The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has confirmed the SASSA childcare grant payment date for April. SASSA pays social grants to elderly people, childcare grant ( for children under 18), disabled people and the war veterans’ grant. Here’s a breakdown of the payment dates for each beneficiary.
SASSA CHILDCARE GRANT PAYMENT DATE FOR APRIL
The SASSA childcare grant for April will be on Saturday, 5 April 2025. Here are other payment dates for other grants:
- Old age grant- Thursday, 4 March 2025
- Disability grant- Friday, 5 March 2025
ANOTHER SASSA OFFICIAL HANDS HERSELF TO THE POLICE OVER FRAUD CHARGES
A SASSA local office official turned herself to the police on Sunday, 23 March 2025 over alleged fraud charges. The social security agency confirmed that she turned herself in at the Kliptown Police Station, with her lawyer accompanying her.
The suspect is the eighth SASSA official to be facing numerous charges of fraud, while the other three suspects are non-SASSA officials.
SASSA National Spokesperson Paseka Letsatsi stated that they will not stop working with law enforcement agencies.
“As SASSA, we will continue to work with the law enforcement agencies and provide them with all the necessary information at our disposal that they need to ensure successful prosecution of all those involved,” said SASSA National Spokesperson Paseka Letsatsi.
Meanwhile, the bail application for the seven other accused SASSA officials has been postponed to Tuesday, 1 April 2025. The accused made their appearance at the Lenasia Magistrate’s Court on over 1000 fraud-related charges.

GOOD NEWS FOR SASSA BENEFICIARIES IN NORTHWEST
Postbank will be issuing the new Postbank black card at Potchefstroom Post Office, 35 OR Tambo Street from 26-28 March 2025. When collecting your Postbank black card, bring your I.D. along with you. When collecting for someone else, bring an official SASSA proxy letter.
