Did Ellen DeGeneres upload an apology Video on TikTok? Read On To Know The Story

Did Ellen DeGeneres upload an apology video on TikTok? Several X users have claimed that Ellen made an apology. For the unversed, there were allegations some time back that the content creator had created a toxic work environment on her show, The Ellen DeGeneres Show. How much truth is there in these claims? Read on to know more about this story.

Did Ellen DeGeneres Post an Apology Video?

The video seems genuine. However, the truth is that the former TV host has not tendered any apology or posted an apology video on the TikTok platform.

The genesis of this rumor can be traced to a user on X named @AmericaPapaBear, who first shared the TikTok video that was uploaded by @honestreviews057 on the social media platform.

In the video, which was titled Ellen’s Apology, the TV host was saying that she was sad and angry in equal measure. She went on to say that she knew she was not going to say the correct thing, and many people might disagree with what she said. She added that she had always stood for equality and that she had a platform and a voice to ensure this.

Ellen further stated:

“I’m just so sorry that it’s come to this. I really don’t know what to say other than this has gone on way, way, way too long. People have gotten away with murder. That’s what’s happening. We’ve got to see fairness and justice for all because right now, this is not a fair world, not at all.”

The tweet has already raked in 8 million views and counting. At first glance, it seems that Ellen is reacting and apologizing after the recent allegations. However, delving deeper, it became clear that it is an old video in which the TV host is expressing her anguish after George Floyd’s death in 2020. This video originally featured on her X account.

There were other glaring discrepancies in the story. Firstly, Ellen DeGeneres’s TikTok account is not ‘@honestreviews057’ but ‘@ellendegeneres.’ Also, X Community Notes have made it clear that the shared video was posted and later deleted by DeGeneres after George Floyd’s death. X’s Community Notes also stated that the title Ellen’s Apology was added later and did not feature in the original video.
