down on food that’s high in sugar and fat – start by swapping sugary cereal for wholegrain alternatives
- Share your weight loss plan with someone you trust – they can help motivate you when you have a bad day
Mum-of-three found dead with ‘sharp force injury’ after house fire is pictured – & girl, 13, charged with murder
A MUM found dead with a sharp force injury after a house fire has been pictured for the first time.
Marta Bednarczyk, 43, died in the suspected arson attack at her home in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire, on Monday morning.

A 13-year-old girl has been charged with murder and arson with intent to endanger life.
The teen, who cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared before Northampton Magistrates Court today.
She was then remanded in custody.
Cops arrested the girl on Monday following the discovery of a body in a house in Newcomen Road, shortly after 3am that morning.
A post-mortem examination at Leicester Royal Infirmary found Marta died as a result of a “sharp force injury”, Northamptonshire Police said.
Firefighters had also attended the address after reports came in of a fire at the property.
Cops have asked people to avoid the immediate area.
A spokesman for Northamptonshire Police said: “A 13-year-old girl has been charged with the murder of a woman in Wellingborough.
“The child, who cannot be named for legal reasons, is also charged with arson with intent to endanger life.
“She was arrested on Monday following the discovery of a body in a house in Newcomen Road, shortly after 3am that morning.
“Formal identification has yet to be confirmed but she is believed to be 43-year-old mother-of-three Marta Bednarczyk.
“A forensic post-mortem investigation, which took place at Leicester Royal Infirmary, gave the preliminary cause of death as being a result of sharp force injury.
“Police and firefighters had attended the address after reports came in of a fire at the property. Inside, police officers found Marta’s body and paramedics sadly declared her dead at the scene at 3.29am.”
Detective Chief Insp Johnny Campbell said yesterday: “This evening we have formally charged a 13-year-old Wellingborough girl with murder, and arson, and she will appear before Northampton Magistrates Court at 10am tomorrow.
“I want to take a moment to thank the many police officers and staff who are working and continue to work tirelessly on this investigation since the very tragic events of early yesterday morning.
“And, in particular, all our thoughts are with Marta’s family who have been fully co-operative throughout what has been a devastating couple of days for them.
“Given the developments this evening, we will be making no further comment at this time.”

Coronation Street fans spot clues about bombshell twist for Kit Green as soap films huge flashback
Coronation Street viewers believe they have uncovered DC Kit Green’s mysterious connection to the newest Weatherfield residents, Mick and Lou Michaelis. The couple, who arrived separately in February, are already making waves on the cobbles.
Mick and Lou are part of a new family set to shake up Corrie. Described as ‘nightmare neighbours’ determined to make life difficult for those who cross them.

Lou, played by Farrel Hegarty, made an unforgettable entrance, clashing with Aadi Alahan over a shop purchase and quickly bonding with Gemma Winter-Brown after recognising her from their children’s school.
A few days later, Mick, played by Joe Layton, moved into their new home. It was soon revealed that he was the van driver following Chesney Brown, hinting at his more sinister side.
Corrie fans were previously told that Mick and Lou have a connection to Kit, who arrived on the Street last year after Bernie Winter went on a mission to find her long-lost son, Zodiac.
Now, speculation is mounting after ITV was spotted filming scenes in Irlam this week, reportedly recreating a 2008 flashback with younger actors portraying Kit, Mick, and Lou.
Although ITV has yet to confirm details, The Sun previously reported that these scenes could reveal long-buried secrets about Kit’s past.
ONLINE SLEUTHS
Social media is already buzzing with theories, with many convinced that Kit is the father of Brody, Dylan Wilson’s prison buddy.
One X user penned: “It’s been confirmed that this character with ‘Young Kit Green’ is ‘Lou Michaelis’ and it looks like some hand holding is happening. Brody is around 15/16 years old and this flashback is 2008.”
While another person pondered: “He’s Brody’s dad, isn’t he? And someone else added: “Omg I KNEW it – Brody is gonna be Kit’s kid and that’s his connection to Lou and Mick.”
Continuing the speculation, a fourth user wrote: “17 is about the age of that inmate guy who is very clearly the son of the new couple. Yep, this is where they’re going with it then.” Another person agreed, adding: “Ah, so I guess Kit MAYBE Brody’s dad. #Corrie #CoronationStreet @itvcorrie.”
Kit, played by Jacon Roberts, initially denied being adopted when Bernie tracked him down, but it was later confirmed that he was indeed her long-lost son.
His arrival caused friction with Bernie’s children, Paul Foreman and Gemma Winter, before Paul’s tragic death brought them closer together.
While Kit may no longer be stirring trouble within his own family, he doesn’t seem to have a problem causing chaos elsewhere.
With flashback scenes on the horizon, it looks like Corrie fans won’t have to wait long to discover the truth behind Kit’s mysterious past and his connection to the Michaelis family.

