Cops in Seoul say the singer was found in a state of a cardiac arrest but they suspect no signs of foul play related to his passing.

He first debuted in 2002 and quickly shot to fame in South Korea for his unique soulful vocals.

His popularity continued to soar throughout the 2000s with him being widely credited for making R&B grow in South Korea.

Wheesung went on to establish himself as a mentor and vocal coach to K-pop stars across the country in the past decade.

He was even scheduled to hold a concert with ballad singer KCM this weekend in the city of Daegu.

Fellow artists have paid a number of touching tributes to the singer in the past few hours.

Artist Yoon Min-soo wrote on social media “Wheesung, let’s sing and make music freely in that place. I won’t forget your pure and clear heart.

“Let’s meet again someday and sing together.”

He also shared a heartfelt video of the pair performing a duet.

Rapper Verbal Jint also shared a statement which read: “Every moment we shared was an honour, and I’m grateful.

“You’ve worked so hard, rest in peace, Wheesung.”

In recent years, Wheesung faced a number of controversies.

In 2021, he was handed a two-year suspended sentence for abusing powerful anesthetic propofol.

Then within days in March and April 2020, Wheesung was found unconscious on two separate occasions due to similar sleep-inducing drugs.

His tragic passing comes just weeks after promising South Korean actress Kim Sae-ron was found dead at her home aged just 24.

Kim, who starred in Netflix hit Bloodhounds, was discovered by her close friend who quickly alerted police.

Heartbreaking reason Cat Deeley missed husband Patrick Kielty’s mum’s funeral revealed as she appears on This Morning

CAT Deeley has revealed the heartbreaking reason she was absent from husband Patrick Kielty’s mum Mary’s funeral yesterday.

The This Morning host, 48, was notably missing from the mournful occasion in Dundrum, Ireland.

Late Late Show host Patrick was pictured carrying his mum’s coffin a week after she died at her home in Co Down.

A spokesman for Cat told the Mail: “Cat remained at home to be there for her two young children before and after school on this very sad day.”

Cat and Patrick have two sons – Milo, eight, and James, five.

The popular presenter carried out school drop-offs and pick-ups either side of hosting yesterday’s This Morning alongside Ben Shephard.

A death notice described Mrs Kielty as a “loving mother” and “devoted grandmother” and added that she “will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her entire family circle, neighbours and friends”.

Mary Kielty is survived by her three sons, Patrick, John and Cahal.

The TV host’s father, Jack was tragically killed at the age of 44 during the troubles.

Patrick, who wore a dark grey suit with a white shirt and black tie, was visibly emotional as he carried the coffin on his shoulders to the church.

Dozens of family, friends and locals gathered outside on the streets to follow the hearse and pay their final respects.

Mourners at the Church of the Sacred Heart heard that Mrs Kielty had had “a difficult life”, referring to the death of her husband.

“It left its impact not only on the close family and friends, but also on the wider community,” parish priest Robert Fleck said.

“On the occasion of her funeral, we recommit ourselves to working for peace and reconciliation in the divided community that is the north of Ireland.”

Canon Fleck said that in his last conversation with Mrs Kielty, she was “a bit tired” but managed to share some stories.

“Mary had a good sense of humour, her family have thrived on this gift,” he said.

“Recently, Pope Francis met a number of world comedians, including Mary’s stand-up comic son, Patrick.

“He spoke, the Pope did, of the gift that was theirs, and of how it also pointed to the joy of resurrection.”

In the eulogy, Mrs Kielty’s eldest son John spoke about their “brilliant” childhood in the 1970s despite it being associated with “the darkest days” of the Troubles.

He said that Mrs Kielty was “a brilliant” mother and took her three sons “everywhere” while their father worked with showbands and at dances.

Kielty’s father John ‘Jack’ Kielty was murdered by the Ulster Freedom Fighters in 1988 during the Troubles.

Patrick was just 16 at the time and recalled the moment he was told of the tragic news in a BBC documentary.

He said: “It was the very first Red Nose Day and I’d put the posters up all around the school.

“When I was called to the headmaster’s office, I thought I was going to get told off because I’d plastered the entire school with them. Then I got to his office and one of my dad’s business colleagues was there. That’s when I knew something was terribly wrong.

‘I remember thinking, “I need to get home. How’s my mum? Where’s everybody else?” At the time you don’t realise you’re going through shock.'”

At the funeral, his brother John continued: ” Mary’s life changed in 1988 when daddy was killed. Left with three sons aged 18 and under, it was a real bad hand of cards.

“She got a job in the school, got involved in the football club. She even managed to become chairperson and she got the three of us reared.”

He said that in the 1990s, her grandchildren were born and gave her a new lease of life.

