An urgent search has been launched for a missing man from east London after he was last seen weeks ago.

Concerned friends and family are looking for missing Tony.

He was last seen on Monday, March 10, in Lower Clapton, Hackney, a missing person poster says.

Tony is described as a middle-aged Black man, who is bald and often wears a cap and watermelon-patterned or Palestine solidarity clothing.

He usually rides a Brompton bike and he is involved organising the Great Ride Return bike rides and is a ‘passionate cyclist,’ friends and family said in a statement.

A friend said: ‘Tony, if you’re reading this, we want you to know how loved and missed you are – you’ve got the whole of East London out on the streets looking for you!

‘We just want to know that you’re safe.’

His friends and family, who have formed a group called Find Tony Team, said the last known contact with him was around February 14.

‘He had recently undergone knee surgery, which has further heightened concerns for his welfare,’ they said.

The police confirmed to Metro that Tony was reported missing on Wednesday, March 26 and it remains an active missing person investigation.

Anyone with information should contact 101 or 999 in case of an emergency and to quote CAD number 2255/26MAR.
