Pep Guardiola has revealed that Erling Haaland remains a doubt for Manchester City’s Premier League match against Liverpool on Sunday.

When asked about Haaland’s availability, Guardiola replied: ‘I don’t know yet.

‘Tomorrow will know it, I don’t know yet.’

Asked if he is hopeful that Haaland will be able to play, Guardiola replied: ‘Yeah, maybe but I don’t know yet. We train today, until tomorrow he will test but I don’t know.

‘It is better to have Erling on the pitch than not have him, obviously. But with Erling we are in the position that we are right now.

‘Everybody is responsible for good and bad things in the team. But of course, with Erling we are stronger.’

Guardiola also revealed that John Stones could potentially undergo surgery after he was forced off in the 3-1 defeat to Real Madrid.
