Coronation Street’s Roy Cropper (David Neilson) places himself in danger to try and help Cassie Plummer (Claire Sweeney) next week, a new spoiler video has revealed.

Cassie has found herself with no money and nowhere to live after it emerged she had been drugging her friend Ken Barlow (William Roache) last month.

As a result, she has started sleeping rough and was tempted back into the world of drugs after Ken’s daughter Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford) sought revenge by offering the former addict some illegal substances.

Next week, Cassie is looking for another fix and arranges to meet a local dealer at the precinct.

However, as our spoiler video from Monday’s episode reveals how Roy catches her red-handed in the middle of their deal.

He encourages her to come with him, keen not to see her relapse, but the dealer is spooked when he threatens to call the police.

As he makes a run for his, Cassie gives chase, wanting back the money she’d given him.

But he pushes Cassie to the ground and she hits her head, leaving her crying in pain as Roy comforts her.

While Cassie is seemingly at rock bottom, she is given some hope as her mum Evelyn Plummer (Maureen Lipman) intervenes later this week.

Paying a return visit to the cobbles for her birthday after leaving the area to join a law course, she sees how desperate the situation has become and vows to be there for her daughter.

As Evelyn prepares to make a huge sacrifice, will she be able to help Cassie turn her life around again?

Coronation Street airs these scenes on Monday at 8pm on ITV1 or stream first from 7am on ITVX.
