Kaizer Chiefs FC’s management are working around the clock to restore the glory days at Naturena.
The Glamour Boys are desperate to start competing with rivals Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates, after falling well short this season once again.
In a bid to give Nabi a squad capable of competing for league honours, management are eyeing a solid midfield new arrival ahead of next season.
Kaizer Chiefs reignite interest in Bafana Bafana star
According to local publication Soccer Laduma, Kaizer Chiefs are keen on signing Portuguese based Bafana Bafana midfielder Yaya Sithole.
The 26-year-old who’s currently on the books of Gil Vincente will be a worthy addition to Nabi’s squad.
Sithole, with his incredible physicality and vision, will complement the likes of Thabo Cele, Yusuf Maart and Njabulo Blom in the middle of the park.
Chiefs eye Malian goalkeeper
According to the latest transfer gossip, Kaizer Chiefs are considering signing a Malian international to boost their goalkeeping department.
The Glamour Boys have enquired about the availability of Young Africans goalkeeper Djigui Diarra. He has over 65 caps for his national team and has won six league titles in Mali along with two more in Tanzania.
“We believe that the club is still working on finding the right goalkeeper and that’s why they are still looking at all the different profiles of different goalkeepers,” an insider told Soccer Laduma.
“Yes, Kaizer Chiefs have apparently shown interest in Toaster Nsabata and Xolani Ngcobo but they have not finalised next season’s signings yet and now they have inquired about Djigui (Diarra) from Yanga SC.
“It’s a process from both the scouting department to the technical team and management before they sign. But, yes, they have inquired about that Yanga goalkeeper.”
Djigui Diarra is valued at R6 million by Transfermarkt. It remains to be seen how much Kaizer Chiefs are willing to spend on him.
