‘DA are arrogant and have no respect’ – Fikile Mbalula

African National Congress (ANC) Secretary General Fikile Mbalula has slammed the Democratic Alliance (DA) for voting against the approval of the 2025 National Budget.

Earlier in the week, the government, led by the ANC, passed the 2025 National Budget without the DA’s support. The approved budget could see the DA stepping out of the Government of National Unity (GNU).

Mbalula called the DA “arrogant” for refusing to vote with the ANC and other political parties.

“The arrogance of the DA needs to be taken on. They are arrogant, and that’s all I can say. They are arrogant and have no respect,” the ANC leader said on Friday as per IOL.

“All that matters to them is winning. This is not a time for winning because we all didn’t win in the elections.”

Mbalula said DA can ‘walk’ out of the GNU if they want to

The DA are yet to make a decision on whether they will remain within the GNU or not.

“The ball is in the DA’s court,” Mbalula said. They’ve chosen their path, and they must analyse and decide on the implications,” Mbalula said.

“If you say you don’t want a budget at all costs, you walk, and nobody said you must walk. It cannot be our burden. They’ve decided.”

Should the DA stay or leave the GNU?
