Everyone assumes we live like monkeys just because I’m a mum-of-10 kids aged 1 to 16 – I’m so sick of the stigma

A MUM-OF-10 has insisted she hates the “stigma” that comes with having a large family.

Vanessa regularly posts about her busy home life on her social media pages, and has recently been sharing videos of herself prepping dinner for her brood.

A woman reacts to a comment complimenting her kitchen, despite having ten children.
Vanessa, who has 10 kids, took to TikTok to admit she’s sick of the “stigma” surrounding large families

In a comment on one such video, a viewer wrote: “Your kitchen is so nice considering you have 10 kids”.

And Vanessa – mum to kids who are 16, 15, nearly 14, 13, 8, 8, 7, 4, 3 and 22 months – decided to reply in another clip, as she said: “I’m sure this wasn’t meant as a backhanded compliment but it really is.

“No hate to this woman at all, but large families or people with lots of kids just have such a bad stigma attached to them.”

Vanessa explained that whenever she mentions she has a large family, there’s an “automatic low-level thought process” that happens.

“I mean I prefer to spend more time in my kitchen than the average person,” she continued.

“So why not? Why wouldn’t I have a nice kitchen?

“My children aren’t monkeys that hang off the units or climb up the side sometimes to reach something.

“Do you know what I mean?”

She continued to say that when she’s filmed TikToks before, people have commented on how “quiet” her house is.

“People were like, ‘Oh your house is quiet considering you’ve got ten kids’,” she said.

“Like, it’s not crazy all the time!

“And that’s why I’m on TikTok – to break the stigma of large families really.

“Every little helps!”

Vanessa added in the video caption: “I know the comment isn’t meant with any malice but people always naturally have such a low opinion of large families – it’s sad.”

Tips for feeding your family for less

PREPARING tasty meals for a family doesn’t have to be expensive.

Clinical Nutritionist, Suzie Sawyer from Feel Alive UK, has shared how you can cut costs and feed a family of four for just £20 a week.

She advised: “It’s always best to plan meals for the week ahead, whether you’re on a budget, cooking for a hungry family or just looking after yourself.

“However, it’s essential if you’re feeding a family of four on a budget of £20 per week – that’s just £2.85 per day! While it might take a little more planning, it can definitely be achieved.”

LOOK FOR ‘UGLY’ FRUIT AND VEG: Suzie says Morrisons is a great place to start.

She says: “The supermarket chain, Morrisons, in particular have launched a range of ugly fruit and vegetables and also ‘wonky’ fruit.

“We have all come to expect perfect specimens in the supermarket, therefore the less attractive ones get left on the shelf.

“However, they are still packed with essential nutrients and are considerably cheaper in price.”

BUY SUPERMARKET BUDGET BRANDS: A simple yet effective way to feed a family of four on a budget, advises Suzie, is to buy supermarkets’ own budget brands.

She says: “Buy supermarket budget brands – they will generally contain the same levels of nutrients, although they may not taste quite as good.

“However, that could often be down to more sugar, salt or artificial flavours so they might even end up being healthier!”

BATCH COOK: Nutritionist Susie says shoppers should cook in bulk if they’re trying to feed a family of four on a budget.

“Cooking in bulk is a great way of saving money,” explains Suzie.

“For example, a lentil spaghetti bolognaise can be batch cooked and frozen. Many dishes, especially curries, actually taste better after freezing.”

CLEVER SHOPPING: Suzie says there can be a vast difference in price in differing supermarkets – but Morrisons is famous for its low prices.

She says: “There can be a vast difference in price between the big chains so do price match.

“Plus, it’s worth remembering that small corner shops are always going to be much more expensive.

“And there will always be a price benefit from buying in bulk with larger quantities.”

BUY DRIED VERSIONS RATHER THAN TINNED: The nutritionist says buying dried versions of items like beans and lentils – rather than tined – are great family food staples that come within a £20 budget.

Plus – Morrisons have a great range available in all their stores.

Suzie says: “Buy dried versions rather than tinned – I’m talking beans and lentils, which are great sources of protein.

“Buy them in bulk and soak them before using as per their instructions on the pack. Plus, you’ll not be eating salt and sugar generally added to canned food.”

