Molefi Ntseki set for sensational return to SAFA!

Former Kaizer Chiefs coach Molefi Ntseki is set for a sensational return to the South African Football Association (SAFA).

According to a report by SABC Sport, Ntseki is being earmarked for the position of Technical Director at SAFA.

This follows a SAFA Technical Committee meeting which resolved to replace Walter Steenbok with Ntseki.

Steenbok’s future with SAFA has been under the microscope for a while due to some disagreements between the two parties.

Now, Ntseki, having recently stepped in to coach Bafana Bafana for CHAN, could be back in the SAFA setup.

The South African understands that Ntseki had no contract with SAFA to coach Bafana Bafana as he was only asked to assist.

Ntseki is likely to still lead Bafana Bafana when they face Malawi in the two-legged tie which would see the team qualify for the tournament if they win.

He coached Bafana Bafana between 2019 and 2021 where he was booted after the national team’s failure to qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

MOLEFI NTSEKI SET TO RETURN TO SAFA

“SABC Sport has established that the SAFA technical committee this week officially put Molefi Ntseki forward as their preferred choice to take over from Walter Steenbok in the technical director role,” reads part of the report.

“As things stand, the technical committee want him to return to the federation as the technical director with Steenbok not willing to reverse his decision to quit over the alleged lack of support internally.”

IS HE THE PERFECT CANDIDATE?
