Government Decides to Expand Federal Cabinet

The government has decided to expand the federal cabinet. According to sources, new ministers will take their oath tomorrow at 4 PM in the President’s House.

The final decision on the number of new ministers will be made by the Prime Minister.

The new federal ministers and ministers of state will be sworn in, with the Prime Minister and service chiefs attending the ceremony.

Sources indicate that around 10 new ministers are likely to join the cabinet.

Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan’s (MQM-P) Mustafa Kamal is among the names considered for ministries, sources claimed.

Others expected to join the cabinet include Hanif Abbasi and Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry from the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Khalid Magsi from the Balochistan Awami Party (BAP).

Sources indicate that Abbasi may be appointed as the Minister for Railways, while Dr. Chaudhry is expected to lead the Ministry of National Health Services.

Magsi is likely to be assigned to the Ministry of Communications, whereas Kamal is anticipated to take charge of the Ministry of Science and Technology.

The oath-taking ceremony for the new cabinet members is scheduled for 27 February, according to reports.

At present, Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui holds the Ministry of Science and Technology alongside the Ministry of Federal Education. However, sources confirm that while Kamal may assume the role in science and technology, Siddiqui will continue as the Minister for Federal Education.