BUY FRUIT AND VEGETABLES LOOSE: Suzie also recommends shoppers feeding a family of four for £20 a week by their fruit and vegetables loose.

She says: “It’s a great idea to check the per kilogram price on foods so you can buy the cheapest but these will generally be lower on loose fruits and veggies, rather than those pre-packaged.

“Plus, you don’t need to buy fruits and vegetables ready chopped (they’ll have lost nutrients in any case), cheese ready-grated or other produce pre-prepared.”

The clinical nutritionist also added that it’s important to note that it’s not easy to get all the nutrients the body needs on a daily basis, (bearing in mind there are 45), particularly on a tight budget.

And one person in the comments section wrote: “I get all the comments like this!

“You look so good/young/sane ‘considering’ you have 7 kids!

“So if I didn’t have 7 I must look rubbish/old/crazy etc!”

Urgent recall of popular energy-saving gadget sold at Amazon, eBay and Wilko due to risk of fire

A WINTER warmer product sold by Amazon, eBay and Wilko has been urgently recalled over fears it could overheat and burst into flames.

The Office for Product Safety is calling on shoppers to return the Bauer electric hot water bottle as soon as possible.

Bauer is urgently recalling one of its electric hot water bottles over safety fears

The bottle can be recharged, but comes with a 13-amp fuse instead of 3-amp fuse ,which could lead it to overheat, blow up or catch fire.

Customers are being urged to either return the gadget for a full refund or replace the fuse.

If you’ve got any more questions about your product, you can contact the distributor via email on [email protected] or call 01518 327600.

Shoppers can currently buy the product at a number of retailers including Wilko, Amazon and eBay.

Wilko is selling it for £16.95 and claims it has a run time of four hours.

The hot water bottle is made in China and comes with a CHB-006 model number.

Retailers often issue product recalls over health or safety fears.

Tesco recently recalled batches of dried garlic powder believed to contain traces of peanuts.

A Snuggla electric blanket sold on Amazon, eBay and TikTok shop was also recently recalled over safety fears.

The manufacturer issued the warning, stating the blanket posed a serious risk of fire and burns.

Matalan also issued a recall of its Easter-themed Bunny Tumbler cups last month, with the retailer saying they could cause eye injuries.

Customers who bought the tumbler were being urged to not use the product and return it to their nearest Matalan branch.

Just before Christmas, Primark issued an urgent recall of two popular kids bags that it said posed a choking risk.

The Range recently issued an urgent recall of a popular energy-saving gadget.

The discount retailer warned the Teddy Sherpa electric throw could overheat and catch fire.

Last December, pharmacy chain Boots told shoppers to bring back a faulty Christmas gift over “risk of burn” fears.

The Radley Cosy Up mug and sock set was recalled as the base of the mug could crack and break into pieces when used.

Another festive product was also urgently recalled over injury fears.

John Lewis was forced by safety officials to recall the Quality Street Sweet Glass Baubles due to their resemblance to the chocolates.

You can read more about your rights concerning a recalled product in our guide.

Your product recall rights

Chief consumer reporter James Flanders reveals all you need to know.

Product recalls are an important means of protecting consumers from dangerous goods.

As a general rule, if a recall involves a branded product, the manufacturer would usually have lead responsibility for the recall action.

But it’s often left up to supermarkets to notify customers when products could put them at risk.

If you are concerned about the safety of a product you own, always check the manufacturer’s website to see if a safety notice has been issued.

When it comes to appliances, rather than just food items, the onus is usually on you – the customer – to register the appliance with the manufacturer as if you don’t there is no way of contacting you to tell you about a fault.

If you become aware that an item you own has been recalled or has any safety noticed issued against it, make sure you follow the instructions given to you by the manufacturer.

They should usually provide you with more information and a contact number on its safety notice.

In some cases, the manufacturer might ask you to return the item for a full refund or arrange for the faulty product to be collected.

You should not be charged for any recall work – such as a repair, replacement or collection of the recalled item.

Katie Price’s daughter Princess, 17, hints at new business venture after insisting she’ll be a millionaire by 20

SHE’S vowed to be a millionaire by the age of 20.

And it seems that Katie Price and Peter Andre’s 17-year-old daughter Princess is already mapping out her journey to a mill, judging by her latest social media video.

