Orlando Pirates to target Marumo Gallants’ star striker, as season draws to an end.
Pirates have set their sights on Gallants’ forward Junior Zindoga, with the club closely monitoring his performances ahead of a potential transfer. According to a source, the Buccaneers are considering making a move for the powerful Zimbabwean forward, who has impressed since arriving in the South African top flight.
Zindoga’s impact at Gallants
Since joining Gallants in January from Eswatini side Nsingizini Hotspurs FC, Zindoga has made his presence felt. Despite scoring just once in nine appearances—seven in the Betway Premiership and two in the Nedbank Cup—his relentless work rate and physical dominance have caught the attention of scouts.
Pirates’ interest in the 26-year-old heightened after his standout display when Gallants shocked the Buccaneers with a 2-0 victory earlier this month in Mangaung. His ability to hold up play and create goal-scoring chances for teammates has been a key asset for Gallants. Making him a prime target for the Soweto giants.
Striker with presence and determination
A source close to the situation confirmed the growing interest in Zindoga.
“The boy has been impressive, and Pirates are one of the clubs monitoring him. His physical presence upfront and his high work rate have made him stand out,” the source revealed.
While no formal approach has been made yet. Speculation suggests that Pirates could initiate talks soon as they aim to strengthen their attacking options for the upcoming season.
Pirates’ squad changes in motion
Zindoga isn’t the only player linked with a move to the Buccaneers. With significant squad changes expected at the end of the season, Pirates are reportedly targeting multiple reinforcements. Among the names on their radar are Thabo Moloisane and Fawaaz Basadien from Stellenbosch FC. But also Vuyo Letlapa from Sekhukhune United, Oswin Appollis and Thabang Matuludi from Polokwane City, AmaZulu’s Tshepang Moremi, Sinoxolo Kwayiba from Chippa United, and Richards Bay FC’s Yanela Mbuthuma.
