The rock band Flogging Molly have been forced to cancel all of their 2025 gigs as their lead vocalist suffers from a ‘serious health condition’.
The band, best known for their hit songs If I Ever Leave This World Alive, Drunken Lullabies, and Devi’s Dance Floor, revealed on social media that their lead singer’s health had deteriorated.
The statement didn’t reveal the lead singer Dave King’s exact health condition and instead asked for ‘prayers’ and ‘privacy’ at this time.
‘To our family, friends and fans,’ began the statement. ‘Our fearless leader, the inimitable Dave King, is currently battling a very serious health condition.
‘Dave and Bridget ask everyone to respect their privacy at this time, we will share as we can. Any good thoughts or prayers you can send Dave’s way, he and we would appreciate it.
‘Unfortunately Flogging Molly will be unable to perform shows in 2025.
‘With the Salty Dog Cruise 12 days away, the boat will sail as planned with 18 bands, and members of Flogging Molly, on board to celebrate the cruise, the community and our captain, Dave King. Thank you, Flogging Molly.’

Fans rushed to share their support for the band and for Dublin-born King.
‘Love ❤️ and prayers 🙏 for Dave’s health and recovery , sorry to hear this news and I’ll definitely keep them in our thoughts!!! @floggingmolly,’ said stevecaballero.
‘Sending our love to Dave and the FM family. We love you all and are keeping you in our hearts. ❤️,’ said streetdogsoffiicial.
‘Sending postitive vibes your way Dave! You got this! ❤️,’ said simonmarchner.
‘We wish Dave a speedy recovery and a lot of strength for him and his family during this very difficult time 💚💚💚,’ said thefeelgoodmcclouds.

Flogging Molly was set to tour in Europe and America, with dates in Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and Orlando in their Road To Rebellion Tour which will now have to be rescheduled.
The seven-member band first formed in LA in 1994. Dave King was the founding member of the band and brought the other six members together – including his wife.
King is married to the band’s violin player Bridget Regan. The pair met in 1993 and were some of the original members of the rock band with a Celtic influence.