The teenager regularly shares ‘GRWM‘ (get ready with me) videos of herself as she does her make-up and hair for the day or night ahead.

Her latest clip saw her getting ready to go out for Peter’s birthday, as she began the TikTok by saying: “I feel like I’ve not done a proper get ready with me for ages!”

Princess began by priming her skin with the DollyPrep perfecting primer, before mixing two shades of the Rimmel Multi Tasker foundation to get the perfect colour for her skintone.

Next, she did her brows, using the got2b waterproof eyebrow and edges gel.

“This is so much stronger than the yellow one,” she said, referring to the other popular got2b gel.

“Like it even smells like glue but it actually is so good!”

After blending out her foundation, Princess went in with cream bronzer – one from Studio London and the other from Too Faced.

“I honestly need to know what my make-up blindness is because I feel like it’s bronzer,” she joked.

Rare Beauty blush in Encourage was next, before Princess moved on to the concealer, using a Giorgio Armani one.

She baked her look with Huda Beauty powder, before moving onto her powdered cosmetics – her powder, a Too Faced blush and Benefit’s Hoola bronzer.

She used a setting spray one again, before moving onto her lips and eyes.

Princess used a Too Faced mascara to lengthen her already long lashes, before mixing a Charlotte Tilbury and an Elf lipliner together for the perfect pout shade.

“And that is the make-up,” she concluded, with one last spritz of setting spray.

Princess’ video quickly racked up the views, and was at 1.2 million likes by Monday afternoon.

And people used the comments section to shower praise on the teen, with one writing: “Never ever change, you are so beautiful and gifted in how you do your vids.”

“Absolutely stunning and natural,” another gushed.

Who is Princess Andre and what's her job?

Princess Andre born June 29, 2007, is the daughter of Mysterious Girl singer Peter Andre and former glamour model Katie Price.

The pair also welcomed a son while they were together, Junior, born on June 13, 2005.

Katie and Peter then split in early 2009, with their divorce being finalised in October of the same year.

Princess also has six half siblings, four from Katie and two from Peter.

As of June 2024, Princess has an impressive 750,000 followers on her Instagram account, @officialprincess_andre.

Ahead of her 16th birthday, in June 2023, Princess opened up about what she wants to do with her future during a Q&A with fans and followers.

The teen said she is seeking out “financial freedom” through her beauty and fashion brand deals, as well as her own jewellery brand named ‘Sparkle’ by Princess Andre.

As a third suggested: “Princess, you should come out with your own make-up range.

“Like lipliners, blushes for every skintone, mascara and eyebrow gels and stuff, I’d love that!”

Princess then appeared to hint that a new business venture could be on the horizon, as she replied to the comment with the looking eye emoji.

The hint comes after Princess exclusively told Fabulous magazine about her money-making plans for the future.

Some experts have predicted she’ll be a millionaire by the age of 20.

With Princess responding after the figure is put to her: “That sounds amazing. My goal is definitely up there.”

And asked if she’s already on track to make it happen, Princess smiled: “I mean . . . Yeah, I’d say I am!”

“This is the start of my career and I’m loving it,” she added.

“I want to achieve so many things and be my own person. It’s about taking my time, figuring it out as I go.

“I just know I want to be very successful.”

‘Why is he sliding like he’s celebrating?’ – Monaco keeper makes two shocking blunders in seconds to give away goal

MONACO goalkeeper Radoslaw Majecki dropped an almighty double clanger in a matter of seconds to throw away victory for his side.

Monaco looked set for a 1-0 win thanks to former Liverpool star Takumi Minamino‘s opener in the 17th minute away in Toulouse.

The Japan star’s goal looked like it was going a huge way towards helping Monaco secure a top-four finish in Ligue 1.

That was until disaster struck for the Polish stopper in the 91st minute.

Toulouse midfielder’s Aron Donnum long ball over the top got caught between Majecki and Thilo Kehrer on the edge of the box.

It bounced as Majecki stood with his arms out as if he was going to collect it before Kehrer slipped over.

The team-mates Majecki clattered into each other, before the ball snuck between them and got in behind.

Toulouse striker Frank Magri capitalised on the mix-up and bided his time as the Monaco pair clambered back to their goal.

