Here’s the ultimate guide to spending St. Paddy’s Day in Exeter

St. Patrick’s Day falls on a Monday this year, but that’s no excuse not to celebrate. Whether you’re able to split the G like a seasoned pro or you think Jameson is just a guy from your seminar, it’s time to paint the town green!

St. Paddy’s in Exeter isn’t just a day – it’s a week-long celebration with lots of questionable decisions, excessive Guinness consumption and at least one student accidentally showing up to their 8:30AM lecture covered in bright green Batty Bingo pen from the night before. So, whether you’re actually Irish or just want an excuse to start drinking before noon, here’s our ultimate guide to making the most of your St. Patrick’s Day in Exeter.

St Paddy’s Sunday at TP

Can’t go out on Monday night? Luckily, TP is kicking off the party early with a special Sunday celebration 16th March. Start practising your Irish jig – there’ll be a live Irish folk band as well as enough Guinness to convince you that you’re actually Irish. Get a green Venom in your hand and celebrate.

St. Patrick’s Day Quiz at The Ram

Prefer to keep the brain juices flowing? The Ram is holding a St. Paddy’s themed quiz this Sunday with £60 up for grabs (that’s a whopping 6 Venoms as well as your TP entry). So, round up your smartest (or luckiest) friends to get the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow… or the bar.

TP St. Patrick’s Day Special

If Sunday wasn’t enough, TP is open again on Monday. If you have any classes on Tuesday, you may want to accept your fate now. If you were lucky enough on Sunday, maybe you will have enough TP cups to get a free Guinness to carry on the Irish celebrations.

Logic St. Paddy’s Day Party at Fever

Spoilt for choice? Fever is throwing a Logic St. Patrick’s Day Party featuring house, DNB, garage and disco music. Whether you’re there for the music or because you couldn’t get a TP ticket, it’s set to be a big one.

The Stand Off Irish Bar

If you want a proper St. Patrick’s Day atmosphere, get yourself to The Stand Off this Monday. Expect live music from Preseli Pete and the Bluestone Boys, discounted Irish food and drinks, and the best pint of Guinness in Exeter.

Spoons

If the idea of paying over £5 for a pint physically pains you, get yourself to the nearest spoons on Monday for a £3.15 pint of Guinness. Down from the usual £3.60, it’s a sign from the universe for everyone to give it a go. Even if you don’t like Guinness, you got to get into the Irish spirit.

Batty Bingo: St. Patrick’s Special

Do you have the luck of the Irish? Find out this Tuesday at Batty Bingo. There will be Guinness on tap, unhinged bingo prizes and typical Peggy Sue antics. Don’t forget to Irish exit just in time for your TP Salsa Tuesday entry. Also, remember to not get too carried away with drawing on each other…the green ink won’t leave for days.
