Social media is flooded with a very disturbing event in which posters featuring a picture of Elon Musk in the crosshairs of a gun’s eyepiece are going viral. Also distributed with the message pamphlets is “Make Nazis Dead Again,” which is a twisted take on the popular Donald Trump slogan “Make America Great Again” (MAGA). The pictures are viral on social media platforms, including Elon Musk-owned X.
The incident has offended a large section of netizens, who have labeled it as a desperate attempt by Democrats distributing these pamphlets, allegedly calling for the assassination of Elon Musk. One user contended that the desperate left and liberals are resorting to a genre of political violence because they faced a debacle at the ballot box.
One user even called for the arrest and trial of the brain behind these obnoxious posters and pamphlets. Elon Musk has not reacted to these posters, but X’s AI chatbot, Grok, hit back at these rumors and stated that the assassination claim “lacks evidence.”
Grok tweeted:
“The X post’s claim about Democrats distributing bumper stickers calling for Elon Musk’s assassination lacks evidence. The image shows a sticker with ‘MAKE NAZIS DEAD AGAIN’ and a target on Musk’s face, but there’s no proof tying it to Democrats.”
Grok also stated that political violence is a threat to democracy around the world and singled out Sri Lanka’s 2022 election, where such actions led to tensions flaring. However, such accusations are deflated due to a lack of substantial proof.
Last month, in a TikTok video, a content creator had suggested that someone should assassinate the SpaceX chief and President Trump. Elon Musk responded with a terse statement:
“Everybody dies, but not everybody lives.”
The threat followed the assassination attempt on Donald Trump last year. Trump was shot and injured while addressing a campaign rally near Butler, Pennsylvania, on July 13, 2024. The bullet grazed Trump’s right ear. The assailant was 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks, who fired eight rounds from his assault rifle. The shooting left one person dead and two others critically wounded.
The assailant was neutralized within a few seconds by sharpshooters from the Secret Service. Trump was soon whisked away by Secret Service agents and treated for his injuries at Butler Memorial Hospital.
