Hotel Chocolat’s Velvetiser first hit the shelves in 2018, and it became a sell-out success for those wanting decadent hot chocolates at the touch of a button.
After numerous restocks it is now more readily available to buy from various retailers, but the £99.95 is quite a steep price tag. So if, like us, you can’t quite justify that figure don’t fret, as we have found a more purse-friendly alternative at ProCook to shop.
ProCook has launched the 2-in-1 Hot Chocolate Maker and Milk Frother, which retails for £69, saving us over £30 – a saving is a saving.
ProCook Milk Frother and Hot Chocolate Maker
Made from stainless steel and plastic, this dishwasher-safe appliance is a multifunctional kitchen appliance. With four pre-programmed milk settings, it can froth hot and cold milk to create a hot chocolate or cold milkshake. The removable stainless steel cup makes it easy to pour your beverage, and clean after use. It can hold 400ml when heating milk, or 200ml for frothing. Two year guarantee available.
The Velvetiser
The innovative design looks chic on the countertop. Fitted with a removable miniature whisk that sits on the base to help blend, or froth, your milk.It can warm your milk, or hot chocolate, or froth cold milk within 2.5 minutes, using the two settings. It features a non-stick interior and detachable whisk for easy cleaning, though it is not suitable for dishwashers. The set includes two ceramic cups worth £20. Available in three colours.
There are a number of reasons why ProCook’s creation is ahead of the curve with its latest innovative kitchen appliance.
The multifunctional gadget easily froths hot and cold milk at the touch of a button. The device boasts four pre-programmed milk settings, whether you want to warm your milk, warm and froth, mix cold or add some bubbles to that cool milkshake.
It is super simple to use too, as within minutes your barista-like drink is ready. All you have to do is pour your preferred milk into the stainless steel cup, select your setting, wait for the light to flash, and within minutes it will buzz to alert you your drink is ready.
The Hotel Chocolat Velvetiser is equally as speedy as it promises a silky smooth drink in under three minutes. However, it only has two settings; it can either blend cold milk and hot chocolate for a refreshing milkshake, or blend and heat to create a hot chocolate.
ProCook’s design can hold up to 400ml when heating milk or creating a decadent hot chocolate, or 200ml when frothing your milk for a coffee, or babyccino. Whereas the original Velvetiser only has a capacity of 200ml.
Both ProCook and Hotel Chocolat’s hot chocolate makers feature removable whisks inside to froth the milk, or blend your hot chocolate powder into a creamy molten lava. While Hotel Chocolat’s design features a non-stick interior it needs to be wiped clean, whereas ProCook’s creation features a removable stainless steel cup, which is dishwasher safe and easier to pour.
ProCook’s Milk Frother and Hot Chocolate Maker is only available in black, whereas Hotel Chocolat’s Velvetiser comes in charcoal grey, copper and white colourways to complement any kitchen interior.
The other factor is the Velvetiser includes two ceramic cups worth £20, which is a perk the ProCook purchase doesn’t have, though it retails for less and can save you £30 you could put towards a full set of new mugs.
ProCook’s Milk Frother and Hot Chocolate Maker has already racked up an average rating of 4.8 out of 5 stars, which is quite impressive.
