Eamonn Holmes’ former GB New co-host who he referred to as his ‘TV wife’ has shared a message of celebration in honour of Ruth Langsford on social media.
On Monday this week, Ruth celebrated her 64th birthday, with the presenter receiving a plethora of birthday wishes from fans and fans to mark the occasion.
The Loose Women panelist shared a variety of the messages on her own Instagram Story, including from Lizzie Cundy, while other people left comments on her latest Instagram post wishing her many happy returns.
One person who also wished Ruth a happy birthday was Isabel Webster, who up until December last year, presented a GB News programme with Eamonn, 65.
Eamonn and Isabel, 42, forged such a close bond as colleagues that they were even referred to as ‘TV husband and wife’ before it was announced that he and Ruth were ending their marriage.
To mark Ruth’s birthday, Isabel posted a picture of them together on her Instagram Story, wishing her a happy birthday in a show of support.
The photo was taken on the day that they both went to Royal Ascot with Eamonn in 2022.
Isabel first joined GB News in 2021, after leaving her position at Sky News to join the newly-launched channel.
She and Eamonn co-hosted GB News Breakfast with Eamonn Holmes and Isabel Webster together for over three years.
However, in 2024 it was announced in shock news that Isabel had been dropped from the channel and replaced by Ellie Costello.
In response to the news, Eamonn simply wrote on X: ‘By my girl x.’
Then in January, he celebrated the arrival of Ellie, 31, as his new co-anchor on the breakfast show.
‘A New Year, a new day and a new Breakfast line up on @GBNews. It’s now Eamonn and @EllieCostellotv from 6 to 9.30,’ he wrote in his caption.
‘It’s fresh, bright, different and I hope we have your company on TV, online, on your smartphone, on your radio and by asking your smart device to play GB News 👍 Please join us and say Hello 👋 🙋♂️.’
In a comment underneath the post, he also added: ‘Hi everyone. Changing programme presenters is a difficult thing but thank you for all your support re the new format 👍.’
In May last year, Ruth and Eamonn announced that they had decided to split after 14 years of marriage.
In a statement, a representative said: ‘Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes have confirmed their marriage is over and they are in the process of divorcing.’
Eamonn has since embarked on a new relationship with his girlfriend Katie Alexander, recently celebrating her 43rd birthday with a night out in London’s West End.
