Close to 500,000 pounds of frozen sausage and bacon breakfast sandwiches have been recalled over a labeling mishap.
Hearthside Food Solutions LLC is warning customers on about 489,887 pounds of its ready-to-eat, individually wrapped sandwiches with meat, egg and cheese because the labels did not declare an allergen: sesame.
The affected products are Letteri’s Food To Go Sausage, Egg & Cheese French Toast Breakfast Sandwich in 8.35-ounce size, and Bacon, Egg & Cheese French Toast Breakfast Sandwich in 7.3-ounce size. They have lot codes with the numbers 23, 24, 25 up to 2508451.
They were produced from April 1, 2023, to March 25.

‘The problem was discovered when the producing establishment notified FSIS that the French toast component of their breakfast sandwiches contained sesame flour, but it was not included in the list of ingredients on the label for the breakfast sandwiches,’ stated an announcement by the US Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) on Wednesday.
The sandwiches were distributed to Army & Air Force Exchange Services locations across the US.
There have not been any confirmed reports of sickness from consumers. Anyone with related health concerns is encouraged to seek medical care.
Consumers who bought the sandwiches are urged to throw them away or return them.

Anyone with questions on the recall is asked to contact Roger Harris, who is chief legal officer for the Salt Lake City, Utah-based company.
The recall comes more than five months after nearly 10million pounds of meat in frozen dinners and packaged salads distributed to Trader Joe’s, Amazon Fresh, Jenny Craig and Kroger were recalled over possible contamination with listeria.
Among the popular items under the recall were Jenny Craig’s Classic Chicken Carbonara, Kroger Southwest Style Salad with Chicken, and Trader Joe’s Lemon Chicken & Arugula salad. There were no reports of consumers immediately sickened by the meals.