‘Maybe if I wasn’t a snooker player…’ Shaun Murphy reveals surprising career ‘I would’ve found my way into’

SHAUN MURPHY has revealed the career path he believes he would have found himself moving into if he wasn’t a snooker player.

Murphy, 42, is the reigning Masters champion.

Shaun Murphy has revealed what career path he would have taken if he wasn’t a snooker player[/caption]

If his career has proven anything, he is more than befitting of the nickname The Magician owing to the moments of magic he can create with a snooker cue.

And Murphy believes he would have found himself in the entertainment industry even if his snooker skills were not up to scratch.

Speaking on his In The Frame YouTube series, Murphy admitted he was a bit confused by his colleagues’ lack of willingness to get the crowd onside.

He then revealed he reckons he would have ended up on the West End due to being “a bit of a performer”.

Murphy said: “I’ve been consistent in my confusion around other players and their lack of interaction with the crowd.

“If you went to the West End and at the end of the show the cast just walked off, you would feel a little hard done to.

“I suppose I am a bit of a performer and maybe if I wasn’t a snooker player, maybe I would’ve found my way into that kind of world.

“So, I think it’s important to give the crowd everything you can as well. They give you their support, it would be weird to just walk off.”

Cheltenham Festival betting offers and free bets

Murphy pocketed £350,000 for winning The Masters in January.

Meanwhile, West End actors are paid an average yearly salary roughly worth between £32,780 to £45,760 according to London Theatre Direct.

But Murphy has also called on a revamp of snooker rules on misses and a major update to the cue ball.

He said: “I’m going to keep using the spotted cue ball because we’re getting some really good feedback about that.

“You guys are loving seeing the spin, how the spin manipulates the cue ball and what it’s actually doing…

“It’s great that you can see it with one of these. You know what? I actually think we should be using one of these in tournament play.

“I think that you should be able to see this when we’re playing. Think about this, snooker, currently, is the only table sport and cue sport that doesn’t use one of these.”

On misses, he added: “I just find it so weird that we have a rule in the game that allows players to have a sighter.

“I mean in my opinion the miss rule needs taken out of the game altogether. I don’t like the rule at all.”

I’m a cleaner – here’s a 2p hack to instantly remove rust from your shower pole & it’s already sitting in your kitchen

A SAVVY cleaning whizz has shared an easy hack to banish stubborn stains from your shower pole with barely any effort.

Getting your shower sparkling clean can take a while, especially if it’s covered in rust stains that don’t seem to go away no matter what.

One cleaning whizz shared how to effectively banish rust stains using a common kitchen item[/caption]

According to the pro, the answer is regular tinfoil, which sells for 39p at Waitrose[/caption]

But there’s no need to worry because one expert has shared their super easy trick that will have it looking brand new in no time.

Cleaning pro, only known as @jodazzlers on TikTok, revealed that all you need is one item that you might even already have in your kitchen cupboard.

And even if you don’t have it, it only costs 39p to pick it up from Waitrose or any other major supermarkets.

The founder and director of Dazzlers Cleaning Services swears by using regular kitchen foil to effectively get rid of rust stains on the shower pole – and it costs just 2p per use.

While many may assume that then foil will damage the pole and leave scratches on the surface, the cleaning whizz reassured everyone the foil just ”skims” the rust off.

The pro demonstrated the straightforward hack in a recent video on the platform – and it really doesn’t get any easier than this.

Simply grab a small piece of tinfoil and go over the rust stains in a scrub-like motion.

One by one, the clip showed, the dark brown marks disappeared – and the shower pole was looking brand new.

What’s more, as if this trick already wasn’t fabulous enough, the same material can also be used to spruce up your utensils.

The expert said in the comments: ”Pop some in the dish washer and your knives and forks come up new.”

The way that aluminum foil works to eradicate rust is actually pretty simple.

When they come in contact with one another, a chemical reaction occurs that essentially reverses the oxidation process that caused the rust in the first place.

While it’s not necessary, it’s highly recommended to use either water or white vinegar as a lubricant to help the foil slide along the metal.

Note that vinegar should not be used on stainless steel or cast iron, but you can still use aluminum foil with water to clean anything made of these materials.

The most common question about this hack is whether the foil scratches the metal surface.

Because aluminum is softer than metal, the answer is no, it will not. In fact, it’s a safer alternative to using a steel wool scouring stick for this very reason.

Since being posted online, the hack has taken the internet by storm, winning the thrifty cleaner over 365k views in less than a week, with dozens flooding to comments.

One advised another method, writing: ”Put ketchup on the tinfoil too, thank me later!”

Someone else was keen to give it a go, commenting: ”Ask me, how many times I’ve seen this at different times, but always forgot to do it on my shelves in the shower.

”Need to remember to do it tomorrow, thanks.”

