With the winter window edging ever closer, the PSL is preparing for another frenzy of transfers.
Mamelodi Sundowns head into the international break fifteen points ahead of Orlando Pirates, who have four games in hand. The two met last weekend with Jose Riveiro’s side claiming a statement victory to claw themselves back into title contention.
Rumours around the league
- Kaizer Chiefs are monitoring Stellenbosch midfielder Sihle Nduli, whose contract expires on June 30.
- Orlando Pirates and AmaKhosi will reportedly battle it out for the services of Richards Bay striker Yanela Mbuthuma.
- The Glamour Boys have made Cape Winelands defender Fawaaz Basadien a priority signing to re-establish stability at the left-back position.
- Orlando Pirates winger Monnapule Saleng remains in exile, promoting speculation of a PSL exit in the winter.
More on Nduli
Nduli has been one of the PSL standouts this season, leading Stellenbosch, alongside Basadien and Devin Titus, to third on the log.
“What we know and believe is that Sihle’s contract is coming to an end in June and there is nothing yet from Stellenbosch FC concerning his contract and this would give Kaizer Chiefs the chance to sign him as a free agent,” a source revealed.
Another insider confirmed the news, but it will not be as easy, saying, “We don’t think it will be easy to let Sihle to just leave like that,
“He is one of the players that the club really depends on and it’s believed that they are working on renewing his contract. But you know in football anything can happen but let’s wait and see before the end of the season.”