But it’s what Majecki did next in rushing the recovery that has everybody talking.

As Magri took control of the ball and cut inside, Majecki came rapidly sliding in on his knees and went off the pitch.

His reaction was too hasty before Magri simply held onto the ball for an extra second, before slotting home the equaliser.

Majecki was only walking back onto the pitch when the ball hit the back of the net.

The devastated goalkeeper fell to his knees, with his head in his hands as Toulouse stars celebrated.

One fan wrote: ” Why does he slide across as if he wanted to do a knee slide celebration?”

A second said: “Where does the goalkeeper go? 🤣🤣

A third joked: “He really mastered the art of the knee slide 😂.”

Another added: “The first mistake was bad enough, without sliding in like that. Shocking!”

Monaco missed out on the chance to go third in the table behind Nice, while Toulouse sit 10th.

Glastonbury fans convinced that there is a ‘missing headliner’ about to be announced after poster clue

GLASTONBURY fans are questioning if there’s a secret headliner yet to be announced after “spotting a clue” on the festival poster.

The annual music event announced its official line-up this week, with The 1975, Neil Young and Olivia Rodrigo heading up the main Pyramid stage.

Other acts include Rod Stewart in the Legends slot, Doechii, Charli XCX off the back of her BRIT Awards win, The Prodigy and Alanis Morrisette.

But on Reddit, one fan has come to believe that the line-up doesn’t quite line up.

They wrote: “Just looking at the lineup there are four headliners for Friday and Saturday however on Sunday there are three headliners plus the legend.

“I was just wondering if it’s likely that there is a headliner missing/yet TBA?”

However, while the event is known for its surprise sets from iconic acts, other Glasto fans were quick to clarify.

“Each day has five headliners, which five we only know two for sure but in some cases we know three or four based on other information,” wrote one.

“There might also be headliners for the Avalon and Acoustic there, however the vast majority of the lineup will be the five main stages.”

Another said: “The poster does not reflect headliners at this current time. For example, Raye is not a headliner on the Saturday, she is confirmed to be playing just before Neil Young.

“We also do not know the headliners for the Friday either, as it is believed Biffy Clyro and Alanis Morissette are not headliners.”

“I think you’re confusing the top line to mean stage headliners, which it’s not,” said a third. “Biffy, Alanis, Raye, Rod Stewart and Noah Kahan aren’t headlining a stage.”

The comments come after fans declared they were “convinced” Basement Jaxx would make an appearance despite not being on the line-up.

Loyle Carner is headlining the Other Stage on the Friday, while Charli XCX is performing on the same day as godfather of grunge Young when she tops the second stage.

Dance legends The Prodigy will close the Other Stage on Sunday night.

Raye and US rapper Doechii are also heading to Glastonbury, as are the Deftones and Amyl and the Sniffers.

Britpop veterans Supergrass, rising star Myles Smith, indie stars Wunderhorse and Inhaler, Weezer, country star Shaboozey and noughties art rockers Franz Ferdinand are dotted around the line-up.

Heavily rumoured names that haven’t made the cut includes Sabrina Carpenter and Chappell Roan.

‘Feral’ sisters left stranger blind after kicking and punching her even when she fell unconscious in unprovoked attack

THREE “feral” sisters left a stranger blind after kicking and punching her in a savage unprovoked attack.

Toni Lee Patterson, 32, Ellie Patterson, 20, Abbie Patterson, 19, were out in Scarborough when they randomly ambushed the woman.

Sister Toni Patterson then joined in the brutal assault[/caption]

The victim, aged in her 50s, had left a nearby takeaway when the sisters started attacking her in the street.

Along with their friend Tonia Louise Stott, 35, the thugs punched and kicked the woman until she lost consciousness.

Even while she lay knocked out on the ground, the gang continued to attack her.

All four pleaded guilty to affray, with Toni and Ellie Patterson also admitting wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

York Crown Court heard the victim had been on a night out in October 2023 when the horror unfolded.

The sisters and Stott were earlier refused entry to a nearby bar and were abusive towards the doorman.

As they walked away, they stumbled across the woman, who they had no connection to, and launched into the brutal assault.

