A task force has been launched which could reveal some of the US government’s deepest secrets – including the belief there were two shooters at John F Kennedy’s assassination.

Republican Anna Paulina Luna says she and her team want to declassify secret government documents, and hopes her investigation into JFK’s death will be more comprehensive than previous efforts.

Launching the task force she said she will declassify documents about the president’s assassination by Lee Harvey Oswald in 1963, as well as some about sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, Martin Luther King Jr’s assassination, the 9/11 Twin Towers terror attack, and what the government knows about UFOs.

Discussing her planned investigation into JFK’s assassination, Ms Luna said: ‘I believe that there were two shooters, and we should be finding more information as we are able to.

‘In previous investigations, they didn’t have access to the information that we are going to have access to, and so that’s a big deal, especially if you’re looking at what truly happened with JFK.’

The government task force is set to hold its first hearing in March – and witnesses could include people who were in the operation room where the former president died.

Ms Luna said she will be working directly with the White House during her investigation, and that she has already sent letters to the Attorney General and the Department of Justice to reveal more information about the Epstein files.

‘There’s people that have been publicly out there, for example, in the JFK stuff that were actually present in the room, at the operating room, where he was actually brought to right after the shooting,’ Ms Luna said.

‘So we hope to bring those people in to testify. And again, these hearings will be open to the public.’

President Donald Trump ordered the full release of the government’s JFK files shortly after taking office to begin his second term, MailOnline reports.

The executive order requires the director of national intelligence and other officials to formulate a plan for the full release of the assassination files within 15 days.

Another order for the release of files relating to Martin Luther King Jr’s assassination calls for a plan to be presented to him within 45 days.

The task force, which has also sent letters to the National Security Agency, CIA, the Pentagon, and the State and Energy Departments, will also investigate UFOs and unidentified submerged objects.

It comes as Trump signed another executive order calling for the full declassification of about 3,600 government documents, which are still redacted eight years after they were supposed to be declassified.

The collection of more than 5million government records at the National Archives was supposed to be opened by 2017, aside from any exemptions ordered by the president.

Ordering their full declassification, Trump said: ‘All will be revealed.’
