A former BBC Radio 1 star showed off a new look to his followers on Instagram over the weekend, drawing comparisons to George Clooney from those who were fans of the transformation.
Chris Moyles, 50, posted a selfie on Instagram, showing off his neatly trimmed grey beard and moustache, while wearing a grey beanie and black-framed glasses.
‘So I grew a beard. Should I keep it?’ he wrote in the caption.
The star DJ, who presented the breakfast show from 2004 until 2012 at Radio 1 and now works for Radio X, was met with compliments from his 420,000 followers.
‘Thought I was following George Clooney on insta for a moment…,’ commented sports presenter Jake Humphrey, while TV icon Anthea Turner responded: ‘Not normally a beard loving girl but it’s a really good one and beautifully groomed. A keeper from me 👍’
When a fan chimed in to agree with Jake’s compliment, Chris replied: ‘The camera never lies Jake..!’

Hollywood star Clooney has been one of the world’s most famous silver foxes since starting to go grey aged 33.
The now 63-year-old Oscar-winner has also rocked a beard on and off over the years, including for post-apocalyptic Netflix film The Midnight Sky in 2020 and at the tail end of 2023.
‘Been telling you for ages to join us. The Bearded Broadcasters Club 🤣,’ added DJ MistaJam of Chris’s recent facial addition.
‘Looking majestic like the master in the old Dr Who,’ suggested BBC presenter Mike Bushell, while others namechecked ‘Father Chrismoyles’ and Captain Birdseye.
‘It really suits you. Keep it!!’ enthused fan @swearyberry81, while Vicki Taylor added: ‘YES. Keep it. I love it ! 😍’

‘We all just wanna know what Tiff thinks! (I likes it!)’ wrote DJ Tony Perry, referencing Chris’s longtime partner, talent manager Tiffany Austin.
However, not everyone was as enamoured with the new beard, as Gemma De Rosa complained: ‘I don’t care either way but for the love of God can you please stop talking about it. I am a huge fan but it’s getting very boring, every morning 6.30am without fail you mention the beard.’
Chris, who finished sixth in the 2022 series of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!, currently hosts The Chris Moyles Show on Radio X from 6:30am weekdays and 8am to 10am on Saturdays.
He previously broke Tony Blackburn’s record and became the longest-serving breakfast presenter on Radio 1 in September 2009, three years before he left.
