South Korean actor Kim Soo-hyun has vehemently denied resurfaced allegations linking him romantically to the late actress Kim Sae-ron.
The controversy began when a far-right YouTube channel, HoverLab Inc., released a video accusing Soo-hyun of engaging in a secret relationship with Sae-ron that allegedly started when she was 15 and he was 27.
The video featured what the channel described as testimony from Sae-ron’s family and a photo purportedly showing Soo-hyun kissing Sae-ron on the cheek. Soo-hyun’s agency, Gold Medalist, swiftly responded to the claims, calling them “clearly false and baseless.”
The company vowed to pursue the “strongest possible legal actions” against HoverLab for spreading misinformation and damaging both Soo-hyun’s reputation and the dignity of the deceased.

Social media platforms were flooded with backlash after the video’s release, with users expressing concern over the age disparity and the nature of the alleged relationship. Despite the backlash, the Gold Medalist reiterated that all claims were categorically untrue.
HoverLab added fuel to the fire by releasing a follow-up video introducing additional claims regarding financial dealings between Soo-hyun and Sae-ron. According to the channel, Sae-ron had borrowed money to repay compensation for her 2022 drunk driving incident, an amount allegedly covered initially by Gold Medalist and later pursued through legal means.
The channel shared what it claimed was a desperate text message from Sae-ron to Soo-hyun, pleading for more time to repay her debt, suggesting the message went unanswered. HoverLab also teased the release of further allegations in upcoming broadcasts.

We would like to provide an official statement regarding the recent claims made by YouTube channel HoverLab Inc. concerning our actor Kim Soo Hyun.
The claims made by HoverLab Inc. in their YouTube broadcast about Kim Soo Hyun are clearly false and baseless.
In their broadcast, HoverLab Inc. alleged that our company and Kim Soo Hyun colluded with YouTuber Lee Jin Ho to harass the late actress Kim Sae Ron. They further claimed that Kim Soo Hyun and the late Kim Sae Ron were in a romantic relationship starting when she was 15 years old, that our company acted improperly in handling the aftermath of Kim Sae Ron’s DUI incident, and that a manager from our company has a close relationship with YouTuber Lee Jin Ho. These malicious claims directed at our company and actor Kim Soo Hyun are entirely false and cannot be tolerated under any circumstances. We are currently reviewing the strongest possible legal actions against HoverLab Inc. for spreading these falsehoods.
Our company is deeply saddened by the passing of the late Kim Sae Ron, who was once part of our agency, and we mourn her loss. However, the dissemination of such false information by HoverLab Inc. mirrors the very behavior of so-called “cyber wreckers” that caused the late actress so much pain during her lifetime. Their actions, driven solely by self-interest, not only damage our company but also tarnish the honor of the deceased, and thus we will respond to this matter with the utmost seriousness.
