PSL chairman: Kaizer Chiefs are interested in my player!

Kaizer Chiefs are already preparing for the next transfer market as they look to continue shaping their squad.

Chiefs will be looking to further improve their squad next season with the current squad being massively inconsistent.

Amakhosi have already got the Nasreddine Nabi tenure underway with 10 new players in two windows. Clearly not satisfied, the Tunisian mentor has often stated that only a handful of the players are the profile he is looking for. He hinted that the recent three signings in Tashreeq Morris, Thabo Cele and Glody Lilepo fit his game model. Now as he continues his quest in that regard, it believes he is expecting to strengthen the right-back position for Chiefs.

Chiefs rumoured to be preparing Mabuya offer

This publication reported in January that Chiefs are interested in signing Richards Bay right-back Lwandile Mabuya. Now according to Soccer-Laduma, the chairman of the KZN-based outfit Jomo Biyela has confirmed the interest from Amakhosi in the player.

“There was interest (from Chiefs). Not sure now,” confirmed Richards Bay chairman Biyela on Mabuya on the transfer speculation.

Chairman confirms interest

Chiefs currently have Reeve Frosler, Dillan Solomons and Njabulo Blom as senior right-back options. With Frosler’s deal expiring at the end of the season, there is currently a question mark over his future. Blom, on the other hand is on loan at the club and would ideally play in midfield. Although Solomons has been playing of late, there’s still doubt on if he fits the profile Nabi is looking for. This may be where the interest in Mabuya stems from.

Would he be a welcomed signing?
