Popeyes is bringing ’10/10′ US menu item to the UK for very first time

Let’s be honest, when it comes to fast food, sauce can make or break a meal, right?!

Whether you’re a ketchup fan, a barbecue lover, or prefer something a little hotter, it’s always fun to have something to dunk your fries into, or drizzle over the top of nuggets. 

Popeyes knows this only too well, which is why it already has a popular array of dips on the UK menu – everything from hot honey to cool ranch – but now the Louisiana chicken chain is going to be offering something a little different – and it’s perfect for those who like their food extra saucy.

The chain is adding three ‘bold’ items to its permanent menu from Tuesday, February 11, as part of a brand new Saucin’ Boneless and Hot Wings range. These will be chicken wings and boneless chicken breast pieces, covered in New Orleans-inspired sauces.

The three flavours will include cheesy Garlic Parmesan, smokin’ Bold BBQ and spicy Buffalo, and prices will start from £5.99 for a box.

Hailed as ‘the perfect pairing’ for fried chicken, Popeyes claims the Garlic Parm sauce is a ‘true American twist on a classic Italian combo’. It’s described as a savoury cheese sauce with hints of garlic, black pepper notes and citrus. Yum!

The Bold BBQ option is a sticky sauce, with a classic sweet and smoky flavour, while the Buffalo is a returning favourite. Saucin’ Buffalo Wings were previously trialed in the UK in March 2024 as a limited-edition item and are now back permanently, with the iconic dip transformed into a hot, and glossy sauce that ‘packs a punch’. 

Speaking about the new menu, Dave Hoskins, head of food at Popeyes UK, told Metro: ‘We’re always experimenting with new ways to enjoy our Shatter Crunchin’ fried chicken, so we are delighted  to announce the launch of our brand-new Saucin’ range. 

‘We know our fans love our huge range of dips – and went mad for our trial of Saucin’ Wings last year – so combining the two and giving them a permanent home on our menu was a no-brainer.’

He added: ‘Creating new flavour offerings is our speciality which is why we’ve also introduced the Americana-style Garlic Parm sauce for the first time ever – perfect for those looking to add a punch of bold, New Orleans flavour to their Shatter Crunchin’ chicken.’

While Buffalo wings and BBQ sauce have been sold in the UK before, the Garlic Parmesan is new – but has been available over in the US previously.

Roasted Garlic Parmesan Wings were sold in the US in 2023, and they proved a big hit with American customers who rated them an impressive ‘10/10’.

On YouTube a user known as theendorsement reviewed the Garlic Parmesan wings, admitting they were ‘a little messy’ as they were so saucy, but he said they had ‘great flavour’ and a ‘little spice’, which he hadn’t been expecting. 

Similarly, over on Reddit, there were a number of fans, as u/wayfrae wrote: ‘I was actually surprised at how good their wings were. I’m not usually one for garlic parm wings but theirs are great.’

And on TikTok @CarterLissEat gave the Garlic Parmesan a ‘10/10’ rating, saying: ‘That’s good, they made them really saucy. While @DrockEats suggested the Buffalo version were ‘the best’ fried wings out there.

This new menu launch comes after a few other beloved fast food chains have made big changes to their UK menus of late.

KFC recently revealed that the ‘holy grail’ of fast food, the Double Down burger, would be returning to its menu after it was axed five years ago.

While McDonald’s has just introduced a brand new Stormzy Meal, and announced the Shamrock Shake will finally be launching in the UK in March.

And if this weren’t enough, Wendy’s is also adding some new items to its menu as well, with new halloumi fries and mini doughnuts.