Ellie Patterson struck first – punching the victim in the face and dragging her across the pavement by her hair.

Her sister Toni Patterson then joined in, followed by Ellie Patterson, who kicked the victim in the back as she lay unable to move in the road.

Toni Patterson brutally stamped on the woman’s head twice before kicking her in the face as Abbie Patterson joined in.

Passers-by attempted to protect the woman but the elder Patterson just pushed through them and continued kicking her.

At one point, the victim managed to lift her dazed head but was just kicked full-on in the face by the thug.

Stott shoved the gathered crowd out of the way and also attacked the victim before lashing out at door staff who tried to intervene.

The woman was rushed to hospital for a facial fracture and bleed on her brain.

She was already blind in her left eye but the attack has also left her partially sighted in her right eye.

Toni Patterson was jailed for eight years, while sister Ellie sentenced to seven years and three months in a Young Offenders Institute.

Abbie received a suspended sentence, while Stott was jailed for one year.

Investigating officer, Police Staff Investigator Paul Thompson, of Scarborough CID, said: “This shocking and unprovoked attack has changed the victim’s life forever, not only has she lost most of her sight, she has to rely on her family to do the most simplest of tasks.

“The four defendants had the audacity to claim it was out of character because they were drunk. There is simply no excuse whatsoever for what they did and the very least they could do was to plead guilty to this disgusting act of unprovoked violence.

“In a statement read out at court the victim said that she daily grieves for the ‘old me’ that she will never see again and that she doesn’t know what the future holds for her and misses being able to do the basic things she once took for granted.

“I applaud her bravery. She must now face the future almost blind, not to mention the psychological trauma she has endured through no fault of her own.

“But she has the support of those around her and I’m sure she will succeed, despite the ordeal that she has gone through.

“The four women are now rightly facing the consequences of their behaviour.”

Annie Kilner spotted in backseat of estranged husband Kyle Walker’s car after fresh twist in pair’s troubled marriage

KYLE Walker’s estranged wife Annie Kilner has been spotted in the backseat of his car.

It comes after Annie, 31, who shares four sons with the AC Milan player, 34, hinted at a fresh twist in the pair’s troubled marriage.

Walker joined AC Milan on loan in the January transfer window[/caption]

Walker, who is on loan at AC Milan from Manchester City, looked in good spirits on his return to Cheshire.

Casually clad for the outing, Kyle donned a plain white T-shirt with jeans and a black Celine baseball cap.

He was seen smiling and giving a thumbs up as he walked around the front of his car with Annie in tow.

Kyle has been dividing his time between Italy and the UK after his transfer move, heading home regularly to see his wife and their four children.

England right-back Walker, was seen partying with two women last month.

The 34-year-old took them to Tocqueville 13 in Milan, one of the city’s most popular nightclubs.

The former Prem ace enjoyed a £5,300 Super VIP extravagance with the pair at the star-studded establishment.

Sources at the nightclub say the group partied into the early hours.

It all happened just one day after his wife, Annie Kilner, and their children flew back to the UK.

However, that was before we revealed a significant thawing in relations between Annie and Kyle with the couple said to be “working through their issues.”

A source said: “Annie was far from happy and made her feelings clear. Kyle denies anything went on and says he was asked to give the girls a lift.

“He’s clearly put himself in a difficult situation given his reputation.

“It’s the lack of thought for Annie and how it might look that has caused the upset.”

But while Annie was said to be upset about the encounter, she hinted that she had patched things up with Kyle on the weekend.

Annie used her married name for the first time professionally on Saturday, despite her marital woes.

The model, 31, referred to herself as Annie Walker to plug her jewellery range.

Taking to her Stories Annie modelled a dazzling diamond bracelet with a caption which read: “Demure. Founded by Annie Walker & Sophie Haynes”.

Lauryn Goodman who went to court in a fight for cash with Walker – has hit out at him on social media following his night out in Milan.

Commenting on an Instagram post, she wrote: “But the judge said he’s honest and reliable…”

Lauryn was understood to be preparing to move abroad to Italy in recent weeks to be closer to the father of her children.

But for now she is staying in England.

Meanwhile, Annie and her footballer husband have called off their divorce.

They still regularly see each other, although Annie does not tend to wear her wedding ring.