Sabrina Carpenter now facing almost 1,000 Ofcom complaints over ‘too sexy’ Brit Awards performance
POP star Sabrina Carpenter has received even more complaints to the media watchdog, Ofcom, over her set at last week’s Brit Awards.
The Please, Please, Please singer, 25, performed two of her hits at the ceremony in London, and while she got plenty of cheers from the audience, some people watching at home thought her set was ‘too sexy.’

Sabrina opened the show in a red lingerie ensemble and in her premiere Brits performance donned a Union Jack wrap and featured dancers dressed as The King’s Guard.
She sung her hits Espresso and Bed Chem during the opening number, which included her dancing on a red, heart-shaped bed.
Viewers were divided over the performance with some on social media dubbing it too risque for the 8:20pm time slot, and others taking it a step further by registering complaints with Ofcom.
Along with Charli XCX’s outfit, the pair received 825 complaints which has now jumped to almost 1,000 more than a week after the Brits aired on TV.
Since airing on March 1, the Brit Awards received a further 104 complaints bringing the total to 929 reports to the media watchdog.
An Ofcom spokesperson told The Sun this week: “The majority of complaints related to Sabrina Carpenter’s opening dance routine, and to Charlie XCX’s outfit. These are additional to last week and the cumulative total is 929.”
Charli XCX rocked the red carpet in a sheer black dress and managed to be a huge success on the night.
She won the Brit Awards for the Artist, Album, Songwriter, Song of the Year and Dance Act categories.
Sabrina appeared to react to the social media commentary and Ofcom complaints about her performance in an Instagram post after the Brits.
The Grammy-award winner posted a series of photos from the night, including backstage and red carpet snaps, along with a caption reacting to the Ofcom complaints she was threatened with.
“Brits i now know what watershed is!!!!” Sabrina wrote, referring to the broadcasting code that dictates what kind of content can be shown on TV before the 9pm watershed.

Chloe Madeley’s rugby ace ex James Haskell seen holding hands with mystery woman at Cheltenham after split
EX-ENGLAND star James Haskell has been spotted with a mystery woman at Cheltenham.
The pair were seen together on day two of the prestigious racing festival.

