A popular chocolate brand has recalled some of its Easter egg products over fears they could contain fragments of metal.

Tony’s Chocolonely is recalling batches of its milk chocolate and caramel sea salt Hollow Easter Eggs with a best before date of June 2025.

The products concerned have the specific codes 8720701144163 and 8720701144187.

The brand said the rest of its Easter range is safe to eat.

A spokesperson for Tony’s Chocolonely said: ‘If you have purchased the above products with the affected lot codes, please do not consume and instead return the product to the store of purchase for a refund.

‘The rest of the Easter range, including all its small eggs and other products are safe to consume.’

The recall comes only two days after two of its Everything Bar flavours had to be recalled, over the risk of the snack containing ‘small stones’.

Anyone who has bought affected batches of the Dark Almond Sea Salt and Everything Bar has been urged to return them to supermarkets to get a full refund.

A food recall is when potential contamination is identified in a product.

The affected product or products are then withdrawn from shelves and recalled from customers when there is a possible risk to consumer health.
