Deadly shooting investigation underway in Burke County

UPDATE, 02/25/2025, 2:17 P.M. – According to the inmate inquiry for Burke County Detention Center, Hannah Grace Cobb, who contacted law enforcement after Osborne was shot in the chest on Sunday, has been arrested and booked into the detention center on Tuesday and charged with Felony Involuntary Manslaughter.

According to a previous release by Burke County Sheriff’s Office, before charges were filed against her, Cobb had been cooperating with the investigation.

Burke County Sheriff Alfonzo Williams held a press conference on Tuesday, and he states that according to investigators, both Cobb and Osborne had been drinking; however, Cobb was not cleaning a gun.

According to Sheriff Williams, there was an altercation between Cobb and the victim, and this was not accidental; however, there is no reason yet for the shooting other than they had an altercation. 

Sheriff Williams states that investigators are gathering search warrants, and Cobb could face more charges.


BURKE COUNTY, Ga. (WJBF) – The Burke County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting death. 

After receiving a report of a shooting at approximately 5:45 am, Sunday, February 23rd, deputies responded to the 800 block of Four Points Road in Hephzibah.

Upon arrival, investigators discovered 30-year-old Telvin Osborne in the master bedroom with a single gunshot wound to the chest.  He was pronounced dead at the hospital. 

Deputies made contact with the complainant, Hannah Cobb, who is cooperating with the investigation.

Out of respect for the victim’s family, details of this incident were withheld until the family had been properly notified.

The BCSO Criminal Investigation Division (CID) is working diligently to gather all facts.
