Kevin Webster’s (Michael Le Vell) world was turned upside down in recent Coronation Street scenes when he was diagnosed with testicular cancer.
The mechanic reeled as doctors explained that he would have to have an operation to remove his testicle in order to test what sort of cancer he had.
In upcoming scenes, Debbie Webster (Sue Devaney) arrives to take Kevin to the hospital ahead of the surgery.
As Abi Webster (Sally Carman) wishes him luck for the operation, she tries to hide her annoyance at Jack Webster (Kyron Bowes) for his failure to show up and support his dad.
With Kevin under the knife, the family wait for news, but it’s a tough situation for traumatised Abi, who finds the hospital environment triggering.
When Kevin wakes up, he is disappointed to find that Abi isn’t there, unaware that she is having a crisis of her own.

As Kevin recovers from the op, Debbie tells him that she’s going to pay for Abi to see a therapist.
With Abi facing her first therapy session, Kevin insists he is going to discharge himself from hospital to be with her, but Tim and Sally Metcalfe (Joe Duttine and Sally Dynevor) manage to talk him out of it.
It appears that Abi is in good hands anyway, as she ends up bumping into a familiar face…
Following her session, she tells Kevin that her therapy went well, and promises to turn her attention to looking after him.
