Kaizer Chiefs keen to snatch up Orlando Pirates striker target

Kaizer Chiefs are ready to beef up their frontline for next season and they want to do it at the expense of Orlando Pirates.

Chiefs go in for Orlando Pirates target Mbuthuma

According to Soccer-Laduma, Kaizer Chiefs will rival Orlando Pirates for the signature of highly-rated Richards Bay striker Yanela Mbuthuma. The 23-year-old marksman has four goals and an assist from 18 appearances in the league this term.

“Chiefs are also interested in that Richards Bay striker that Pirates have enquired about before, Yanela Mbuthuma. For now, it’s just interest from the team. I am not sure if there is anything official yet from Chiefs to talk to Richards Bay. But what I can tell you is that Chiefs are interested in him,” said one source to the same publication.

“Yes, it’s true Richards Bay still need Yanela (Mbuthuma) mainly for next season. But you know that football is business these days so if the money is good then they may consider it. And it’s also true there has been interest in him (from Chiefs and Pirates) but I don’t know if there is any team that has officially presented an offer so far,” said a second source.

Chiefs target Mabuya in problem right-back position

According to Soccer-Laduma, Amakhosi are preparing an offer for Richards Bay right-back Lwandile Mabuya. Currently, Chiefs have Reeve Frosler and Dillan Solomons as their current options for that position. However, loanee Njabulo Blom has often been preferred there despite the former St Louis City player being a midfielder.
