Orlando Pirates striker Tshegofatso Mabasa has secured a new sponsorship deal with Under Armour which he signed in Cape Town on Wednesday.
The left-footed striker is at the peak of his career, and has consistently been scoring goals for the Buccaneers over the past two seasons.
Mabasa is currently sitting on 13 goals across all competitions for Pirates this season, and he’s gunning for more before the end of the current term.
Last season, Mabasa finished top of the goalscoring charts to win the Lesley Manyathela Golden Boot award at the PSL awards.
However, he has been overlooked several times by Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos who prefers Evidence Makgopa among others to lead the attack.
Speaking at his Under Armour unveiling, Mabasa expressed delight at being part of the brand, saying the deal represents where his career began and is heading.

“To be a part of this brand, it means a lot to me and it actually shows where my career has began and where it’s going,” said Mabasa as per iDiski Times.
“This is a step in the right direction for me, for my career, wanting to help to build the brand, making it even bigger than it actually is, especially in football aspect of things in the country.
“Hopefully I can play my part in doing that. And that is through performing in this wonderful gear that I’ll be wearing.”
“It is my role and responsibility as a professional athlete in the country to try and motivate the generation,” he added.
“And hopefully with the backing of Under Armour, I’ll be able to do that.”