Racegoers told the Sun that James, 39, and the mystery woman were seen holding hands at the track.
It comes after the former rugby union ace announced the end of his five-year marriage to Chloe Madeley, 37.
The couple called time on their marriage in October 2023, shortly after filming their ITV documentary, Chloe Madeley: A Family Affair.
Cheltenham Festival 2025 continues this afternoon after a dramatic first day of action at Prestbury Park.
Today’s racing is headlined by the Queen Mother Champion Chase on what is set to be a thrilling afternoon.
Members of the Royal Family have arrived at Cheltenham ahead of day two’s start.
Queen Camilla was amongst the party arriving on Style Wednesday.
James and his ex-wife Chloe have stayed on good terms since their shock split.
The pair co-parent their two-year-old daughter Bodhi and James has nothing but praise for the mother of his child.
James previously said: “Chloe is an amazing woman, extremely talented. She’s made me a much better person being with her.
“Now we’re separated.. you separate essentially because you want to make sure your daughter has the best possible life.
“I think when you have a child, you have a responsibility and everything your other wishes go out the window.
“As you grow in relationships, marriage is a really interesting thing, because a lot of people change, elements change, careers change, and you kind of, the confines of it mean that everything else grows but it doesn’t grow.
“So now the ability for us to co-parent is so important.”
James did go on to admit that the arrival of Bodhi in August 2022 put a big strain on his relationship with Chloe, who is the daughter of TV legends Richard Madeley and Judy Finnigan.
Little-known European seaside town is selling April breaks for 84p
SICULIANA is offering a weekend away for two people at the cost of €1.
With this scheme from the Siculiana tourist board, you can bag yourself a Sicilian getaway for less than the cost of a Mars Bar, but there are a few catches to be aware of.

In a bid to boost tourism to the seaside town, you can buy a three-night weekend escape for €1, which works out as 84p – for reference, a Mars Bar now costs 95p in the supermarket.
Included in the stay are accommodation, meals and guided tours.
Advertised on their website, the only cost you have to pay is the €1 – which is Sicily’s tourist tax.
But that’s not strictly true as flights are not included. From the UK, the closest airport to Siculiana is Palermo.
We found return flights through Skyscanner from the UK to Palermo from £51 with Wizz Air.
From Palermo, you have to take a taxi, or hire a car for a two hour drive.
If you still fancy the holiday, and let’s face it, this break is still a bargain, then you need to apply through the council website.
You have to go in pairs, and both participants must be 18 years and over.
To go on the experience, you have to apply with a 30 second video explaining why you and your travel partner want to participate.
The experience will take place on the weekend of April 4, 5 and 6 with an application deadline of Saturday 15 March.

A total of 10 couples will be selected and winners will be announced by Thursday 20 March.
As detailed on their website, the experience includes a two-night stay, welcome drinks, breakfast, lunch and dinner and a drink to conclude the break by the marina.
There will also be free guided tours with a cultural itinerary among the historical places of Siculiana and activities where you’ll learn about local customs and traditions.
While on the break, you have to document your experience with a video diary your experience in Siculiana.
This needs to include highlights throughout the trip and the most significant moments of your stay.
And you must be happy with the tourist board to publish any videos and photos you take for their campaign.
As with many European destinations, they are a little quieter in the winter and so Siculiana are hoping to boost visitors all-year round.
There’s lots to do around Siculiana from exploring the beautiful coastline to exploring the Castello Chiaramonte – a castle perched on a cliff top.
For a break in April, expect the weather to hit highs of 19 degrees.
For more information on the €1, have a look at the application and details here.
Plus, we found an Sicily’s best-kept secret, a tiny island 30 miles north of Palermo perfect for diving.
And hear what Sicily is really like from someone who has been living there for 18 years.
This Man Bought A House In Italy For One Euro

Hussain took advantage of buying an Italian home for one euro...
A Brit previously revealed how he bought one of Italy’s “one euro” homes – and plans to visit every summer. Hussain Ramzan, 31, paid just €10,500 (£9,000) to buy and renovate the house in Mussomeli, Sicily.
The town launched the one euro homes to encourage foreign tourists and stop the depopulation of the area. Hussain said he was tempted by the cheap holiday home option after reading about the scheme back in 2019. While some of the more run down houses are the cheapest options, Hussain paid slightly more for his two-bedroom, 90sqft home.
He told the i: “It was a real bargain, practically an entire building for me and my family. The house was just €4,500 (£3,900) then I spent €3,000 (£2,600) to restyle it and €3,000 for the property deed and the whole paperwork, including the notary fees.”
He said overall he spent just around £9,000 – and that a similar house in the UK would cost £500k.
