A Bridget Jones child actor made Dermot O’Leary laugh after pointing out a flaw in his question.
Casper Knopf and Mila Jankovic played Bridget and Mr Darcy’s kids Billy and Mabel in the franchise’s fourth film, Mad About the Boy, and appeared on This Morning to discuss their starring roles.
At one point, Dermot, 51, wanted to know if Mila’s dream had always been to be on screen.
‘Have you always loved acting since you were tiny?’ he asked Mila.
It turns out that like her fictional mother, Mila has a knack for coming up with good comebacks. Without missing a breath, Mila, eight, informed Dermot: ‘I didn’t really know what acting was when I was tiny.’
Both Mila and Dermot began to giggle at her smart answer in the light-hearted exchange, leading to him admitting it was a ‘good point’.

The duo enjoyed their time on the blue sofa with Dermot and Alison Hammond.
During the chat, they gave plenty of behind-the-scenes details about making the movie and it turns out Renée Zellweger, 55, is just as lovely as she seems with Mila declaring: ‘She’s the best person you can ever work with.’
The legendary actor even provided gifts for the young stars. Mila was proudly wearing a love heart necklace worn by Bridget in the film that Renée passed on. Casper, 12, wasn’t left out and was given toy cars and a Millennium Falcon model from Star Wars.

They also gave Hugh Grant plenty of praise calling him ‘professional’ and saying that they got to learn a lot just from witnessing his acting.
Being movie stars may have gotten them gifts and priceless time with huge A-Listers but it didn’t get them out of school – they each had to tick off 16 hours of tutoring per week.
Luckily they were fueled by the craft service, with Mila taking a liking to sea bass and requesting it every day. Meanwhile, Casper favoured chicken nuggets and chips.

Being part of Bridget Jones was exciting for them both, but due to their young ages, they were not even born when the first films came out in 2001 and 2004.
‘Most of my friends don’t know what Bridget Jones is because we weren’t born,’ stated Casper, making us feel extra old.
Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy came out in UK cinemas on February 13 and has been met with much praise in the opening weekend.
The film finds Bridget in a very different place in her life, matured into a mother but unexpectedly alone again after the tragic offscreen death of husband Mark Darcy (Colin Firth). Four years after his death, Bridget decides it’s time to live again and returns to the workforce and dating. Expect to laugh and cry if you’re planning a trip soon!
This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV and ITVX.
