EX-ORLANDO PIRATES STAR THEMBINKOSI LORCH REVEALS HIS SIDE HUSTLE

Lorch, who is enjoying his stay with Moroccan giants Wydad Casablanca, took to Instagram to share a clip of his truck, which was ‘getting ready for another hectic week.’

Rick Ross’s smash hit ‘Hustling’ played in the background as the truck was being washed. Since it was posted online, the clip has gained thousands of comments and reactions.

Fans quickly praised his side hustle, while many were convinced he was earning thousands from the lucrative trucking business.

Last year in June, Lorch made headlines when he bought his truck. With his purchase, he joined a host of South African footballers who have splurged thousands, if not millions, on trucks.

A few months after Lorch’s purchase, former Mamelodi Sundowns star Siyanda Xulu topped trends after photos posing next to his new MAN truck flooded online.

Against the viral photos, the publication noted that the former Sundowns star is making a killing in the transport industry.

Surprisingly, former Sundowns star Rheece Evans is also in transport and logistics just like Thembinkosi Lorch.

He co-owns Trans Modal Freight with his brother. The company has been winning big in recent years and confirmed reports have it that they secured a multimillion contract with Sasol.

CAREER

With an illustrious career spanning years, Thembinkosi Lorch has earned a fortune from his big contracts with some of the country’s biggest clubs.

Thembinkosi Lorch started his career with Katlehong Young Stars. He made his senior debut with Maluti FET College FC in 2013.

While at Maluti FET College FC, he received a call from Screamer Tshabalala, who informed him of Orlando Pirates’ interests.

In 2015, Thembinkosi Lorch joined the Orlando Pirates. However, he was loaned out during his first two seasons.

He played for Cape Town All Stars and Chippa United during the 2015/2016 and 2016/2017 seasons before returning to the Orlando Pirates.

Since then, he has been winning big. The 2018/2019 season was arguably Thembinkosi Lorch’s best season. In 2024, he left Orlando Pirates for Mamelodi Sundowns.

Barely a year after joining Sundowns, Lorch was loaned to Wydad. Little is known about his future after his loan deal.
