Naseer Soomro, Pakistan’s 2nd Tallest Man, Passes Away After Prolonged Illness

Naseer Soomro, known as the second tallest man in Pakistan, passed away on Monday at the age of 56 due to complications from a lung infection.

His funeral prayers will be offered in Shikarpur on Tuesday morning.

He stood at an impressive height of 7 feet 9 inches, making him a notable figure both nationally and internationally.

Soomro was originally from Shikarpur, Sindh, and resided in Karachi, where he worked for Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) as a Senior Passenger Handling Services Officer.

Soomro had been dealing with chronic respiratory issues and joint pain for many years, which led to multiple hospitalizations.

Despite his health challenges, he remained a symbol of uniqueness and admiration in Pakistan. In the past, Soomro was the subject of false death rumours, which were debunked by the French news agency AFP in 2019.

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah expressed condolences to Soomro’s family, acknowledging his contributions to bringing international recognition to Pakistan.
