
The M23 has closed in Surrey after a crash involving three cars and a lorry.
Drivers heading to Gatwick Airport face severe delays on the M23 after a multi-vehicle crash this morning.
The motorway is closed southbound after the crash between junction J9 (Gatwick) and J10 (Crawley).
All emergency services are at the scene along with traffic officers.
South East Coast Ambulance Service told Metro it remains ‘at the scene assessing patient.’
Heavy congestion is building in the area, with traffic snarling back to the M25.
National Highways said: ‘Surrey Police, Surrey Fire and Rescue Service and South East Coast Ambulance Service are working at the scene of this multi-vehicle collision.
‘National Highways Traffic Officers are also on scene and assisting the emergency services with traffic management.’
Traffic has been trapped within the closure which was first reported shortly after 10am.
Diversions are in place at junction J9 on Gatwick Airport spur road heading towards the airport, an Inrix travel alert shows.
