Renowned Pakistani model-turned-actress Nadia Hussain has been embroiled in a controversy surrounding her husband’s arrest and an alleged bribe demand. Her husband, Atif Mohammad Khan, a former CEO of Bank Alfalah Securities, was arrested by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) over allegations of embezzling Rs 540 million.
Nadia Hussain took to social media to share a recording of a call in which she claimed someone demanded a bribe in exchange for her husband’s bail. Initially, it was reported that this was part of an impersonation scam, where a scammer posed as an FIA officer to extort money.
However, Nadia Hussain’s public statements seemed to suggest that she believed the demand was from the FIA itself.
The FIA has since clarified that the bribe demand was indeed part of an impersonation scam and not an official request from their agency.
They have assured that they are taking strict legal action against the scammer.