”Tin foil??? I’ve learnt something new thank you,” a third chimed in.

However, not everyone was raving over the 2p trick, with some claiming it didn’t work for them.

White House NOT ruling out foul play after US tanker struck by ship carrying sodium cyanide – as fire still burns in sea

THE White House is not ruling out foul play after a US tanker was struck by a cargo ship carrying highly toxic sodium cyanide.

Fires aboard both vessels – which collided in the North Sea off the East Yorkshire coast – have continued to burn overnight.

Flames ripped through both vessels – with fires still burning[/caption] Illustration of a vessel crash in the North Sea, showing the location of the collision and the involved ships.

A search for a missing crew member from the cargo ship was called off last night, while Coastguard aircraft monitor the situation.

HM Coastguard said efforts to find the person from the Solong container ship had ended after “an extensive search”, following the ship’s collision with the Stena Immaculate tanker on Monday morning.

A senior White House official told the maritime website gCaptain.com that foul play had not been ruled out with the cause of the collision still under investigation.

It comes as a trawlerman involved in the rescue told The Sun: “It’s a miracle they didn’t all die. The fog was pretty horrendous.”

He said: “We were two miles away when the mayday call came in. When we approached it was very scary. We could see the plumes of smoke. There was a really strong smell of fuel burning.

“We were told there was a person missing at sea and to begin a search. Crew began abandoning both ships around 30 minutes later.”

Meanwhile, UN Maritime Security Leader Chris Reynolds has warned that any oil spilled from the wreckage would have a “very short window” to be removed before it could pose a greater environmental threat to the area.

He explained that any oil that escapes could emulsify and then potentially reach the shore as an oil emulsion, which would have a “devastating effect” on wildlife.

Chris added: “If the oil’s not burnt off by the fire, [it] will stay there.

The maritime company managing the Stena Immaculate, Crowley, said the vessel was struck by the Solong while anchored off the coast of Hull, causing “multiple explosions” on board and jet fuel it was carrying to be released.

Crowley said it was unclear how much fuel may have been released, but that Stena Immaculate was carrying 220,000 barrels of jet fuel in 16 segregated cargo tanks when it was struck.

The tanker was operating as part of the US government’s Tanker Security Programme, a group of commercial vessels that can be contracted to carry fuel for the military when needed.

It had been anchored while it waited for a berth to become available at the Port of Killingholme, on the River Humber, Crowley said.

According to reports, the Solong was carrying sodium cyanide, which can produce harmful gas when combined with water, but it was unclear if there had been any leak.

HM Coastguard divisional commander Matthew Atkinson said an assessment of any required counter-pollution response was being carried out by the Maritime and Coastguard Agency.

Lifeboats and a coastguard helicopter were called to the collision in the Humber Estuary just before 10am.

One RNLI crew member told The Times the fog was so thick during the initial search and rescue crews could “not see a thing”.

It is understood the US and Portugal will lead investigations into the incident and that work is ongoing to establish the full contents of both ships.

Dr Tom Webb, senior lecturer in marine ecology and conservation at the University of Sheffield, said: “The wildlife of the Yorkshire coast and Humber Estuary is of immense biological, cultural and economic importance.

“In addition to the wealth of marine life that is present all year round, this time of the year is crucial for many migratory species.”

Martin Slater, of the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust, told the i Paper the coast was home to “protected and significant” seabird colonies, with many gathering offshore ahead of the nesting season.

Dr Alex Lukyanov, researcher on advanced mathematical models of oil spills from the University of Reading, said: “Oil spills like the one in the North Sea are affected by multiple factors.

“The size of the spill, weather conditions, sea currents, water waves, wind patterns, and the type of oil involved all play crucial roles in determining environmental outcomes.

“This particular incident is troubling because it appears to involve persistent oil, which breaks up slowly in water.”

He added: “The environmental toll could be severe.”

The Prime Minister’s official spokesman said it was an “extremely concerning situation” while Transport Secretary Heidi Alexander said the Maritime Accident Investigation Branch had begun a preliminary assessment of the incident.

Crowley vice president Cal Hayden said: “As with all our operations, Crowley’s priority is to protect the safety of mariners and the environment.

“We greatly appreciate the quick actions and support of the UK authorities, rescue workers and others to today’s incident and remain committed to working with them on the continued response efforts.”

Michael Paterson, UK managing director of the tugboat firm Svitzer, told The Times seven of the company’s vessels were at the scene on Monday.

He said the incident was “one of the more serious that I’ve seen in my time”.

“We don’t know how long this will last, but the phases of this are normally search and rescue and firefighting containment, and then it moves into environmental control, pollution and salvage of the vessels,” he said.

“We understand the search and rescue is now complete, but the firefighting will clearly still continue.”
