Arsenal, Liverpool and Aston Villa are set to learn their opponents for the last-16 knockout stage of the Champions League in today’s draw.
The draw for the next round of the competition takes place this morning in Nyon, Switzerland with three Premier League sides left standing after Manchester City’s sorry exit this week.
Celtic’s European campaign is also over for another year after their heartbreaking defeat to Bayern Munich.
Liverpool won seven games on the spin to finish the initial group phase of the competition as league winners with their only blemish coming in the final game week with top spot already secured.
The Gunners also eased through with six wins from eight, joining Barcelona, Inter, Atletico Madrid, Bayer Leverkusen and Lille in securing automatic qualification.
They are joined by the eight winners of the knockout play-offs in Bayern Munich, Benfica, Club Brugge, Feyenoord, PSG, PSV, Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund.
