Kaizer Chiefs: Nasreddine Nabi to be poached by African powerhouse?

Life is finally flourishing for Kaizer Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi.

After a tumultuous period, dropping to the bottom half of the table, results have begun to blossom, most recently against Stellenbosch FC and Sekhukhune United.

The AmaKhosi faithful are backing Nabi, one of Africa’s most in-demand coaches.

According to reports, Tunisia has shortlisted the 59-year-old, and it’s easy to assume that leading his home nation has long been a career ambition—Nabi has yet to comment.

Nabi interest

“A new report now claims that Kaizer Chiefs boss Nasreddine Nabi is among the candidates for the managerial role at a top African nation,” KickOff reported.

“According to reports in Tunisia, Nabi is being considered for the men’s national team job. But despite having been in Naturena for just over six months, Tunisia are said to be weighing up the possibility of hiring Nabi,

“According to WinWin.com, the Tunisian Football Federation has allocated an estimated salary of $9,000 (R166 000) per month for their next national team manager. Nabi has been included in that shortlist of alternative candidates, alongside free agent Sami Trabelsi, Stade Tunisien mentor Maher Kanzari, and Al-Khor SC boss Mehdi Nafti.”

Kaizer Chiefs eyeing AmaZulu star

Kaizer Chiefs are reportedly ready to try again for uSuthu playmaker Rowan Human:

“The team [Kaizer Chiefs] is already planning for next season and apart from the striker they are looking for, they are also looking at bolstering the midfield and they are reconsidering Rowan [Human] from AmaZulu,” said SoccerLaduma.

“You know the scouts looks at players who would fit in the team’s system and they are believed to have identified Human as one target for the midfield position for next season.”

An additional source confirmed Kaizer Chiefs’ keeness, saying, “It’s true they had inquired about him just before he left Maritzburg United to join AmaZulu FC but things didn’t work at that time,

“Now they are back on the radar for his services and it will all depend on what happens at the end of the season but for now both the technical team and scouts are apparently happy with what they have seen in Human and they want him.”
