After weeks of seeing dishevelled pictures of Justin Bieber on just about every social media platform, the man himself has responded to allegations of drug use by branding them “exhausting and pitiful.”
Justin has had a tough few months. Amid his ex-girlfriend Selena Gomez getting engaged and rumours of his own relationship unravelling, Justin has been grappling with the continued fallout from Diddy’s legal battle.
At the same time, paparazzi pictures shared on TikTok and Twitter showed Justin looking worlds away from the bright-eyed singer we are used to. This sparked allegations of drug use, something Justin has now denied.

Speaking to Rolling Stone, Justin and Hailey Bieber’s shared representatives said that the public’s obsession with his mental and physical health is “exhausting and pitiful and shows that despite the obvious truth, people are committed to keeping negative, salacious, harmful narratives alive.”
Despite the concerning pictures, the worst of which were taken in New York, the rep said that he is committed to his family and future music ventures. According to them, this last year has been “very transformative for him as he ended several close friendships and business relationships that no longer served him.”

Justin has been very candid about his experiences with drugs in the past, telling GQ in 2021 that he thought becoming successful would solve his mental health issues.
“There was a sense of still yearning for more,” he said. “It was like I had all this success, and it was still like: ‘I’m still sad, and I’m still in pain. And I still have these unresolved issues,’ and I thought all the success was going to make everything good. And so, for me, the drugs were a numbing agent to just continue to get through.”
According to TMZ, Justin has been sober from drugs – including prescription meds – since 2014 but he still drinks socially.
